Multimedia in JSP

I have written a jsp file that checks for the username and password of a user and then logs them on to a database. When I include pictures or sound using normal html code such as <bgsound src=blahblaf> I get the following error 404, what is the cause of this error and how can I correct it. Any help will be appreciated.

A 404 error indicates that the page has not been found on the server. It is not usually a jsp or html problem. Check that you are calling on the right filename and that the file has uploaded properly.

  • Can RX9800Pro capture video?

    Hello friends,
    I recently purchased a MSI RX9800Pro Plus, and I have a question:
    Can it really capture video?
In their oficial website MSI talks about "Capture pictures and video at up to 30 frames per second."
This card uses an VIA VT1623M for VideoOut. But this chip also ALLOWS Video In.
The card includes a cable for TV-Out S&C Conector, but in the SVideo connector I can see two arrow, each one in different ways (incoming and outcoming).
What's wrong, or what I have to do?
I also would like to ask you other things:
With default cooling I was able to push te card to a maximum of 434/369, is this OK?
Also, as you know, new VGA Silencer are out, what one should I use for the card? 9800Pro model (ATI VGA Silencer 1) or 9800XT model (ATI VGA Silencer 3), I think I should use the Pro's one, but I want someone can confirm it...
Very very thanks in advance and please excuse my english.

    Tony, I disagree...
      Take a look:
      According to MSI´s site (http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=576):
"• Capture pictures and video at up to 30 frames per second."
And according to VIA´s site (http://www.viatech.com/en/multimedia/vt1623.jsp):
      "Input Format
Supports digital RGB (15/16 or 24-bit) or YCrCb (CCIR601 or CCIR656) 16 bit 4:2:2 input video data in both interlaced and non-interlaced formats".
So, I think that´s it´s only a driver´s matter. The board IS capable of capturing video...
Have you changed your mind yet???

  • Podcasts, RSS & Downloading.

    Hi all,
I was recently lucky enough to be bought a Blackberry Curve 8520. I do however have a few questions, I had an old phone which came preloaded with a piece of podcast software which allowed me to subscribe to a feed and auto download the any mp3 in a list (even queue several if needed. )and I was disappointed that as standard the BB doesn't have one loaded. I downloaded a few from the APP store and was sorely disappointed with what was on offer.
I then deceided it was probably just gonna be easier to view the rss feed and download the mp3 manually, unfortunately the BB didn't like this (I'm guessing there is a file size limit?).
So how do you guys deal with this? I really want to carry on using the BB as it does have some nice features (although, for a supposed smartphone, I don't think it is that smart, but thats another story.) Any workarounds for what I need to do?
    cheers all

  • Oracle Multimedia: PhotoAlbum Sample - PhotoAlbumDBInfo.jsp file missing...

    Hello there!
I installed the package of Examples for Oracle 11g and did everything correctly about the configuration process of the PhotoAlbum example for JSP, but when I searched for the file "PhotoAlbumDBInfo.jsp" - funnily, the main file to run the example - it strangely wasn't in the package located in <ORACLE_HOME>\ord\http\demo\jsp. Then, I'm not able to run the program without this file.
I tried to search it through the internet, but with no success.
Maybe was it corrupted during the instalation? Or there is some issue about the Oracle Examples updated?
Can someone point out how to solve this situation? If I could get this JSP file, would be great.
Thank you very much! I'm really needing this to start a customized work to my university using Oracle Multimedia.
    Greetings from Brazil!

    Yes, there is. As follows:
    About the JSP Sample Application
    ================================
The Oracle Multimedia JavaServer Pages (JSP) Photo Album sample application
shows how to use the Oracle Multimedia Servlets and JSP Java Classes library
to upload and retrieve multimedia data to and from a database. Users can
access the JSPs to view the contents of the photo album (including thumbnail
versions of each photograph), to view the full-size version of any
photograph, and upload new photographs into the album.
The Oracle Multimedia JSP Photo Album sample application contains the
    following files:
    PhotoAlbumDBInfo.jsp
A JSP that displays an HTML form that prompts users to enter the database
schema, password and the database connection string.
Users can choose one of these options for the database connection string.
Option 1. A JDBC OCI driver specifying a SQL*Net service name.
This option works on all platforms where an Oracle Database
    client is installed.
Option 2. A JDBC Thin driver specifying a host, port and Oracle
database SID. This option works on all platforms and does not
    require an Oracle Database client.
PhotoAlbumBean.java uses the input information to connect to the database,
    retrieve and upload photographs.
    PhotoAlbum.jsp
A JSP that displays the contents of the photo album using an image
    tag <IMG SRC="PhotoAlbumMediaViewer.jsp?media=thumb&...> to display
    the thumbnail images.
A friend of mine did the same installation and configuration on a Windows Ultimate (x64) and the file is also missing there. Could it be possible that the "Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Examples" do not have this file in the version that I mentioned? None has the file or it's not permitted to share this file through this forum?
    Thanks!

