Multi-folio Next Steps?

I've created a multi-folio viewer, with "sample" material, published the free app and submitted it to Apple. While I wait for Apple's approval, I'm wrapping-up the folios that will follow. but will be for purchase. These folios seem to be working just fine and appearing as a download in Adobe Viewer app on the iPad.
For some reason, I can't wrap my head around what should be the next steps to publish the folios and submit to Apple. Do I create new certificates, does each new folio have a different bundle ID, what about product IDs? (I am using the same Adobe ID and using a Pro account.) How does everything connect?
I would appreciate some help getting over this hump.
Thanks!

It's hard to tell what in particular is confusing you, so I'll give a quick overview.
On the Adobe side, you use the Account Admin tool on the Dashboard to assign the application role to the Adobe ID that you use to create and publish your folios. In Viewer Builder, you specify this Adobe ID in the "Title ID" field. Any folio you publish when signed in using this Adobe ID appears in your app's library. It sounds like you understand that part. When you publish a folio, each separate issue should have its own Product ID. Use the format "com.publisher.publication.issue." (If you're creating folio renditions to make the same issue available on different platforms such as iPhone and iPad, use the same Product ID for the different renditions of that issue.)
On the Apple side, you create one App ID for your app, along with the certificates and provisioning files. If you're selling retail content, you need to use iTunes Connect to create a Product ID for each issue. Again, use the "com.publisher.publication.issue" format. This Product ID should be identical the Product ID you specify on the Adobe side when publishing the folio as Public and Retail. In iTunes Connect, you submit these In App Purchases to Apple for approval. Apple opens the distribution app you submit and inspects the public folios you publish.
If you have a subscription app, you also need to create a Product ID for each duration. Use the "com.publisher.publication.duration" format. You specify these Product IDs when setting up the subscription app in Viewer Builder.

  • How do I publish my next edition of my Multi-folio app?

I was wondering if someone could help me.
I've created my second edition to my multi-folio app in Adobe Folio Producer. I am just wondering how you go about created the next (like a magazine). Do I have to go through all the steps that I did when I created my first app in DPS App Builder?
Also how to you upload to iTunesConnect? If it's the same app just the next issue (like a magazine)? I don't see anything that says next issue, just Add Version but I'm sure that's not the same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Michelle

    Hello Bob,
I'm probably asking a stupid question then. How do you publish it? Through DPS Folio Producer? So you don't have to create another app or certificates or anything? That seems simple!

  • Generate next publication in multi folio app

Hi, How can I generate a next publication in my multi folio app in iPad, if I´ve published and notificated these new publication?

Use the same Folio Producer Account (Title id in DPS App Builder) to publish folios as 'Public'. When you do that, the folios will be available in your App. For Paid issues, you also need to create in-app purchases and use the same product id as the folio.

  • Creating a Multi Folio App from InDesign?

    Hi all --
Situation is that I have a login for an Enterprise/Pro account and I can see that all of the other apps are Multi Folio. However, when I hit Create App, it gets added no problem but its a Single-Edition.
I was told that if I want to push updates that happen instantly, it has to be a multi folio app and that single editions apps need to be completely resubmitted and it can take another 2 weeks before it's updated.
How do I create or CHANGE this single edition app to a multi folio so I can push updates to it that happen quickly?
If I hit "NEW" in the DPS App Builder and select multi folio, how does it know what my app files are?
    Thanks!

I am pretty certain we do because when I go to the app builder, I can can see multiple apps that are live including muli-folio ones. We were just given a login to this account that falls under this umbrella.
So, once I have added the app and published it, via the Folio Producer online, what would do I do next to get the .ipa and .zip I need? Would I use the DPS App Builder, create new, and make sure that the email/app ID is the same login as the Folio Producer one and it will just recognize it?

  • Multi-folio: submitting and approval

My project has been given the go ahead and we are nearing launch.
I have read the Adobe Publishing Companion Guide for iPad, searched the forum, and Googled but could not find answers on how a multi-folio app is submitted and approved. I understand that a multi-folio app is an Adobe DPS feature based on a shell/container library app. Does the multi-folio viewer app get submitted to Apple? If so, do I need to do a layout for it (will be using a Professional license)?
Is there a step-by-step guide that I missed that details the creation and submission of a multi-folio app?
    Thanks,
    Joe

You need to submit that app to Apple but you also need to make sure there is some content available to be downloaded immediately for review. You can have your first issue published as free and public or perhaps a sample issue.

