Conditional formating for calculated fields

Hi,
What i need to do is apply a diferent format for some itens on the reports.
I have some fields that are calculated in the script logic, so in the excel report it is shown as any other field where you can type the value, but that value gets overiten once the script logic takes place.
So what i need to do is add a new collum at the dimention for example "CALCULATED" and when it's set to Y the field would be shown in the form with a diferent formula.
And further on, add automtic comment to that cell, showing how that field is calculated.
Thanks in advance
Leandro Brasil

Hey all,
the CALC property in BPC refers only to hierarchie nodes. If you wanna highlight calculated nodes, this will be the solution for you. But, if you wanna highlight values in your report, which are calculated by a script logic and which are not necessarily hierarchie nodes, you'll have to add another property different from CALC in your dimension and flag the calculated values.
If you're done, you can refer to this property in your format range.
Example:
Dimension - Property - Value: ACCOUNT - SCRIPTCALC - 1
Formatrange - Criteria: ACCOUNT.SCRIPTCALC = 1
Have a nice day!

  • Apply conditional formatting for a textbox in a matrix that contains an expression

    I have a matrix that contains one row, and one of the columns in this row (a field ) contains an expression. I know this field is "Textbox24" but anyway, I have created a placeholder for this field and in Placeholder Properties I have given the
    label "PD". Note that the Value in this placeholder shows "Expr" because it contains an expression.
    I don't think this is relevant, but just in case, the expression is:
    =Code.GetPercentageDifferenceBetweenCurrentAndPreviousValue()
    where GetPercentageDifferenceBetweenCurrentAndPreviousValue is custom code for the report which returns a decimal value. This works correctly in Preview mode.
    I now want to apply conditional formatting on this field so the colour of the font changes depending on the value of the expression. I clicked on the text box of that field, and in Properties > Color > Expression > I entered
    =IIF(Fields!PD.Value >= 50,"Green","Black")
    When I go to Preview mode I get the error "The Color expression for the text box 'Textbox24' refers to the field 'PD'. Report item expression can only refer to fields within the current dataset scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified
    data set."
    I have tried a couple of other forms of the sytax for Fields!PD.Value but it doesn't work. Is my problem a syntax problem or a scope problem, and how do I solve it?
    Thank you

    From your description, PD is not a field so you cannot reference it as a field. You can do what you want by referring to the textbox:
    =IIf(ReportItems!Textbox24.Value >= 50."Green","Black")

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change date format for ‘Created’ field in the getVersions web service.
    Per my knowledge, you can get the date format for ‘Created’ field as “MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a”.
    For more information, you can refer to:

  • Multilingual Expression for Calculated fields

    Hi all,
    I need to write an expression for a multilingual Calculated field.(The calculation need to take the logon language into consideration). When looging onto the Console however and selecting languages the set languages are not auto selected as it does for Validations. The only fields available for selection is the Primary language fields.
    Is their a way to create a multilingual Expression for Calculated fields and how can I go about it?
    Thanking You
    Chris Huggett

    Hello Chris
    That functionality is not supported in SAP MDM 7.1(5.5)
    You cannot modify from validation filed values by language different than your connection language.
    You can do it manually in Data Manager or during import.
    As usually you can use MDM API for that activity.

  • Asterisk format for password field.

    Hello every one.
    I have to create 'PASSWORD' field in screen painter but this field should be in encoded format

    How can I create asterisk format for PASSWORD field in module pool?
    How can I show this type of field in runtime environment?
    The screen element for password is input/output field.
    Ex:- I have created username and password field in module pool screen programming (screen same as login screen of SAP) but I have to shown password field in encoded format menas with asterisk.
    Waiting for your opinion....

  • Conditionally Format Cross Tab Field

    I have a cross tab report that I want to conditionally format text color if row# 5 meets my criteria. Below is the formula I am trying in the Format Field editor.
    if {@Type} = "8=POH"
    then crred
    (I have also tried adding the else statement.....else crblack)
    I get no results when I try this. I can change the text color via the formatting toolbar, but this changes all data in all 6-8 rows.
    Is there another method to conditionally format the row, or is it just not possible?
    Thanks

    I just learned this yesterday, so here goes.
    In the suppresion formula for the column total, enter the following expression:
    numberVar x:=0;
    False;
    This is going to reset the row count for each column
    Then in the suppression formula for the summary field, enter the following expression:
    numberVar x := x + 1;
    False;
    And in the font color conditional formual, use the following expression:
    numberVar X;
    if (X = 5) and ({@Type} = "8=POH") then crRed else crNoColor;
    This should give you a red 5th row if the type condition is met

    Who cautions that he does not know what the {@Type} formula contains and that it might need to be modified to be used in this context...

  • Document Numbering Formats for Extended Fields

    Hi, experts.
         I want to create a document numbering formats for my extended fields.
         1) I want to add my document numbering format to Fine Tune Activity.
              2) I want something like this. But I want to add more fields to the following screen like a prefix and some other validations.
              3) I want to use that numbering formats for my extended fields.
                 Are those possible?
      Regards,
      Fred.

    Hi, Horst.
         Thanks,
         I read your docu. And tested the new feature.That's great.
         That is really a reasonable way to create number ranges.
         But here, what I want is to get a "numbering format" feature for my extension fields like the way I explained above.
    Regards,
    Fred.

