MSI Live Update - latest version?

Hello all -
I wanted to update to the latest version of MSI liveupdate. I currently have 3.90.
Apparently this version (under windows vista) turns off UAC.
Ok, so I'm prompted to download version 3.92.
All 6 download servers on MSI's site say that they have 3.92, however when I downloaded
from each server, 3.90 is the version that I receive.
Anybody know where i can get 3.92 from?
*if this was posted in the wrong area I apologize..I didn't see any other suitable place for this post*.

You can find Live update download under the 'Utility' tab for your MB at 'MSI Global'.
It's best not to use 'Live Update' especially for BIOS and just manually download whatever it is that you need.
Edit: It seems that some people have had problems with 3.92, maybe it's been dropped from the servers if all you get is 3.90. Not many of us would dare use it but I'm sure someone else knows more about this than I do.

Latests nVidia drivers (5.10) are getting me crazy. I have problems with audio (interferences and laggy sound), video (autozoom of my desktop after watching a film at fullscreen). I recommend the 4.xx (xx=cannot remember ), I mean, the prior version to 5.10 for the Mega180 with onboard audio&video.

Possible issue with MSI Live Update 5

Hi guys, purchased a brand new MSI R9 280X Gaming 3G GPU from Scan.co.uk just before Christmas.
Whilst playing around with GPUz i happened to notice that my card appears to have had at least one new BIOS for it (possibly two) since release. I downloaded MSI Live Update 5 from your site and ran the tool however it reports my GPU BIOS Version as unknown and doesn't find any BIOS updates for my card.
Just wondering why this would be and if i can get a link to the latest BIOS and instructions on how to manually flash.
My system specs are as follows
AMD FX8350 @ 4.8Ghz 1.55v / Corsair H100 Cooler
ASUS Sabertooth R990FX R2.0

First off this is a Users-to-Users Forum not MSI tech support if you wanted to address them. Don't use LU5 as it is quite buggy. You can't see if there are new vbios versions available as you can't compare gpu-z numbers or such. Different batches of the same model can use different vbios versions which have different (higher or lower) version numbers. A higher version number might be a different not newer vbios. To check your S/N and a copy of your current vbios is required.

MSI Live Update is not working

When i use MSI Live Update to check for BIOS or other things, it gives me a page not found thing. I can use internet though. How can i solve it?

Try downloading Live update from the download page of this site, it is the latest version. You will see it under VGA - Utilities. It should load and install without problem, save it to a folder for use next time you re install.

MSI Board K9VGM-V (MS-7253): Using MSI Live Update

Available for download is MSI's Live Update. Considering using this to update my BIOS. I am aware about the dangers of flashing. I am trying to be as safe as possible about my upcoming attempt. But look at what it says about my particular board under the "Notes" section of the Live Update download.

It says and I quote "For K9VGM-V (MS-7253) mainboard, please do not select the DMI optopn." (I am sure that last word is supposed to be option).
DMI? What is DMI? I assume it is this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_Management_Interface
So my question is...
What does that mean? What am I supposed to do? Is this DMI some option in the program that I am not to select? Or is this whole Live Update process fall under DMI and people with my board can't use it whatsoever? Am I screwed or what should I do? I am trying to be very careful here.

If that is true, you should under absolutely no circumstances use MSI LIve Update to update your BIOS. There are quite a few threads here in the forum that were opened by users that rendered there K9VGM-V Boards useless because of using such a risky Windows based update application. If you really think, that you need to update your BIOS, please be sure that this is really necessery. Flashing a BIOS for no specific reason is not really recommended. Never change a running system!

Msi Live Update....not Show The Last Driver

whe MSI Live Monitor (MSI Live Update 3), search.. not show, the last driver...and bios....
I have a G4MX460-VTP
and the driver in the MSI Live Update is:
Online Ver. 4403 (MSI Version)
but when visit the MSI webpage (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=154) the last driver is:
Nvidia driver 45.32 for Win2000/WinXP/Server2003 OS
and in the Nvidia webpage is 50.16.....
and the same happend with the VGA Bios...
y fix my vga cad update the VGA bios....but...this update don't show in the Live Update 3

Do not update the VGA BIOS unless you have a good reason to. It is not like a motherboard.
Go to nVidia Drivers if you want the latest drivers.
Live Update may not have been updated OR the version reported by the Live Update utility has been tested successfully with that card. Newer drivers sometimes cause problems with older cards. The only way to know for sure is got to the nVidia site and try the latest.