  • Cloud App Action Service - how let contacts continue through to the next step?

I have created an eloqua cloud app with an action service.
To test it, I am creating a multi-step campaign which is really simple:
A segment with a couple of members flows into my action cloud service, which then flows into something else like an email or something.
However, I am having trouble getting the contacts to flow through the cloud service action step: they all seem to be stuck there and are not continuing.
According to both the Bulk 2.0 api documentation and the sites on making an action service (Develop an AppCloud Action Service),
when contacts flow into the action service step, eloqua will request out to my notification url (I am getting this successfully),
after that, I am to respond with some status code, and the example is a 204 status code followed by an asynchronous bulk data import/export.
My action doesn't require any import or export, and my goal is to either do my work and respond back that I am finished, or if it will take some time: respond back to have eloqua wait, then send a request later that I am finished.
After this, the contacts can flow on to the next step in the campaign canvas.
So, I realize that after I get the notification I can respond with a 204 status to let eloqua know that I will use the bulk api's async calls to import/export data.
But what other statuses can I use if I don't want to or don't need to use the async api calls?
Can I just return a 200 status if I am done and want eloqua to proceed to the next campaign step?
Can I return some status to make eloqua wait for me to do some processing on my side, followed by some status to let eloqua proceed?
I have tried several different 200 level statuses and none of them seem to let my contacts move on to the next step.
    Please help.
    thanks,
    Chris

No you will need to update their status using an Import. You can not just use your Response.
What you are talking about requires you to respond back by performing a BULK Import action of "SetStatus" with a status of "Complete"
    See:
    Develop an AppCloud Action Service
I am actually doing this for the first time myself just this moment. Its not hard but I am struggling with the ML to provide it a Destination that is likes.

  • How to migrate single folio app into multi folio app when each were created w/ different adobe id

I have a single folio app in iTunes that was created using adobe ID "A". I also have a multi folio app in iTunes that was created using adboe ID "B".  How do I migrate the single folio app into the new multi folio app, ensuring that apple sees it as an update so users of the single folio app are notified of an update. Both apps were published using the same apple distribution id. Step-by-step help would be greately appreciated.

In your case, I would create a multi-folio version of the app and then use iTunes Connect to submit it as an update to the previous version of the app. When users update the app, they'll lose the folio that was previously baked into the app, but they can download that folio—and others—from the library of the new version. You'll want to make those folios available in Adobe ID 'B', which should be the Title ID you use when you build the app. I think all you need to do for your existing customers is describe the change to the app in the update description in iTunes Connect.

  • Multi folio app not showing in .ipa

hello i just created a multi folio app, when i finished  and test it in my ipad the folio didnt apear, what could be the problem?
i log in to the app builder and create my app with the the adobe id that i susbcribed to the dps pro, and not with the valid Adobe ID that has been assigned the DPS App Builder role using the Account Administration tool, that could be the problem?
    thanks

You should follow the steps in our publishing guide: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Adobe_Publishing_Companion_Guide_for_iPad.pdf.
Start on page 9 which explains the types of accounts you need to set up and how to publish your folios.

  • Multi Folio App first Issue

    Hello
I'm struggling to display the first issue in my multi folio app.
I made a multi folio app in DPS builder. For test purposes I downloaded the ipa file.
All good. The App apears on my ipad. and worked fine. The Libryry is empty by now.
As a second step I wanted to load it with my first issue.
I created a new folio in InDesign and published it in the Folio Producer/Organiser.
Using the same Adobe ID as I have used for the multi issue app in the DPS builder.
But the Library is still empty.
Any sugestions, where my fault is?

    - Yes the folio is published as public
    - Yes the Adobe ID is the same. Even for loginto DPS Builder
    - About the product ID I'm unsure. In the folio manager I typed as product ID the same as the app ID is, in the DPS Builder
Actually it was not clear to me where the product ID has to come from.

  • Multi Folio Entitlement Question

This is what I see in DPS App Builder (below). Why don't I see Multi Folio options available here?
I set up the new Adobe ID in our Admin account and gave the user full privileges. Is there a step I missed?
    Why don't I see this:

Did you launch DPS App Builder from your Applications folder? If not, you should do that. If you choose Create App from the panel menu, you're forced into a single-folio app.