  • Conditional formatting via calculation

    I have at the end of a row a checkbox.
    If the checkbox is checked I would like it to highlight the row.
    My thinking was along these lines:
    IF (CHECKBOX = "CHECKED", BGCOLOR = "BLUE", 0)
    (I know that this isn't correct Pages syntax, but I believe it explains what I would like it to do)
    Is this possible in Pages?
    Thanks for any input.

    I repeat, searching for conditional formatting gives the response to those who read carefully.
    +Use the Cells Inspector to format cell values. For example, you can display a currency symbol in cells containing monetary values.+
    +You can also set up conditional formatting. For example, you can make _a cell_ red when _its value_ exceeds a particular number.+
    If the feature was able to apply to a row it would state: _you can make a row_
    It's why the "Conditional" item is in Inspector > Cells, not in Inspector > Table
    I never saw a program stating "I apologize, I'm unable to do this or that".
    For those knowing the way to read Help or user manual, the basis is that when a feature is not described, we may guess that it is unavailable.
    and nowhere does it say that you can use a CHECKBOX as condition!
    A rule doesn't check the kind of object used in a cell, it checks the stored value. When we use a checkbox, the stored value is TRUE or FALSE exactly as if we typed TRUE or FALSE as a text entry.
    Same thing with popup menu (the value may be a string or a number)
    and steppers or sliders (the value is a number).
    (And YES, I did select the ENTIRE row when I created the rule)
    One more time, a rule checks the contents of _a single cell_ ! This means that if a cell match the rule it apply the format to _this cell_ , if it doesn't match the rule, it doesn't apply the format to _this cell_ . It's exactly what is written.
    I would like the ENTIRE ROW to fill with that color.
    I'm not sure that it is a sufficient reason to have it behaving this way
    _You may go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu_, describe what you wish.
    Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'09
    I assumes that you will not get satisfaction.
    When we select a range of cells with several columns, this means apply the rule to every cell one by one, not apply to the entire row the format if a given cell of this row matches the rule.
    How may it guess which cell of the row is the one to test ?
    The only solution would be to select cells in one column and have a box in the pane allowing use to choose:
    _apply the format to the cell_
    or
    _apply the format to the row_ .

  • Conditional Formatting for Charts in Drill down - Disappears

    Hi All,
    I have a "Vertical Bar Chart" that is plotted against Time on Y-axis and Unit on the X-axis; it has drill feature selected.
    The chart also has conditional format specified and the color of the Vertical bar will change on a condition. Eg: The bar will show Red color if the Average Time taken is more than 60 minutes for an Appliance Unit. All this works fine.
    Problem
    As the chart has Drill feature enabled I can drill down on the chart say from Year - > Month -> Day. The issue is the conditional formatting disappears when you drill down the chart.
    It looks strange as the main chart shows Red color for a Unit and when you drill down I don't see the conditional format applied any more.
    Did anyone had similar problem, is there any work around here.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards
    B

    Hi,
    Create a dummy column and in fx write this,
    Case when Table."Average Time" >60 then 0 else 1 end
    Add this also in th part of chart axis,
    Go to conditional formatting set the formatting on the dummy column when 0 set to Red color.
    Now you will have the conditional formatting even if you drill down.
    Thanks,
    Vino

  • Date format(for number fields)

    Hi there.
    I'm creating some sql queries wich will be executed by some users throught the Oracle client PL/SQL, and I need to format some fields in date format.
    Those fields are NUMBER(8) and they are in that format: "YYYYMMDD"
    The format I want to put that information is: "DD.MM.YYYY".
    What's the easiest way to do that?
    The version that I'm using is Oracle 9.2.0.4.0.
    Thanks by the way.

    Hi,
    Use TO_CHAR to convert the number to a string,
    use TO_DATE to convert the string to a date, then
    use TO_CHAR to format the date.
    TO_CHAR ( TO_DATE ( TO_CHAR ( numeric_column
                                , 'fm00000000'
                      , 'YYYYMMDD'
            , 'DD.MM.YYYY'
            )This shows why storing dates in some other kind of column is a bad idea.

  • How to define the format for numeric field ?

    Hello
    I have Amount field and I would to define the format to be ( XX.XXX,000 )
    How can I do this ??
    I'm new in ADF and need your help ..

    Edited by: moh3li_pal on Mar 1, 2010 8:05 AM

    i have the same problem i try with pattern "###,###.##" but the application adf is the inverse "###.###,##" , this a bug or the pattern errornious.??Hi Joaquin. This is not a bug, although this is a little difficult to explain without face-to-face communication :D The confusing thing here is the difference between the 'special pattern characters' and actual output characters (which are chosen based on your locale).
    If you check the Java DecimalFormat class (which provides the rules for formatting) you'll see the following:
    Using , in the pattern = Grouping separator
    Using . in the pattern = Decimal separator or monetary decimal separator
    According to your locale, the grouping separator is '.' and the decimal separator is ','. So the pattern you have specified does dictate that you should get the result you have found.
    You either need to change your locale settings (best option) or cheat by switching the , and . in your pattern.

  • Using conditional format for company logo

    Hi
    Before running the report, customer, will enter some data into the promt(Entity dimensions - Holding structure)
    Every company has unique logo, and depending on selection , in report should display the company's logo
    Is it possible?
    Regards
    Alexander

    One way you might be able to do this is to have each logo/graphic on a separate text row and then add conditional suppression on the rows only to show that row if it matches the required value for the entity.
    Depending on how many entities you have it could be confusing and be maintenance intensive if new entities were added.
    Hope this helps. Cheers.