MSi Live Update 6.0.016 Doesn't work

Just tried to update Live Update within the program to the latest version but I got the error message "This application does not support this platform." So I close the error message and what happens? The damn setup uninstalls and erases the program from my computer!
Has anyone else encountered this problem? And why did this happen?

I have the same problem, MSi Live Update 6.0.016 gave me the same error "this application does not support this platform" and it uninstalled the previous version (6.0.012)!!!!!!

MSI Live Update will no longer work after recent update

Recently, MSI Live Update upgraded itself and now errors when a scan is attempted. I can start the application, and the scan appears to occur but does not complete. The error is pretty generic:

First thing I did was uninstall the tool, delete the directory, reboot and download and install Live Update 6.x from the MSI site. No change. I figured there was possibly a problem with (one of the) C++ Runtime libraries and checked the system requirements on the MSI website, but all it says its needs is the .NET runtime library. I uninstalled it, rebooted, and reinstalled it but still received the same error. Going with the error, I removed all of the C++ libraries (8, 10, and 12 I think), rebooted, and reinstalled them the checked MS for updates. Sadly, this also didn't resolve it.

I fixed it though--went to Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, found Microsoft .net 4.5.1, hit Change/Uninstall, then clicked Repair. Rebooted after and it was fine.
Windows 8.x has .NET 4.x preinstalled as a part of the OS.
I used DISM.exe which identified a component store corruption (and repaired it). Live Update still errors.
Attempts to install from a .NET runtime returns an error of "A higher version is already installed".
Version of .NET installed: 4.5.51641
I did disable, reboot, and re-enable .NET as a feature but doing so does not revert it back to stock .NET.
I also checked Windows Update after re-enabling it and there were no updates - so its not flushing the binaries if its disabled.
At least I have a direction to start troubleshooting (.NET) - thanks for the tip!

Restore points are out - I let this slide too long. If I go that route, I'll be fixing one app to break 10 others.
If I'm going to reinstall the OS, I'll wait until Windows 10 (I'll do a complete wipe at that time). Live Update is a 'nice to have', but its not worth my time to wipe the OS and rebuild the system.

Can't install MSI Live Update 3

I have a problem installing msi live update. I have tried with the utility cd and downloadet the newest version for MSI.
When I click the exe i run shortly and then disappears. Nothing happens - I can see the Live Update process in the taskbar.
My system are:
P965 Neo F
Core 2 Duo e6600
Does anybody know how to solve my problem?

It is done automatic when using an old version of Live Update.
However, Last night I figured it out
I disabled my security programs and opened Live Update with IE instead of Firefox
I knew it but I was very tired at the time.

DualCoreCenter and MSI Live Update 3

I downloaded the DualCoreCenter a while ago, failed to reboot the computer, and it didn't work when I tried to open it. So I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it, this time rebooting, but it still won't open. I double click on it (in the start up menu and on the desktop), it has the hourglass for a second, then it goes away. It never loads. MSI Live Update 3 gives me the error message "Cannot open file MSI" then opens my Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album. Any help on either problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Also, while reading the stickies, I saw a program called DriverCleaner, but the link to the free version was broken. Is the free version no longer available? If it is still available, where can I get it from? I have many old drivers (mainly from my old ATI card, now using Nvidia) that I am afraid to get rid of myself. Thanks!

MSI KT8 Neo2 F board, upgraded cpu and used MSIs Live Update, now unstable BSODs

I've had this mobo for almost 2 yrs now with an AMD 3500+ cpu and recently upgraded that to the FX-55. To do that, it required using MSIs Live Update and needed newer chipset drivers. It has the latest bios according to Live Update.
It took a few attempts but finally booted w/o BSODs and has been running for over 1 week BUT is still not right. It's sometimes unstable and will crash (BSOD) just by starting up a browser. I had the bios settings at "optimized" and have tryed a few other changes but so far, I'm not gaining. Last night I couldn't keep it running more than a few minutes w/o it crashing.
I have the MSI manual for my board and plan to spend some more time playing with it tonight but might anyone here have any ideas? It's not running hot (reads 50C) and was stable before with the 3500+. I've tryed "Fail Safe" bios settings too but nothing's better that way either.
I'm hoping that someone here has a few ideas?