  • Empty Viewer on Test iPad for multi folio iTunes Free Subscription

    Hello,
I'm trying to test a free subscription, multi folio newsstand app with renditions. However, the viewer opens without any folios - just the subscription tiles. I've triple checked the Apple product IDs, shared secrets and have all of the appropriate certificates. I'm at my wit's end! A few questions:
Should free subscriptions folios be public/free or retail? I'm reading conflicting things.
I'm a little unsure of the order in which I should publish folios in the folio producer. Should this step proceed or follow creating the .ipa for testing?
Does this naming of the actual folios matter, as long as they are the same? I only need the same exact Product ID for iTunes Connect and the App Builder, correct?
I've noticed that after you enter your shared secret there is a field to enter an iTunes url in the Admin Tool. Which url do we use? Do we enter this after the folio is public?
    Thanks!
    Darin

Free subscriptions should be Public/Free, not Retail.
It doesn't matter which order you publish the folios and create the .ipa for testing. When you publish the folios as Free and Public, they should appear in your testing app if (A) you specified the shared secret, (B) published the folios as Public/Free, (C) set up your renditions/folios correctly, and (D) specified the free subscription Product ID created in iTunes Connect in the DPS App Builder.
When you set up renditions for a subscription app, the Folio Name, Product ID, and Publication Date values need to be the same for all renditions, and different for each set of renditions. Specify the Publication Date values by choosing from the calendar picker.
Yes, the iTunes URL becomes available when you publish the app.

  • Issues with MacBook hard drive - next steps to take?

    Hello,
I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro that I purchased in early 2010 which came with Snow Leopard, later upgraded to Mountain Lion.  The other day my machine completely froze up during run-of-the-mill web browsing.  When I tried to manually restart, I got stuck on the gray Apple screen with the rotating circle for over an hour.  I haven't been able to boot regularly since.  I tried resetting the PRAM - nothing.
I tried booting to the Recovery drive, which worked at first, but when I would run Disk Utility, the Macintosh HD drive would suddenly randomly disappear from the Disk Utility sidebar during Verify or Repair operations, and then the system would just hang/freeze.  Now I can't boot into Recovery at all - it just hangs on the gray Apple screen.  I tried booting from a Snow Leopard install DVD and Disk Utility does the same thing - recognizes Mac HD at first, but it disappears from Disk Utility when I try to do anything.
I tried using a Diskwarrior DVD, and Diskwarrior does not recognize the hard drive at all - it only sees the Diskwarrior DVD.
When I boot into single user mode and run fsck -yf it says everything is OK.  If I press Option while booting both Mac HD and Recovery show up, but I can't get into either anymore.
I opened up my laptop to make sure everything looked okay, and aside from a little dust, the HD cable seemed secure and connected.
I have some stuff on my HD that isn't backed up that I would like to be able to recover.  So what would the next step be?  I'm not sure if this is a failed HD issue or a failed cable issue.  Should I buy an enclosure for my HD and see if I can get it going externally?  Would that be the best way to see if it is the drive and not the cable?  An enclosure is cheaper than buying a new SATA cable, so I'm hoping that's where I can start.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes.  See if the HDD will boot the MBP via a USB connection.  You should probably have an external HDD for backups or a possible replacement of your boot drive.
    Ciao.

  • I am trying to restore a phone on iTunes, but the setup page doesn't go on to the next step. What do I do?

My iPhone 4S was stolen, so until I could get or buy another, I am using my husband's old 3GS.  When I connect to iTunes, the left column recognizes the phone. Then I see the Setup page.  It asks whether you have a new phone to add, or restore from a previous backup of my original 4S.  I click restore from back up and click continue.  It restores the 3GS, but the page doesnt move on to the next step.  I have restored multiple times.  The page/screen stays the same.  What should I do? Am I doing something wrong?

You could follow the instructions in the support document that you linked from. There is a section regarding the passcode and the inability to use it or enter it. However, you may encounter more issues since you cannot use the screen.

I was trying to do a favor for my gf, and I accidentily on purpose uninstalled bonjour. It has seemed to really screw up iTunes for me.  What are my next steps to get this back to normal? I have downloaded and using the icloud and ios5. I have two iPhones 3gs and our iPad2. And our computer is windows xp(yes it is time for an upgrade)

Try the troubleshooting help here.  http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/
You may need to restore your iPhone.
If it won't restore, try here. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If nothing helps, you need to contact Verizon for information for an exchange or refund. This is a user to user forum, not Apple.
Apple's policy for a refund or exchange is within 14 days of purchase. Verizon's policy may be different.
Definitely try restoring .. hopefully you won't have to go through the hassle of an exchange.
