Multiline variables are truncated in a Word task " Document from template"

Hi everyone,
Id like to know if somebody have had the situation described below and how can I solve it.
The problem is when I try to write in a word document (task created as a Document from template) a container element declared as a Abap dictionary referenced as TLINE-TDLINE (Char 132) with multiline flag activated, because when this variable has more than 3 lines during the execution of the workflow, the word document doesnt gets the whole value, it means the value is truncated and the word document just write or get 2 and a half lines (almost 350 or 400 characters) and I dont know why the rest of the value of this variable is missed.
Does somebody knows what could be happen?, Does SAP have some kind of limit of the amount of characters to be written in a word document with a multiline variable? Theres a bug in the system and a note to be applied? What can I do to write a variable wit multiple number of lines without missing any one?

I have had a formal answer from SAP (OSS Note) for this issue, and It is no good at all to me (notes 375669, 559234, 724755);
1. Theres a restriction on the length for text variables 80 characters
2. to implement a long text you need to put several variables together
If any one has another solution, I would appreciate your comments.

The error message is "Download failed. Connection to server was reset."
Is there some obvious setting that I am missing here?

Generating Word 2007 document from RH X5

Is there a work-around for generating printed documetation in
RH X5 with Word 2007? If not, is there a version that is compatible

How to print my microsoft word 2010 document from my hp photosmart c4780

I just installed microsoft professional office to my hp Pavilion g7-1167 dx Notebook PC. I created a document using microsoft word, and when I print it, it only prints part of each page. Do I need an update for my printer? Or is there another way to fix this?

To save a word/xls document from server machine to client

Hi Folks,
I am facing a problem in storing a document from server to client machine.
I have a document in Oracle database BLOB column and i am able to read and open that document in client browser. But it is stored in the server machine when accessing from the client browser it is opening as a read only copy.
I want to open it as editable copy in client machine and once it is edited i want to save back to the databse. But it can be stored in server or client machine without promting to the user.
Any one can help me?

Hi, I am wondering whether this will take time for a document/image which is about 3, 4 MB??? Cos customer has to scan documents one by one and the saving of the file in the DB and then using that to transfer to MSMQ (which is the requirement) should take less time than scanning 2 documents.

The Evolution (Open Source Mail Reader) project for example uses the MS Exchange web service interface to provide a seamless interface to Exchange mail accounts (have used this everyday for a number of years now).
The real question I would however ask is why Word specifically? Why not a more common format like PDF? You can even consider generating XML instead. Both Microsoft and Open Office and others are supporting XML formatted word processing documents (as oppose to older proprietary and binary formats).
And why not use a Report Writer? I'm a big fan of doing as much as possible in Oracle (using PL/SQL most of the time). But certain things, like generating Word-style documents would be better done (and more flexible too) using a Report Writer.

One of OIM email templates is Task Status Email Notification. I am trying to notify the user (Notification tab) using this template but it didn't work. Even when I set the Object Name and Process Name values for an email definition, it does not work.
How have you implemented task status notification in your workflows? I think if this template exists in OIM, by default, so it is posible to have the information below during notifications.
I think I'll have to call Oracle's Support.

I didn't get any answer until now.. Below it is what I've done.
a) Create an entity adapter that is assigned to the post-update of the Specific Task Info data object.
b) Select the task information searching by SCH_KEY, for example (I have to do more tests)

With that I solved another problem: I have to send an e-mail always the assignee adds a note to the task.

I need to show him data in two columns one cloumn for the entered day range and second column for prevoius month date rangei.e(01.05.2011 to 25.05.2011)

Check variable against an array of words

Hi,
I wish to check a variable for a number of words that are in
a array.
Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but this is what i
have.
I have my own counter system that counts every visitor, but
some of these visits are from BOTS, spiders..
So i wish to have a method of searching the HTTP_USER_AGENT
for certain words i put in a array.
What i am after is how i get the words in an array and how i
then get the script to check the HTTP_USER_AGENT for a word in the
array and if so it will not complete the script. (not add to the
counter)
if none of the words are in the HTTP_USER_AGENT then it will
add to the counter.
so something like?

Text Variables are not being Displayed in the Output of the Query

We have some column headings , which are populated through the Text Vaiables , But in the Query Ouptput only the tech names of the Text variables are being displayed . can anyone tell me why its happening like this . I want to debug the Query , please guide me in this regard

Click on the properties of the infoobject enter the name of the description and next to that you can see the X/? buttion click on the this button and select the field/if the proper field is not there then create a field descriton and select. i hope this is works and correct me if i am wrong. for debuggin the query use a transaction code- RSRT.