After initially running this with the new cpu, I'd see the "searching for MAC address" message and it'd hang there on boot. Someone told me that was because it was trying to do a network boot, selected in the boot sequence SO I've unselected that and that's when things got worse (oddly as it shouldn't IMO). One can select the 3+ boot devices (floppy, USB, CD-DVD rom, HDD) and it use to see the HDDs (2) before but now I'm not (only floppy and CD-DVD rom) and if I unselect the ethernet option (boot other devices), it fails to boot at all and says "insert floppy" as if I was installing Win98 way back when (running XP Pro btw). Something's definately not right with my bios selections.

Let's go back to basics here for a bit. Start by posting your complete specs in your signature like we do. Make sure that your PSU values are also in there.
Let's also look at some tests to help determine where the issue is. I would recommend Memtest86+, OCCT, Prime95, and 3DMarks as a great first series. Also get CPUz and lets see what it shows for CPU and Memory.
If we can get an idea where things begin to fall apart then maybe we can determine if this is driver, hardware or some other issue without having to make the flash happen first. The reason why I am avoiding the flash at this point is that if things are mostly working maybe there is some other cause than Bios. We know that some FX's work with 3.x and some that don't. So I would like to try a bit of checking before we dive into a flash that could cause more issues than it solves if we get this wrong. As things are mostly working now we can assume at least for the moment that maybe the flash is not needed. If we don't see anything during testing that sheds some light then maybe we go ahead with the flash.
That is if your willing to take some time to try and sort this out and maybe learn some stuff in the process. It is of course your call and we will respect whichever decission you make here.

MSI Live update failed

I a trying to upgrade my firmware for my motherboard.
Motherboard: K9VGM-V
Windows XP
Internet Explorer 7
When I use the MSI Live update, it tells me that it is going to install BIOS upgrade from version 1.0 to 1.80.
However, once I get passed the installation setup, it goes to run the flash upgrade program but I get the error message: "Error Executing the Specified Program: MSISETUP.exe"
When I go to have a look in the installation directory there are a few files in there, but not a MSISETUP.exe.
Here are the files that are in there:
AWDFLH
Ms-7253.pfw
W7253VMS.180
Help, this is MOST annoying as it seems the only way to flash my BIOS.

Can I just say a big thank you to all of you. 24 hours since I posted the new thread and we have 9 responses and one happy customer.
I should let you all know that I now have version 1.92 for my BIOS, and it solved my problem... my BIOS, and therefore my Windows and Linux installs all now recognize the processor I am using.
I got ftp access to the BIOS files through MSI support email, and using the alternative guide BOSSKILLER provided, I was able to successfully use my space USB pen to flash my BIOS.

How to update VGA bios in MSI live update.

Hi,
I downloaded MSI live update and i saw that there is a new bios for my card and i downloaded it.
when i go to the folder with the DL-FILE i see that different things are downloaded included nvflash and the rom itself.
Now is my question, can i install the new bios though the MSIsetup in that folder or do i have to do it a different way? I just want to be sure because i don't want to do anything wrong and probably brick my card.

I just flashed the new vbios via MSI live update yesterday, but I have GTX 970, not sure if the procedure is the same or not between different cards.
I just pressed the "download and install" arrow on the right side of vbios size, and live update only allowing me to choose vbios update at one time. After the download finished, it auto executed cmd under windows, and remind me to remove graphics card driver and continue (I did uninstall when I flashing my first card, but for the next one I just closed the nvidia experience), after press twice "Y" in the cmd, the flash began and then system just auto restarted. When my pc rebooted to windows again, I checked the vbios version, it appears the new one.

Driver Update (Change-logs) MSI-Live Update 6 and Website

I have kinda a request. I am a owner of the Z97 Gaming 9 AC motherboard.
In MSI Live Update 6 I see some updates ready to be installed. The most annoying part is that it isn't notifying the change-logs. Normally I have a rule of (If it ain't broken, don't fix it). Yet some drivers that are update-able, are having my priority. Like a network-driver and audio-driver. And if the changes are adding more efficiency and better overall performance. Then it helps me to make up my mind to either update the drivers or not.
Killer Network Driver (installed : 1.1.47.1058) and now there is a update available to version 1.1.49.1068
C-Media Audio Drivers (installed : 1.00.0013) and now there is a update available to version 1.00.0014)
