Multilingual Expression for Calculated fields

Hi all,
I need to write an expression for a multilingual Calculated field.(The calculation need to take the logon language into consideration). When looging onto the Console however and selecting languages the set languages are not auto selected as it does for Validations. The only fields available for selection is the Primary language fields.
Is their a way to create a multilingual Expression for Calculated fields and how can I go about it?
Thanking You
Chris Huggett

Hello Chris
That functionality is not supported in SAP MDM 7.1(5.5)
You cannot modify from validation filed values by language different than your connection language.
You can do it manually in Data Manager or during import.
As usually you can use MDM API for that activity.

  • Conditional formating for calculated fields

    Hi,
What i need to do is apply a diferent format for some itens on the reports.
I have some fields that are calculated in the script logic, so in the excel report it is shown as any other field where you can type the value, but that value gets overiten once the script logic takes place.
So what i need to do is add a new collum at the dimention for example "CALCULATED" and when it's set to Y the field would be shown in the form with a diferent formula.
And further on, add automtic comment to that cell, showing how that field is calculated.
    Thanks in advance

    Hey all,
the CALC property in BPC refers only to hierarchie nodes. If you wanna highlight calculated nodes, this will be the solution for you. But, if you wanna highlight values in your report, which are calculated by a script logic and which are not necessarily hierarchie nodes, you'll have to add another property different from CALC in your dimension and flag the calculated values.
If you're done, you can refer to this property in your format range.
    Example:
    Dimension - Property - Value: ACCOUNT - SCRIPTCALC - 1
    Formatrange - Criteria: ACCOUNT.SCRIPTCALC = 1
    Have a nice day!

  • Boolean expression for calculation problem

    Hi experts,
I have following Keyfigures arranged in my Report:
    A  | B | AB | C | D | CD
*A,B,C,D are key figures in column
Now the user has demanded that they want to see only positive numbers in that Report and add all negative numbers in one column
    Desired:
    A (Only More than 0) | B (Only More than 0) | AB | C (Only More than 0) | D  (Only more than 0) | CD | ABC+D(where A,B,C,D are less than 0) * -1
I know I have to do it using formula and boolean expression but dont know how.

Create new Calculated KFs using Boolean operators  and hide original KFs.
    (A > 0) * A
    (B > 0) *B ....
    Similarly others
    ((ABCD) <0)*(ABCD)  for -ve values

  • ADF Groovy Expression for calculation

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11gR2. For a transcient attribute in a VO, I must add an expression that will calculate and return a value according to a business rule.
    I.e. if 'Standard' then column a * 0.3 or column b * 0.3
               elsif 'Premium' then column c * 0.3
else 'Luxury' then column d * 0.3 Of course, using the appropriate Groovy expression. Does anyone have an example I could try?
    Thanks!
    Edited by: user545194 on 02.02.2013 07:28

for example if att is the attribute that you want to calculate and it depend on val attribute
the groovy exp is done on att
    if(val=='Standard') return a * 0.3
    else if(val=='Premium') return c * 0.3
    else if(val=='Luxury') return d * 0.3
you must add attribute val, a, c ,d to the dependent attribute
    hope it helps

  • SSRS Using WHERE in a calculated field

    Hi All,
Im having a real issue with something that seems like it should be easier than it is.
In my tablix I want to add the expression =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value)-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value) BUT I need to determine if another criteria is met.
    EG - I want =Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="In")-Sum(Fields!ID20.Value WHERE [InOut]="Out")
    Many Thanks for any help

    Hi LB79,
In Reporting Services, Aggregate functions cannot be used in calculated field expressions, since the data for calculated fields will be based on individual rows not on group basis. As a workaround, we can directly add the expression to a textbox of the tablix
instead of using that calculated field. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
Right click the text box which you want to insert the calculated field, then click Expression.
In the Expression text box, refer to the following expression:
    =sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="In", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")-sum(iif(Fields!InOut.Value ="Out", Fields!ID20.Value,0),"DataSet_name")
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,

  • How to keep a calculation field blank until the user enters a number?