How can I get past the error message "Variables are not compatible DMB00"?

I'm working in Desktop Intelligence XI and I'm using an Excel data provider and a universe data provider. I've linked the two providers on the common field "Cost_Code". The Excel data provider also has a "Cost_Code_Descr_xls" field so I've created a new variable that makes this description field a detail object associated with the "Cost_Code" dimension. This allows me to use both objects in the report.
Some of the cost codes in my universe data provider are not found in my cost_code Excel provider so I'm trying to create a simple formula to deal with these null values:
= if isnull(<Cost_Code_Descr_xls>) then "Unclassified" else <Cost_Code_Descr_xls>
This is where I get the "Variables are not compatible" error.
Any ideas on how to get around this error?

Hi David,
I might have been a bit to quick with just saying that the only thing you needed to do was replacing the object with the variable you created.
The variable is only compatible with 'Cost Code' dimension, but not with any of the other dimensions in the report. Your header probably only contains the 'Cost Code' dimension and as such the formula isn't giving any problems. But your details contain ohter incompatible dimensions.
What you need to do is also create detail variables for the other dimensions and relate those to the 'Cost Code' dimension. Use those newly created detail variables in your report.

the Formatted Search for prices is OK, but for the Item locations in warehouse this is not so simple,
I must have several (at least 2) locations for the item in the Warehouse and a track of this location and search possibilities.

I added a user table '@Location' who linked to a user field 'U_Location in Item master data --> lnventory data line and an ather user field 'U_Location' in sales order
I met the value of location in the table (list of locations for any warehouse), I select the location of each item while receiving merchandise in the user field of inventory data line (Item M data) and this value appears in the sales order 'U_Location' user field ( only the location value in the default warehouse for this Item)
or
create an user field 'location' in Good receipt PO to fill it while receiving merchandise that appears in the sales order to give possibility to find/select the location of the item at this order and in Item master data
I think we will use all these tables

Web Variables are being displayed and they shouldn't be

Hi, Our web template is configured to not present the variable screen when the variables are populated. For some reason after I added the dynamic tab functionality using the SAP_BW_URL command our variables screens are appearing after selecting a tab. When the screen appears all of the variables are populated and some of the variables are not melted. The only thing our SAP_BW_URL command does is reset a dataprovider.

We have set our template to "Reset Variables to Default" and "display same variable only once".
Anyone know why I am seeing the variable screens after I select a tab even though I have the correct settings and the variables values are all prepopulated?

this is a tricky situation:
just assume the following scenario (this is what I have seen when I had a glimpse on your original post)
- In your template you have 2 DataProvider DP1 and DP2
- DP1 is assigned to a table item and points initially to some query (A)
- DP2 is not assigned to a web item and points initially to some query (B)
- Query B has some mandatory variable
- Now when you call your web template the variable screen will be displayed (Variable for DP2 (query B))
- You enter a value and submit the variable screen
- Now you reset DP1 to another query (ok it's query B (which you already used as DP, but the system won't check this while resetting the variable screen). Now the (new) query has a unfilled variable. The system needs to bring up the variable screen.
- As we have now 2 variables (one already filled (during start of your template) and one still initiall. They have different default values and won't be melted.
- You get a variable screen with 2 variables
- And they just have the same value, because the system remembers the last entered value and already writes it in the input field.
The parameter reset variables to default is only relevant for views (mainly during first initialization of template). With your command you didn't change DP2.

Solution: In BW 3.5 there's a possbility to pass filters and variables to another Query with the command RESET_DATA_PROVIDER (parameter rri=X)
in BW < 3.5 I would recommend to not use RESET_DATA_PROVIDER, but creating different table items, which are initially hidden and just hide/unhide the correct tables ...

Integrate html tags in a string and display it in a multiline text area

First of all let me tell you that I'm working in ACCENTURE Casablanca(Morocco) and this is my first Job in my career.
I'm working on an ALV OO, the program consists on creating an ALV using OO, In my selection screen there's a parameter of type ddobjname I provide the name of table and it returns the table's fields in another dynpro (screen0100), To do this I used the FM: 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET' then I append the internal table returned in another one to add the field CB (CheckBox), and I add a button in the toolbar, the function of this button is to generate a MySQL script To create the table provided by the user in my parameter (Screen 1000), but the fields of this table(MySQL) in the generated script are only the selected ones by cheking the checkbox in the ALV.
I store my script in a string.
My problem is that I want to show my script in a text area, but I don't know how to create a multiline text area!!
And I want to use HTML tags in my string.
I don't want to my string like this :
