Mt_shm_init: can't create virtual segment

Hi,
I'm running informix5 on solari26.
I installed informix7 on the same system.
When I tried to startup inf7, I got the following error:
16:31:38 shmat: [EMFILE][24]: out of shared memory segments, check system SHMSEG
16:31:38 mt_shm_init: can't create virtual segment
Any thoughts?

Ravi - You may want to check the Informix documentation for the proper settings of
the shared memory kernel configuration. Basically you will probably add something
like the following to /etc/system:
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=10
I know other database systems require a change to shminfo_shmmax also.
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
After making the changes, reboot. It is probably best to check the database documentation
to see what values are recommended.

Can't create Virtual Machine

I want to create Virtual Machine used iso image (Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 update 3). I use one Shared pool master & Utility Server (in same machine), and 2 Virtual Machine Servers. I can't create Virtual Machine it display Error and log display My iso file doesn't exit! and Server Name display N/A.
and I have 1 question about topology
Once I create Server Pool I choose
- Shared Pool Master , Utility Server , Virtual Machine Server (by default) but when I add Server (choose Virtual Machine Server)
Then I deselect Virtual Machine Server in Server Pool
I'm not sure that Server Pool can be only Shared Pool Master and Utility Server OR Shared Pool Master , Utility Server , Virtual Machine Server (by default)

a.) In each server pool, each server can have different responsibilities. In a server pool there exists exactly one server pool master, multiple (at least one) utility servers and multiple VM servers.
These roles can be on one host or distributed. So yes one server with all three roles is possible (that is the standard if you only have 1 server in your server pool).
b.) There are 2 types to create virtual machines from installation media.
If you create a PVM (paravirutalized guest) which is recommended for Linux, then you have to use an NFS share with the .iso file extracted, and cannot use the ISO file directly.
If you create a HVM (hardware virutalized guest) you can use an ISO file.
However this ISO must be imported first into the OVM Manager (Under Resources, ISO Files).
For this the ISO have to be placed in a subfolder under the iso_pool folder (in an OVS repository, e.g. /OVS).

How can I creat virtual channel and traditional devices while my card installed,I can not do?

I installed PCI-6220 card,and I also installed DAQmx and Traditional DAQ in my computer,
but I cannot creat virtual channel at the last step(attachment:TDAQ6220.jpg).
Maybe this is the reason I didn't creat traditional NI-DAQ Device,but I can not creat it.
(see attachment: DAQ Device.jpg,there is no PCI-6220 on list).
What's wrong?What shall I do?

You can see this attachment(6024E.jpg),the 6024E card appears on Traditional NI-DAQ Devices,
but I don't know how can it be created(I don't creat it,we buy the whole system together with the machine).
I tried create a new traditional Device(I want to confirm 6024E), but still I can not see any NI-DAQ device in traditional NI-DAQ device
lists. See the 'Create New....' interface.How can do it?

Can not create "Virtual Machine" - Oracle VM 3.0.2

I seem to have everything built right as previous VMs I have created.
Steps taken so far (not sure if these are in the exact order but it is close):
New NFS storage device.
Created a new Repository using new NFS storage.
Installed a new Oracle VM server
Discovered New Server.
Presented new Repository to server.
Created a new pool that used one mount point as the Cluster Storage.
Added the new Server to the new pool.
The new devices are all on a new network. I went to the Hardware - Networks tab and re-initialized the "virtual machine" setting. I even verified on the new OVM server that the new bridge is there.
Uploaded an Oracle 5.5 ISO to the repository.
So with that. I have a new pool with 1 server, a new repository that is presented, plenty of VNICs available and now I want to create a new VM guest.
I click Create Virtual Machine and go through the pages. HVM, create my Vdisk, choose the ISO I created, and click finish.
I then receive.

Not sure what else to try, nor why it wouldn't work.

Are you connecting to the VM Manager over HTTP or HTTPS?
If you're using HTTPS, try HTTP - I had similar issues to you, which seemed to go away when I connected to the manager over HTTP.