I am building a sales sheet for a school that sells scrip as a fund-raiser. I have the document set so that when the user enters the number of scrip certificates he wants (say, two $25 gift certificates at Lowe's), the program will automatically calculate that this user owes $50 for that scrip category. However, there are more than 100 companies that one can choose from, and if the user doesn't enter a number, the calculated field shows $0. Is there a way that each field can stay blank until the user enters a number bigger than zero? By the way, I'm using this calculation to determine the value (borrowed from a user on this forum): event.value = 50 * this.getField("Lowes").value
    Thanks!

There are two approaches. You can either add the following Validate script:
// Custom Validate script for calculated field
    if (+event.value !== 0) event.value = "";
Or you can change your custom Calculate script and set the Format type of the field to "None":
    // Custom Calculate script
    (function () {
        var v = +getField("Lowes").value;
        event.value = (v !== 0) ? util.printf("$%.2f", v) : "";

  • Expression for a gauge in VC

    Hi,
I'm new to VC. Trying to create a gauge on a query. In my iview, I have a query which displays data in a table (Force Element and Material Readiness).
I added a form view connecting it with the table. In the form, i added a gauge "NUM1". now I'm trying to enter an expression for this field but have no idea how to do this.
    Please help.

    Hi Frank,
Try the below steps to create a gauge control.
    1. Open the 'Properties' of Gauge control(num1) using right click option.
    2. In the 'General' tab set 'Expression' as @name(data field which you want to show using gauge and the data field should be  numeric).
    3. In Range' tab set the maximum and minimum range as you like.
    4. Now deploy the model.

  • 7.1 -- still refreshing calculated fields when loading?

    Hello.
In 5.5 MDM would update calculated fields when loading a repository, which could lead to very long loading times in large repositories. Anyone knows if this was changed in 7.1?
    Alon

    Hi Alon
Release notes for MDM 7.1 says Loading process for a repository has been optimized and reduced from earlier versions.
But nowhere explicitly mentions the work done for calculated fields.
    hope this minimal info helps.
    best regards

  • Answers - would like to use calculated field's name, not expression

    Hi Everyone,
I'am trying to make several calculated fields in a single query in Answers. Each field references the previous one, and the expression of the first one is already 5 rows long.
Now I reference it in the second calculated field by using "Edit Formula" -> "Column" -> 'Colum name'.
My problem is, that it puts the expression of the previous field, not it's name. I have to use it for almost 10 times in this single expression, so -although it works fine- it is totally unreadable, and very hard to debug for example.
And after all, I should use this field again, in several next calculated fields.
Does anyobody have an idea, how to make calculated fields having only the name of referenced other fields in it?
The repo is set for ad hoc reporting also, so using session variables which need to be set in Administrator Tool, is not an option.
    Thanks for help in advance.

    Hi Venkat,
thanks for the response. It would work, no doubt, in this special case, the problem is, that users use the repo for ad-hoc reporting aswell (and they don't have access to repo administration of course), so one can count on it, that there would be a new request of this kind every day to change the repo with customized user variables. I would like to avoid this of course.
Having the name of a referenced field in a new expression would be a simple solution. Is it possible, that it can't be done?

  • What is advisable for complex calculation fields in ADF?

    Hi,
I am using JDev 11.1.1.2.0 with ADF 11g.
I have a screen where user is going to select couple of LOVs. Based on this selection one of my "read only field" should get refreshed.
This field should actually do calculation based on the 2 fields and another column of a table.
So for such cases is it advisable to build a function and call this from a binding method OR there is a better way of displaying a calulated field.
    NOTE:
    1. using the expression on a transient field is good if the calculated fields are available in the row. Here I have to fetch a value from a completely different table's column that is not present in the row. Again the value that will be fetched will depend on some other parameter which is available to me in the session
    2. I am looking out to make this generic since these combination of fields are repeated in few of the screens and for same calculations
Kindly advice the ways in which this can be handled. And pls point the best from your view point.
    Thanks in advance.

    Any quick suggestion?

  • Calculating and Displaying the Total for a field

    Hi all,
I have a template that must have a field's total at the end of each page. I use <?add-page-total: InvAmt;’ ACCOUNTEDDR’?> for calculating the sum and<?show-page-total:InvAmt; 'C9G990D00';'(C9G990D00)'?> for showing the total. Its coming up properly.
But on the last page i need the total of all the pages. I tried putting up <xdofo:inline-total display-condition="everytime" name=" InvAmt "> <xdofo:show-carry-forward name="InvAmt " format="99G999G999D00"/> in the footer but its printing the whole code as such. I tried to do a sum <?sum (ACCOUNTEDDR)?> after the for-each, but its returning a NaN. I couldnt find a solution for this.
    Please help.

