Multiple (independent) Image Rotation

Usually I'm good at finding information to solve problems by searching the forums. but honestly I've never seen this problem solved or ever heard any mention of it. . . . here goes.
I'm writing a space shooter that uses images as the hero and enemy ships.
My problem is this.
I've written the code and walked through it several times an what I have written correctly works incorrectly.
I wrote a loop to cycle each sprite object (each has an AffineTransform object as a variable).
Afterwards coded it to rotate each object individually based on their own AffineTrasform.
The result is a when I rotate the hero ship the other ships rotate in concert. Even more strange they rotate slightly off. meaning that they aren't completely synchronized, but they rotate in the same fashion. (The enemy ships rotate in sync with each other, slightly latent to the rotation of the hero ship)
My question is how do you rotate multiple objects indepedently?
I haven't tried creating a thread for each object because it would make the program unduly complicated and slow. Also it is unecessary when I already have a thread that cycles each object before it is rendered in the paint(Graphics g) method.
My theory is that there are static attributes in the AffineTransform Class that are creating a rollover effect to the other sprites. I haven't been able to prove this theory but If it is true hopefully Sun recognizes this problem and fixes it. . .i.e. an alternative AffineTransform class that doesn't have static variables so that I can rotate each sprite without the rollover. (Much easier than ME rewriting code LOL :P )
If necessary I'll post the code. but hopefully it isn't.
Thank you to any genius that can help!

Nevermind. . . I rewrote the code and everything works fine now. I don't know if the AffineTransform object has been updated or I just figured out a better way of using it.
Thanks anyway. I'm sure I'll be back with some other questions soon.

  • Images Rotated 90 Degrees on prints

    i am having this issue with the Apple version of Adobe Illustrator CS3. We just got a new printer (Sharp MX-3501N) and it has a Fiery 2 print server on it. When i print illustrator documents to it, the first page comes out great. Comes out landscape on 11x17 paper. But if i tell it i want any more then just one print (2 or more copies) the first page comes out fine, each additional page comes out with the image rotated 90 degrees and is printed right off the page and leaves a blank space on the bottom of the page. Adobe is updated, MacOS (10.5) is updated, i have tried printing from other programs and everything else prints fine, and i have updated the drivers.
    I am an authorized sharp service center and i talked to Sharp technician support about it and they said that because Adobe handles the print job from start to finish, there is likely a setting in illustrator that is messed up. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

    I'm not sure if I understand your problem. If it uses a proper PS RIP, the rasterized version will be stored in it and it should initiate printing multiple copies, not the computer that sends over the PS/ PDF data. Are you sure you're not missing out on some silly check mark somewhere in teh printer driver? what you describe strikes me more as an "only print first page differently/ print cover sheet" option as you would use them in an office program. Is Illustrator actually set to handle the print job (which would be kinda pointless on a hardware RIP)? If so, you should get this odd behavior with other printer drivers as well (PDF document printer etc.) and then indeed it would be the program's fault...

  • Why can't I open multiple sparse image files at the same time in FCPX?

    I work in a multiple editor enviroment, where we have hundreds of different projects.  They are all divided into sparse image files to keep them all separated.  I used to be able to mount multiple sparse image files and see them all in FCPx.  But recently, FCPx upon opening, will close out all but one sparse image.  The images are still mounted to the OSx but FCPx will not recognize them.  I can only open one sparse image at a time.  I am needing to export multiple projects at the end of the day, and can't batch export or send them all to compressor because I can open up multiple projects.

  • MULTIPLE place image import...& "save as.." multiple layers to multipage PDF

    Hello,
    just some suggestions I`d like to see to speed up my set up and output..
    i`d like to import multiple placed images into illustrator CS4. So open dialogue box place, and multiple select images for placing.
    regards output save as...
    Can we output multiple layers  into a single PDF in illustrator?  Or multiple layers into single JPEGS  from illustrator with one command instead of individually saving out  each layer... would be a huge time saver for me.I create different artworks on different layers..
    Currently  I output each completed layer individually and then right click those  outputted jpegs in their output folder and choose "combine supported  files into acrobat..." to make a single acrobat file..i`d like to do this right in the illustrator "save for PDF" dialogue box. Adding  something in the Save for PDF output dialogue box to save layers to one PDF as multiple pages would be a helpful time saver..
    I`d  also like to be able to CTRL click multiple layers and go " save as..."  only those layers get saved out...

    , bridge -FILE/PLACE into ai, goes to separate layers in AI as placed.
    in PS, bridge/tools/ps/load files into ps layers.. CS4.
    just using right click in explorer on individual PDF docs from layers saved from PS to combine to PDF. but cannot output multiple pds from layers in AI in CS4.

