MTA Graphs and Lines

I am confused between the various lines and curves that usually comes in MTA graph. Can anybody help me to understand these curves and lines.In short, I just want to know more about MTA and how it is performed and what are settings required to achieve this.?
Any help will be rewarded.?

Hi Kumar,
Yes, you can perform MTA through CJ2B in project planning board. Anyways, I will remove your confusion regarding MTA.
There is a proper transaction for it which is CNMT.
I have posted a following screen shot taken from my Development Client for you. Go through it once.
From the above graph, you can see that VERTICAL lines are showing dates of different milestones. In my case, I have not taken any historical curve. But I expect it must be coming in your case. So, now if you get a HORIZONTAL curve then it will suggest you that its dates have not changed over the course of time, that is, progress is being made on schedule. Conversely, an ascending curve indicates that a deadline has been delayed, whereas a descending curve shows that a milestone has been reached early compared to the original planning.
PRE-REQUISITES for MTA
1. To perform a milestone trend analysis. the projects that you want to analyze must contain milestones where the Trend analysis indicator is set or was set at early on the project. The Historical curve view of the milestone trend analysis shows the dates over time of the milestones, where the Trend analysis indicator is currently set. The Historical milestones view also displays milestone dates, but where the indicator is not currently set although it was set at an earlier time.
2. The second prerequisite for the milestone trend analysis is that you must create project versions to retain the dates of the milestones for the different times in the system. Note. in this case. that you must set the MTA relevant indicator for the project versions in order to ensure that they can be used for a milestone trend analysis.
I hope this may help you

Amit

    From the [custom painting tutotial|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/painting/index.html]:
    Most of the standard Swing components have their look and feel implemented by separate "UI Delegate" objects. The invocation of super.paintComponent(g) passes the graphics context off to the component's UI delegate, which paints the panel's background. For a closer look at this process, see the section entitled "Painting and the UI Delegate" in the aforementioned SDN article.

  • How to make the values of a combination graph (bar and line) visible always

    Hi ,
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.6
    i have created a combination graph which has a bar and line.
    The data with respect to bar and graph were only visible when i keep the mouse pointer on it.
    i need to set the values visible always.
    kindly let me know how to make it.
    In pie graph its by default showing the data always.
    regards
    Siva

    Hi Sameh Nassar,
    Thanks for the input, am using the combination graph and i dont have this property added till now.
    i tried adding them manually in source but it didn't work. so I assume that this property is good with pie chart alone.
    please correct me if am wrong.
    This is my combination graph structure.

  • How to create a Power View bringing barchart and line chart together in same graph

    We are planning to create power view report that has bar and line charts on same graph. Could you please let us know whether it is feasible in Power View & how to add trend line in power view .
    Thanks,
    Sandeep.

    This is not possible with Power View. It is possible with Power BI (Online at PowerBI.com) See image below.

  • How do i  create a line graph and scatterplots graph in numbers?

    hi fellow mac users, i am taking a biology class and i have to create a graph, the only problem is i dont know where to begin. I would love your advice and ideas on how to do so.THE OTHER TYPES OF GRAPHS THAT I HAVE TO MAKE IS A LINE GRAPH     SCATTER PLOT    BAR GRAPH   AND    A  PIE CHART.  if yall could help me that would be great. (a list of steps will help me alot)

    HI izzie,
    As well as the link in Wayne's post, you can get the Numbers '09 User Guide through the Help menu in Numbers.
    Besides Chapter 7, which deals with your current question, I would strongly suggest reading at least the first four chapters of the guide for a good grounding in the basics of using Numbers.

  • Interactive Bar/pie chart and line graph, data from excel/text file -urgent

    Hi,
    I have a huge data in excell sheet which keeps updating every month. Data basically consists of service provider and there respective subscribers from various regions of the country over the years. The requirement is to give the viewers an interactive page where in they can make various combinations and can compare, cross examine data according to thier choice.
    We want the pie chart / bar graph or line graph to be created on the fly according to the combination made by the user.
    The site is hosted on a red hat linux server. how can a connection to the excel spreadsheet be made or is it possible to read from the text file if the entire data is exported to a text file.
    Is there any ready made tool/code available which can be customised according to the need.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards
    Prakash

    I certainly wouldn't pay for the graphing package at the previous link. check out http://www.object-refinery.com/jfreechart/ for a free, open-source, much better looking graphing package.

  • Stacked Bar chart and Line graphs

    I have a report in Crystal which has stacked bar chart and a line graph together in one report.
    Is it possible to do the same thing in WebI . Can anybody share the experience.

    Today you can only have a simple bar (not stacked) and line chart in Web Intelligence.  We are looking to improve charts in the future.  In the meantime you can look into the masher from the labs...

  • How to draw a graph of tree structure (using shapes and lines)?