The NaN display that you get is probably due to some nulls. Filter out the nulls: <?sum(ACCOUNTEDDR[.!=''])?>
For last page only content, take a look at the section "Last Page Only Content" in the guide here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12187.pdf

  • Need code for calculation of amount field(DMBTR)of BSEG table conditionally

    Hi all,
I am selecting data for fields belnr(A/c doc.), dmbtr(Amount), hkont(G/L acc) from  bseg cluster table giving the particular value for hkont in the selection screen.now there are some records fetched out of which there are few records in which same A/c no.(belnr) .So my requirement is to collect those same belnr records and do following calculation:
    1. suppose for some record of same belnr , if all the value for field SHKZG is 'H' then summing up the values of field DMBTR.
    2. suppose for some record of same belnr , if few value for the field SHKZG is 'H'  and few are 'S' then the                                  (summation the values of field DMBTR for all 'H' in field SHKZG  -summation the values of field DMBTR for all 'S') and both the case the single record will fetched with belnr, sum(DMBTR) according to the condition, and hkont. Please provide me the reqd. code for the above problem. Thanks in advance.
    regards
    Anand.

    Hi Anand,
    We can do like this.
This will take into account 'S', 'H' (debit/credit indicator) and BELNR wise sum.
    1. Create new internal table, STAB with only two fields. (with header line)
        BELNR    "<------- refer below statement
HKONT    "<------ Whatever unique combination of field(s) you want, you can put here 1,2,
        DMBTR    "<----
    Numeric field
If you want only HKONT wise SUM, then remove BELNR
    2. Now write this code.
    Loop at Itab.
    Clear STAB.
    IF ITAB-SHKZG = 'H'.
    STAB-DMBTR = ITAB-DMBTR.
    else.
    STAB-DMBTR =  - ITAB-DMBTR. "<----- Negative Sign
    endif.
    STAB-BELNR = ITAB-BELNR.
    STAB-HKONT = ITAB-HKONT.
    COLLECT STAB. "<------ Important.
    Endloop
    Note:
Based upon the alphanumeric fields combination (BELNR and HKONT), the sum will be done.
Similar to group by in a select query

  • Best Solution for Creating an Onlne Purchase order form with multiple calculation fields

I am a bit confused.  Our school has a Forms Central account which works great for our registration forms but I need to find a solution for creating an online purchase form with multiple calculation fields - I know that forms central does not support calculation fields (too bad) but I know that Acrobat Pro does... soooo...
Can you create the forms in Acrobat and then somehow integrate the advanced features into forms central?  Do they talk to each other?  Is this easy to do? .... I guess another way to putting it is can you create the forms in Acrobat including all of the advanced features for payment calculation and then host it online using Forms Central to manage and collect the data? (I guess that really is my question)
Thanks (how does this compare to a solution like Formstack?)

    Hi, thanks.
The naming convention was the consistant up until a point when I read that you need a '.' syntax (?!) - does anyone know if this is true?
Attached is a version with Bernd Alheit's suggestion and with all the naming of the fields being consistant. It's still not working for me though after doing this and I'm stuck as to why, because I think it should work. I've also tried writing the calcualting line of code in the same manner that Bernd Alheit suggests before I came on here, and it wouldn't work then.
As with any coding, it must be something to which I have done, but I can't see it anywhere
Any ideas? Thanks for helping me
    Cheers

  • Cannot select fields for calculating other fields~

Help -- I am tryiing to get certain fiels in a form to calculate based on selection of other fields.  The fields to be selected already have values in them.  (The same format I have used for several years, just new set of forms)
I get through the point of setting up the field properties to calculate and I select Sum of...   Then it simply will not let me select any fields to use for calculations -- unless I select all fields.
Please -- this is time sensitive and urgent any help responses needed and welcome!

Sounds like you are having issues with Acrobat and not FormsCentral. You would get a better help if you post your question on the Acrobat's forum