  • How do I show multiple rollover images on a page inserted dynamically (pulled out of a sql database

    How do I show multiple rollover images on a page inserted dynamically (pulled out of a sql database table) using Dreamweaver’s Repeat Region. Example: I have different products each one associated (through their productID) with two images (one that’s showing in the page and one for the rollover effect) that are pulled from a database using Dreamweaver’s Recordset. So I want to end up with a page containing row after row of images(one for every product).When moused over each image will reveal the second (rollover) image for the same product which in turn can be a link(the image itself ) that when clicked leads to a detailed page with more information about the product the image is associated with. To show row after row with images for the different products in the database table I am using Dreamweaver’s Insert Rollover Image command and then the  Repeat Region – I have no problem to complete the steps, to insert the image and the rollover one at once and set the paths so they are pulled dynamically depending on the productID they are associated with .I have also no problem to apply the Repeat Region so not only the first image associated with the first product in the table is shown but all of them-a routine and standard procedure when using the Repeat Region to dynamically generate and display multiple rows of data. However, when I preview the page the rollover effect is lost –the images are shown but when moused over the second  image does not  show. The problem is caused when the Repeat Region is applied-once again I am allowed to apply it but the rollover stops working, a kind of interference. ANY SOLLUTION PLEASE, ANY WORK AROUND.

    I gotta tell you, using multiple images for rollover effects is going to be a big challenge in your dynamic scenario.
    If this were my product page, I would use thumbnails with a bit of CSS opacity or filters to desaturate and make them full opacity/color on mouse over.  Nice effect with much less bandwidth. Easily done globally with CSS code.

  • Can I store multiple bootable images in the same partition?

    Can I store multiple bootable images in the same partition or do they each need their own partition? I am going to use disk utility to create a copy of my current OSX 10.5 system on a new external drive before upgrading to Snow Leopard. Then I want to create a bootable copy of Snow Leopard. Can I create one partion large enoough to hold both images or will I need to create a separate partition for each. I have done booting off of an external hard drive and it works well. I do not know how the system sees this and thus if I store both images on the same partition, will it give me both as a boot option at startup or will it see only one?

    They will need separate partitions to be bootable

  • Image rotation with fade effect

    I am new to the spry framework and have just started going
    through the examples to see if I could create an image rotator that

    In CS 4 and CS 5 you can drag and drop fro m the finder or the Bridge, and I guess any other similar type viewer, multiple number of image files to a document. You can configure the bridge in such a way as to allow you to see the Bridge and your document at the same time for this very purpose.
    If you just drag and drop the files are linked if you drag while holding the shift key then the files will be embedded.
    ID and PS CS 5 have a minibridge which works the sam way but is an actually panel and will stay in the front.
    I separate the images but they import one on top of another.

  • How to set a uniform display size of multiple intermedia image types - wher

    I have read "If you want to limit the size of the file that can be uploaded, you can do this as a post generation
    step, by adding the maxFileSize property to the <controller> element in the struts-config:
    This does not address how to limit the *** display size *** where you have multiple intermedia image types - where the original size is not uniform.
    If an image is uploaded where the true image display size is 1024 x 768 - it will display that way in the table/table-form. This will create un-even display size's where previous images sizes where different 384 x 384 and so on.
    Is there a way to encode the display size so that *** ALL *** images regardless of their true size are displayed uniformly at least on one dimension (64 x ???)? This is possible when using products such as Dreamweaver or Flash.
    BTW - JHS/***JDev*** synergy is truely magnificient!!! Way-To-Go Oracle!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!
    BG...

    Bill,
    I did some tests, and was able to reproduce it. The problem is that JHeadstart distinguishes between display types fileDownload and image, but UIX uses the same <media> tag to handle both display types. It will look at runtime whether it must render a hyperlink to download the document, or to render it right away as an image.
    To get all images the same size, you can set the display width and height, AND the display type must be set to image.
    However, to get the file name used as download link, you must set the FileName attribute AND the display type must be set to "fileDownload" ..
    So, to solve your problem, it is easiest to set the displayType to "fileDownload" and set the width and height properties post-generation in the generated UIX page.
    In the next release of Jheadstart, we will fix this, and always pick up width, height and fileName settings regardless of the display type.
    Note that you should also set the FileName property against the attribute you are using to upload the file.
    Steven Davelaar,
    JHeadstart Team.

    http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/archiv...-5767.html
    And the code for this was:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    img2 = new Image()
    seconds = "2";
    function imgOne()
    setTimeout("imgTwo()", seconds * 1000);
    function imgTwo()
    document.myimg.src = 'http://devyne.org/Images/E&B.jpg';
    setTimeout("imgThree()", seconds * 1000);
    function imgThree()
    document.myimg.src = 'http://devyne.org/family.gif';
    setTimeout("imgOne()", seconds * 1000);
    </script>
    </head>
    <body onload="imgOne();">
    <img src="http://devyne.org/Images/babyboy1.gif" name="myimg">
    </body>
    </head>
    My question is at the moment the images just snap abruptly from one to the other, how can i modify the code to make the images fade into one another?
    If anyone could possibly point me to a webpage or something that might be able to help me then i would be greatful.
    Thanks

    You will require jQuery or some otehr convoluted script (collection) for this.