    Hello,
    I tried to search this solution in the forum, and I see people asking and replying with solutions to similar situation, but I don't get what I am looking for. Also because I have never tried with graphs before.
    So, my problem is, I need a function that takes a string with tree structure, as in automata or tree graph, and displays the nodes in tree form. "Tree" is not important, but important is that each object should be displayed as a node and lines connecting them. Please see the image below (with three possible options):
    So, basically, the tree structure could be like X(a, X(a,b), c) where X(a,b) is a sub-tree of higher level X. The program knows the parent-child relationship, so this function only needs to display those elements in a graphical fashion.
    I pass the string in the form of a 2D array showing the hierarchy (to simplify).
    In the image, I am showing three possible options for showing the tree. The third option eliminates those circles and rectangles, if that simplifies.
    I hope I explained clearly.
    Thanks ahead!
    Vaibhav

    I would start drawing from the top. The nodes will be the easy part.
    Begin with the root node centered in the drawing area horizontally and against the top of the drawing area. The second row of nodes would be located vertically (as in my example) 1.5x pixels below the first one, and either distributed horizontally across the available drawing area or at a fixed distance - like 1.5x again, or someother distance you define.
    The tricky part will be drawing the lines since they need run between the edges of nodes. This is where the high-school geometry might come in.
    Keep us posted on what you come up with. Extra points for coming up with a solution that will automatically resize itself to fit the available drawing area! (I've already given you all the clues for how to do that too.)

  • Combination of bar and line in chart(graph) of Crystal Report XI

    Hi,
    I found the way to combine line and bar in a chart(graph) but I am getting rectangle marker where bar and line are crossed. Our user asked to remove the rectangle marker. Please let me know how to remove the rectangle marker.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Manjunath N. Jogin

    Hi Senthil,
    You are right but I am getting marker rectangle where line and bar coincides.
    I want to remove the marker.
    User asked following two things:
    1. Marker like star, triangle, rectangle ...not required where coincide line and bar.
    2. Line should be coincided (marker place) at middle of bar.
    Please let me know how to achieve these two things.
    Thanks,

  • Preview Printing Negative Images - White text and lines on black background

    Desperate for help here. After upgrading to Tiger, I have more instances when Preview displays a PDF correctly but prints certain pages with images, such as graphs and technical figures, as negatives, that is, white text and line art on a black background. Is there any way I can fix this? Any advice would be most appreciated.

    I was trying to scan from a Lexmark X5250 into Preview so that I could fax a signed document to a company.
    When I chose "To be faxed", with Preview TIFF program under 10.4.6 (combo) (PPC), the document appeares in Preview as a white-on-black (negative) in Preview's open window.
    A work-around seems to be that one selects "To be printed", then prints from Preview, then selects (in the lower-left corner drop-down-menu) "Fax PDF". (Unfortunately, the modem still won't hang-up properly -- is this because of my ADSL filter on the fax phone-line? ).

  • Chart missing Columns and Lines

    I have created a Column Line Chart and allow the user to input different values that change formulas to produce the columns and line on the graph. I can see the graph perfectly fine with all columns and the line on the canvas view. Whenever I try to export to any file type, upon opening the file, all but two of the columns are missing and the line is missing in all spots except for at two points.
    I've noticed that if I remove my formulas from my spreadsheet and just put in hard coded values in place of the formulas, the report populates correctly, but this takes away all functionality of allowing the user to adjust inputs, which is the entire reason we are using this software.
    Please advise how I can fix this issue so that my chart shows all data.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Dan
    This is common - this can happen due to possible reasons like
    1) The data in preview mode on which the formula is applied is not same as the hard coded or the one in design mode. So when you go to preview its different view in the chart
    2) Some other component is messing with the excel ranges you are using for formula for the chart - some components which can drop values as per their destination property.
    This is how you need to test
    - Add a test spreadsheet table component ( from selector category) and map all the cells that's included in the formula - the original range, the input values from the user interaction, and the final ranges with formula and the range to which chart is mapped to if different from the formula range.
    - Preview the dashboard and see whats going on in those cells and if they all are behaving as expected.
    - if the original data range and the input data are what you anticipate and not changed by any other variable you are not considering.
    Use more than one spreadsheet table if the ranges I suggested are not contiguous.
    Please try the above and post the updates.
    Thanks

  • Combination stacked bar and line chart

    Is there a way to create a combination stacked bar and line chart in Web Intelligence XI R2 reports?
    This can be done in Excel and I'm thinking that it should be possible in WebI reports too.

  • Charts (bar and line) in a tablix

    Hi, I need to do this:
    As you can see the bar graphic is inside the tablix (this is an excel sample btw), I found
    this tutorial and it really helped me, the problem is the line chart (this
    one was good too), in my report looks like this
    How can I make the lines appear between each marker?

    Hi mnjogin,
    How did you manage to combine bar and line into one graph?
    Pls advice.
    Thanks!

