MSSQL JDBC driver missing for installation of NW '04 SR1

Hi all,
during the installation of NW '04 SR1/EP6 on a system running MSSQL Server 2000 SP4 SAPinst crashes with the following error:
ERROR 2007-03-06 22:33:34
MDB-05800  <html>Cannot find jdbc driver for MS SQL Server</html>
I searched this forum, the notes and asked Dr. Google but to no avail. Can anybody give me a hint what's the problem, please?
Best regards,
Bernd

Thanks a lot for your help Dan! Your suggestion has shown me the right direction. As I wrote the directory you mentioned was indeed missing. I copied it from another installation and it worked.
At least it seemed to work, but I've got another problem concerning the database connection during the installation. While performing the step "Load Java Database content" SAPinst crashes again with the following output:
com.sap.inst.jload.Jload main
SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Could not load class com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.
The strange thing is that I found two different SQL driver on the machine with the working installation! One was located in the installation media directory, the files WebAS is working with are obviously another version, because they have significantly different files sizes!
Does someone have a hint which versions of SQL Server and driver files do work together?

now shows patch support for six items but the NT operating

You must include "classes12.zip" instead of "classes111.zip".
Since "classes111.zip" is required only for Java 1
and "classes12.zip" is required for Java 2 which means from J2SE 1.2 on forward.
In adition you might need to inlcude "nls_charset12.zip" as well. Try it first without and if it is not working include it as well.
The required files can you get from the OTN.
    This should help

  • Requirements for JDBC Driver needed for SOA 8 }connection pool

    Hi,
I have an AS400 jdbc driver. This driver is JDBC API version 2.x. Also is a Driver Type 4.
What are the requirements of a JDBC Driver needed for connection pool in SOA 8?
    Thanks.
    Lorenzo Jimenez

You can use pretty much any jdbc driver, including type 2 and type 4.
You need to make sure your shared libraries needed by the driver are available to the appserver when you boot.
Other than that, it is no different than configuring any other driver.

  • SQLDeveloper - MSSQL jdbc driver

    Hi
I am having problem to connecto SQLDeveloper to MSSQL database. I tried to place MS JDBC driver in $SQLDeveloper/jdbc but application cannot find it. What is SQLDevelopers default location for jdbc drivers?
    thx

Adobe LiveCycle Installer dumps the supported drivers in install directory. Hence, you need not download it from Microsoft site. LiveCycle 9.0.0.2 was certified with 1.2. However, LiveCycle has a process called Customer Certification Request (CCR) process whereby platforms not earlier certified can also be certified on request if feasibility exists. You may contact Adobe to check if LC can assess your requirement and perform certification for your platform, components and the driver version. All customers can reach out to Account managers for such a request.

  • PI 7.1 and Oracle JDBC driver: missing com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda

    Hello,
I want to deploy the JDBC driver for Oracle databases as described in OSS 1138877 on a brand-new PI7.1 (SP06 Stack) installation. Unfortunately, I can't find com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda on the system, so I can't add the ojdbc14.jar file and deplay it using JSPM.
Where can I get it from?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Herwig

    hey,
The JDBC driver installation is different for PI 7.1.
The dowload/modify/deploy .sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda method was used in the earlier versions.(mentioned in the How to guides)
Look at the SAP documentation below -

  • MSSQL JDBC driver

Hi there, I'm attempting to creaet a java interface with an SQL database on an MSQL server but am not having much luck setting up the JDBC and MS SQL Server 2000 driver in netbeans... any help that anyone can give me will be much appreciated!
I have netbeans setup and installed the SQL server driver, the entries for the 3 jar files that come with the driver are in my windows (NT4.0) classpath but netbeans isn't finding classes.
a sample of the code I have written thus far is:
    try{
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    catch(ClassNotFoundException e){ }
    SQLServerConnection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://rworlddev:1433","AssetRegister","assets");
but it is getting the following errors:
    testGUI.java [22:1] cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : class SQLServerConnection
    location: class testGUI
    SQLServerConnection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://rworlddev:1433","AssetRegister","assets");
So it isn't finding the class, although when i right click the SQLServerConnection text and go to "Go to source" i get a text box saying:
"Source com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerConnection not found in Filesystems"
I have mounted all three jar files and they are appearing in the filesystems, but should i mount the jar files from the com directory? it seems like it's mounted one level 'too high' although I'm not sure if this can even be done in netbeans..
    Thanks for any help!