  • Acrobat 9 Pro converting multimedia files in PDF Portfolio

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and it says that it can convert multimedia files in a PDF portfolio
but when I try to convert wmv files in gives me a conversion error. The user's guide clearly outlines that this program can convert multimedia files - MOV, AVI and WMV files to PDF files within a PDF Portfolio. Am I missing something? Why won't this work?

You have not indicated what version of AA9 or OS you have. The current version is 9.5.5. You can do updates from the Help menu usually. If that fails, download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order.

  • InterMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs and Netscape

I am using the interMedia Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs to upload and retrieve multimedia data. I have found that it is much more performant in Internet Explorer (5.5) than in Netscape Communicator (4.7). In fact, I cannot upload images larger than 10K at all using netscape. However, the same image can be uploaded into the same application using IE. Is this a known issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
We have successfully uploaded multimedia data in the giga-byte range (Quicktime and AVI files) at the same speed with both the Netscape (4.7n) and MS IE (4.n and 5.n) browsers. One thing we have noticed is that its very important to set the manual proxy settings correctly if you have an environment with a proxy server. If you don't, then uploads can go via the proxy server and, for some reason, that seems to take considerably longer. For example, suppose you are in the www.xyzco.com domain and are connecting to a host named webserver.www.xyzco.com, then specify webserver and webserver.www.xyzco.com (to cover both cases) in the "Do not use proxy servers for..." box in the manual proxy server configuration screen. Also, if you're using a tool such as JDeveloper that uses the host IP address in the debugger environment, then you also need to add the numeric-based (nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn) IP address to this list.
    Hope this helps.
In order to better understand the variety of ways in which our customers are using interMedia, we'd be very interested in knowing a little more about your application, the interMedia functionality that you are using, and how you are developing and deploying your application. If you are able to help us, please send a short email message with some information about your application, together with any comments you may have, to the Oracle interMedia Product Manager, Joe Mauro, at [email protected] Thank you!

    Simon

  • J2EE multimedia apps

    Hi all.
Thought this forum part suits best for this :)
I have a somehow awkward assignment - write a thesis under the title "Programming multimedia applications in J2EE". The topic seems awkward at glance, but (or so I hope) all depens on attitude. I thought about focusing on some sort of media streaming technologies etc. (aka YouTube like sites' engines). However I am not 100% positive on this.
Could you please suggest what way can I look at this topic, what could I write about (mind me, I do not want to focus on presentation layer too much, though I will definitely mention JSP + some J2SE oriented APIs like JMF).
I am open to all suggestion and help. Also I need to write an example APP so could you pelase suggest something (simple-ish, don't want to spend 6 months or it - or don't have those 6 months to be honest)? :)
    Best regards,
    Adam

Can i suggest you download the latest and greatest tutorial. there isonly the bookstore directory in the new bundles so I would work through it.
make sure in the old tutorial that you ran the package-bookstore target in the bookstore directory as this creates the bookstore.jar

According to the release notes, for the JRCHelperSample to compile, you must set the target runtime for the project.
To do this, either create a project from scratch that uses the Tomcat 5.5 target runtime, or go to the properties menu and ensure that the target runtime is set to the application server you will be using.

  • .How can I add data from one list to other in Jsp Page

Hi..I have three multiple selection ListBox..I want to add the selected item from 2 list boxes to 3rd list box how can i do that..do i need to write javascript? If possible then suggest me some link where i can get help?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Chintan

    Yep, Javascript.
Unless you want to post the data to the server and then rewrite the page (ie. jsp/servlets) then you are going to need to use a client side script to modify the page.
Javascript. You need to get the onClick() event of one list box and get the item that was clicked. then you can rewrite the 3rd list box.
If possible, try doing a search on google. Or do you want someone to hold your hand.

Thanks in advance.HTTP is a request/response protocol. You can't do what you're suggesting without "pushing" what you type to all the other users. That's not the way HTTP works. Maybe an applet and servlet.

  • How to print new line in jsp page

    hi
how to print new line in jsp page
    thanks

\n - new line character is in java specific not HTML
specific.Well, if the correct line separator sequence (by far not always \n) would be used, it does add a new line to the HTML output. Too bad that you don't want to see HTML but formatted text. The BR tag is a formatting element for the displayed text, not a line break in HTML. ;)