Can not create Rollback segment

in 8i on Win 2003
unfortunately I have dropped rollback tablespace. Now when creating I receive ORA-01552 :
SQL> CREATE PUBLIC ROLLBACK SEGMENT "RBS1"

DRSYS is one of the default tablespaces which used to come with the DBCA ,

Firrst thing is that you shouldn't create any segment , rollback or other in any system alike tablespace like DRSYS. You should create a seperate tablespace in which you should create the segments. As Satish asked already, there shouldn't be any problems as such but only the expectation of 1555 error due to the improper sizing of the rollback segments. But this is just a thought, it would be better if you explain your doubt(s) .

Can't create virtual number with popups turned off

I use "virtual account numbers"--essentially proxy credit card numbers linked to my real credit card--to make online purchases (through www.citicards.com).
However I can't use this feature with popups disabled, even though it says it will still allow popups initiated by a link or button…I know I could just switch it on and off whenever I want to go a virtual number but is there another way of doing this more seamlessly? (while maintaining the ability to block popups)

Citi is probably referring to IE when they say it will work with popup windows turned off; they still have no idea that any other browsers exist.
You could turn off block popup windows in Preferences just when you use that feature, then turn it back on. It's also possible that you don't have JavaScript turned on, which is what's used to initiate a popup window, even from a clicked link. If that's the case, turn on JavaScript and try it; and if that doesn't work, turn off Block popup windows temporarily.

Can't create Virtual App for Office 2007

I'm trialing ZAV 8.0.1 and was able to virtualise a very simple app no problem so I figuerd I'd move to something more complex, such as Office.
I trying to use the wizard but I keep getting the following error

CREATING VIRTUAL COLUMN IN OWB11g

How can i create virtual columns in ORACLE 11g using Warehouse Builder. OWB11g does not seem to have this option available. The only other option seems to be to alter the table using sql.

what is automatic Undo mode???

Automatic undo mode is the default behavior in Oracle 9i where
Oracle server itself manages creation/sizing etc of rollback
segments. I believe if you want to do it the old 8i/8/7.x way,
you need to change some parameter to not use Automatic Undo

I am configuring UME to create virtual groups in Portal. And I successfully did that.
My question is, Can I create virtual groups for multiple user attributes?
For e.g. Can I create virtual groups based on location as well as employeetype?
So I would be seeing somewat like this:
Cadre based groups: Cadre_Staff, Cadre_Managers, Cadre_Executives, Cadre_Presidents
Location based groups: location_India, location_USA, location_England

we can create Virtual groups; for that just follow below steps:
1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
3. Set below properties:
ume.virtual_groups.names = Sales,Production,accounts
ume.virtual_groups.user_attribute = myAttribe (give any name)
ume.virtual_groups.user_attribute.namespace = myNameSpace (give any name)
4. Save and Restart the Engine.
5. login to UME then search for Virtual Groups; you will get Sales,Products,Account groups.

Can we create two different Segments at client and company level

We have a particular requirement in segments reporting. we have to provide product wise segments reporting at client level and for income tax purpose one of our manufacturing plant has to maintain a separate books of accounts for this purpose we want to create a separate geographically at company level of this plant which is in different state. can we create this type of segments for separate books at company level.
If there is any other process where we can get separate books of accounts.

Of course you can do this but only worrysome thing will business users will be confused between the Plant and product line business segment.
You must have Product Line (for e.g. segment 1000) is manufacture at plant 1000 (segment 2000), so when any expense occur in Plant 1000 for Product Line 1000 which segment should be used???
So give precedence to segment whichever you want......and costantly monitor entries being posted to thses segment...

As unicode encode use more bytes than 2-bytes encode (for instance, ZHS16GBK), and XE has the limit with 4GB totally. So, can I create a non-Unicode (for instance, ZHS16GBK) database manually via create database segment? or I just could use unicode?

I want to create user segment programitically, not through BCC.
Rule for the segment I will be getting from some third party. I have to create rule for my segment programitically and assign the user segment to a profile group.
I checked the user properties and got to know as for every profile user segments will be assigned as a dynamic property.
How I can create the same programitically after getting the rule from third party.