You might change that "SQLServerConnection" to just be the Connection interface. This likely won't solve your problem though.
Can you get Netbeans to tell you what classpath it's using? You might go ahead and drop the jar that contains your JDBC driver into your extension directory ($JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext) and see if that helps.
    Good Luck

  • Need JDBC driver string for MYSQL DB Resin server

Please any body provide me the jdbc driver for MYSQL
    database for Resin server
    Thanks

The driver and URL string are independent of server you deploy them on.
Put that JDBC JAR in your Web app's WEB-INF/lib directory and it'll be in the CLASSPATH.
Set up the pooled data source as appropriate for your server. That's the server-dependent part.

  • Oracle JDBC driver problem for Canada locale

    Hi, there:
I have problem on Oracle JDBC thin driver with Canada locale on client side:
I'm using Oracle9i thin jdbc driver, the nls parameters in oracle database is:
    NLS_LANGUAGE: AMERICAN
    NLS_TERRITORY: AMERICA
    NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS : .,
My java client side is running on Windows NT, which using jdbc thin driver to connect oracle database. If I set the locale in client side as "English(Canada)", it seems return me "French" number format, like ",45" (comma, instead of decimal point) for "0.45". However, If I set client side locale as "English(United States)", it returns me "0.45" as expected.
So, my question: does Oracle JDBC driver always returns "French" number format evenif I set "English(Canada)" as locale? Because Canada have both English and French locale "French(Canada), and English(Canada)". How can I get "English" number format like "0.45" with "English(Canada)" locale setting?
Really appreciated any reply, and thanks a lot in advance
    David

Sounds like a question for Oracle Support to me.
Anyway, the way to avoid the problem is to not ask Oracle to format numbers. Get the number directly (via ResultSet.getInt() or getDouble() or whatever) and ask Java to format it.

  • Satellite C870-11G - "SM BUS controller driver missing" for Win 7 64bit

    Good afternoon,
After extensive searching of the forums I have been unable to find a solution so far.
A few of months ago, following the demise of her previous Satellite, my lady friend acquired a Satellite C870-11G running Windows 7 (64 bit).
She acquire the machine online from PC World and after doing the windows updates set it up using the Zonealarm free firewall & AVG 2013 free antivirus. We installed the bundled Microsoft Office 365 and drivers for her HP F4180 Deskjet.
Initially everything ran fine but about a month ago the machine would not recognise the printer.
After doing the troubleshooting thing, the machine reported an "SM BUS Controller Driver" as being missing.
After a lot of net research etc, plus faffing around with the System Restore" function, I still couldn't fix it and so went for the 'nuclear option' i.e. I backed all her data up and did a full Factory Reset from the restore partition.
We've gradually been putting it back together, reloading her data, re-installing ZoneAlarm & AVG, Picassa & Office 365. Yesterday I went to re-install the printer drivers but before doing so checked the Device Manager only to find that the error "SM BUS controller driver is missing" had returned. Grrrrr...
I've been trying to use the system restore to go back restore point by restore point but that too now fails to complete every time with the error (0x80070005).
Before I go Nuclear again, has anyone any ideas please...?
    Regards & thanks in advance.
    Larry

Try please to reinstall chipset driver. I found it for your machine and you can download it from here .
Test it please and post some feedback.

That file exists on that path, so I'm not sure if this message means that it can't find that dll, or a procedure within that dll.
If I set it up to use the thin client... no problems. This is very strange. ojdbc14.jar is on the classpath as well as all the DLLs needed, and I have the client installed on my machine.
What else could I possibly need?

Prior to 10g, Oracle claimed to require the entire Oracle client installation for the OCI driver to work; allegedly you couldn't just pick up the dlls you needed...
With 10g, they've supplied a stripped down "Instant Client" that has just the bare bones stuff (it's still 10MB, zipped):
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/winsoft.html
They still recommend that you install the client and add an entry to your classpath and path variables rather than trying to pick and choose what you need. I believe the 10g OCI driver is still dependent on an Oracle Net installation (which would be part of the Instant Client install, if required).
BTW, last I knew (last year), Macromedia was discouraging the use of the OCI driver with Cold Fusion.
Personally, I'm not aware of any significant benefits the OCI driver would provide a Cold Fusion installation. The only good reasons I've ever heard of for using the OCI driver are: to connect via IPC instead of TCP/IP (requires the database be running on the same server as the Java program), to use TAF, to use the OCI connection pooling for connection multiplexing, to take advantage of some slight performance gains with stored procedure calls. While not an expert in this area, I think only the first could possibly apply to use with Cold Fusion. The myth that OCI is substantially faster for standard SQL (non stored procedures) has been repeatedly debunked.