  • Urgent: Combination of stacked bar chart and line chart

    Hi,
    I have the following request: First I need series depending on the year (no problem) and two stacks for each series (first problem). Now I need two line, line 1 for total of stack 1 and line 2 for total of stack 2. Both lines should have a label showing the difference from one to next series in percent.
    Can something like this be done in BI Publisher. I got an excel sheet with such a chart, so it is possible there. Any templates, hints or tipps?
    I need this very urgent because it's the main report of my project. So if this is not working I can stop the project and have to find another reporting tool.
    Thanks

    I've made again some tests by myself and recognized that there's something strange in the chart.
    When I create a stacked bar chart with values of DURATION, labels for TYPE_NAME and series of YEAR the first thing is, that it is not ordered. So how can this be done?
    The second error, is hard to explain ...
    Let's say I've the following values:
            Type1     Type2     Type3
    2005    1            2             3
    2006    4            5             6
    2007    7            8             9I would expect the following chart:
    2005     2006     2007
    1             4          7            Type1
    2             5          8            Type2
    3             6          9            Type3But the chart shows me the following:
    2005     2006     2007
    1             7          4            Type1
    5             2          8            Type2
    3             6          9            Type3You can see, the values are totally mixed, the code of the chart is the following:
    chart:
    <Graph seriesEffect="SE_AUTO_GRADIENT" graphType="BAR_VERT_STACK">
    <Title text="" visible="true" horizontalAlignment="CENTER"/>
    <MarkerText visible="true" markerTextPlace="MTP_CENTER" />
    <LocalGridData colCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW,  'YEAR'))}" rowCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW,  'TYPE_NAME'))}">
    <RowLabels>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="TYPE_NAME">
    <Label>
    <xsl:value-of select="current-group()/TYPE_NAME"/>
    </Label>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowLabels>
    <ColLabels>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="YEAR">
    <Label>
    <xsl:value-of select="current-group()/YEAR"/>
    </Label>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </ColLabels>
    <DataValues>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="TYPE_NAME">
    <RowData>
    <xsl:for-each-group select="current-group()" group-by="YEAR">
    <Cell>
    <xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/DURATION)"/>
    </Cell>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowData>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </DataValues>
    </LocalGridData>
    </Graph>Otherwise I had made the following to have a stacked bar for duration and one for outage:
    chart:
    <Graph seriesEffect="SE_AUTO_GRADIENT" graphType="BAR_VERT_STACK">
    <Title text="" visible="true" horizontalAlignment="CENTER"/>
    <LocalGridData colCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW,  'YEAR')) * 2}" rowCount="{count(xdoxslt:group(.//ROW,  'TYPE_NAME'))}">
    <RowLabels>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="TYPE_NAME">
    <Label>
    <xsl:value-of select="current-group()/TYPE_NAME"/>
    </Label>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowLabels>
    <ColLabels>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="YEAR">
    <xsl:sort select="YEAR"/>
    <Label>
    <xsl:value-of select="current-group()/YEAR"/>
    </Label>
    <Label />
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </ColLabels>
    <DataValues>
    <xsl:for-each-group xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" select=".//ROW" group-by="TYPE_NAME">
    <RowData>
    <xsl:for-each-group select="current-group()" group-by="YEAR">
    <Cell>
    <xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/DURATION)"/>
    </Cell>
    <Cell>
    <xsl:value-of select="sum(current-group()/OUTAGE)"/>
    </Cell>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </RowData>
    </xsl:for-each-group>
    </DataValues>
    </LocalGridData>
    </Graph>The only thing I miss is a label for each stack, what is shown (so duration or outage) and of course the line.
    Thanks for any help

  • Problem in Combo chart columns and line

    I select chart type is  combo in my vc model  and select data series is columns and line.
    I define 5 series in the chart.
    once i deployed the model the output shows the columns are overwrite in stacked position.
    eg:
    series 1: 10%
    series 2: 20%
    series 3: 45%
    series 4: 25%
    series 5 is line type
    but in the chart the only one column will display,its top value 45% and itself shows 10% and 20% in different color.Don't show the 25% value on that column.
    How to display the chart columns in clustered type in combo chart.
    thanks in advance
    Aravind.S

    Hi
    When you select 'Combo Chart' you will not get options for 'Stacked or Clustered'. By default it will be 'Stacked' chart only. Combo charts are generally used for less number of data series. Normally these charts are best suitable for 2 Data series only.
    Still in your case is there any reason to use 'Combo Chart'? Consider following points -
    1. If you want to use this type of chart then selction of 'Columns + Line' will be difficult because it will treat only 'Last Data Series' as line & all others will be columns & what you said problem will appear.
    2. Instead of that select 'Column + Lines', so that only first 'Data series' will be column & rest all will be 'Lines'. So that you will get better visibility in that graph.
    I think this will help you, If you have nay problem let me know.

    Sandeep