  • Image rotation working in template, but nowhere else

    Hi,
    I'm relatively new to Dreamweaver.
    I have a page with some rotating images, created following a Communitymx recommendation (http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?cid=651FF).
    The website template (http://www.johnaverill.com/templates/main_template.dwt) seems to rotate images perfectly; however, image rotation on index.html and the others will not work.
    Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Paul

    osgood_
    ah, you are correct.  sorry, I didn't catch that I was i am just posting the same old apparent bad code (index.html).
    I did create index_2.html and rename it to index.html per your instructions of Mar 5 (i've actually done it twice now). Pictures not rotating with the index_2 or the new index.html either.
    Also noticed recreating the index continues to get me the extra:
    function randomImages(){
    if(counter == (imgs.length)){
    counter = 0;
    the template seems to be putting this in there new index for some reason.
    New index here:

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

  • Image Rotation Problem in LR 3.2RC

    Anyone else having an issue with image rotation in Lightroom 3.2C?
    Here's what happens:
    I import images from my card. There are a combination of images taken horizontally and vertically. The vertical images come in sideways (horizontally). This is no big deal: maybe the cameras I was using in this case (Olympus E-PL1 and Panasonic GF1) don't properly mark the orientation.
    So, in Grid view,  I select one of the improperly orientated images and click the "Rotate Photo Left" arrow in the toolbar. Here's where it gets weird. Instead of rotating the image 90-degrees counter clockwise, the thumbnail rotates about 45-degrees, so now it's crooked in Grid view. However, on my second monitor, the image now looks properly orientated.
    I've tried rotating using the menu (Photo menu / Rotate Left) and got the same result. If I repeatedly rotate, it ends up in all sorts of odd positions in grid mode.
    What's up with this? Is it just me?

    Restarted Lightroom and all looks good now. I'll be interested to see if the problem returns next time I import images.
    UPDATE: I spoke too soon. Closed LR3 and opened it again. No, the cockeyed thumbnails are not saved at their odd angles. But they still don't match the image shown on my 2nd monitor (or on my main monitor either if I go to Loupe View). The Grid view image might show the vertical image lying on its side (horizontal), even though the 2nd monitor shows it in the correct orientation.
    This happens with horizontal images too if I try to rotate them - something I tried just now but wouldn't normally need to do.
    Trying to rotate the thumbnail again results in the cockeyed thumbnail. If I then CLICK on that thumbnail, it straightens out, but never in the correct orientation. Here's a screen grab:
    Something seriously wrong here. Something that NEVER happend in Lightroom 3 until I installed version 3.2RC. So, I doubt that it's a video card problem - looks like a bug to me.

  • Image Rotation with AE SDK

    Hello all,
       I am wondering if someone could suggest a desription of image rotation using Adobe AE SDK - in a Forum entry or in some other related document. While some elements of rotation may be considered available in SDK sample projects - Shifter for all pixels, CCU for individual pixels manipulation - I will appreciate more details for variable subpixel processing and neighbouring pixel interpolation for variable row-by-row shift. It is assumed the angle of rotation is fixed during the effect, and there are no worries about the appearance of out-of-border picture elements since there is a background. Speed will not be an issue as well.
       Thank you in advance.

    well, the easiest way for rotating an image through the sdk is by using transform_word().
    it takes a matrix (or matrices for motion blur), so you can do any transform operation concievable via a matrix.
    here's a thread with some detail about this function:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1970939#1970939
    as for line by line transformations...
    there are some toos in the SDK, but they're available only for AEPGs of type "artizan" (the plug-ins that render whole comps),
    so if you're planning a layer effect, these tools are out of the question.
    you can do that calculation manually in a few ways.
    you can create a tranformation matrix and run each pixel through it, which would probably be the fastest most versitile way.
    or you can use trigonometry, which would probably be the easiest to implement but the slowest to process.
    using the sdk's subpixel sample functions would complete the tools you need, but keep in mind that this would be the slowest possible way of rotating an image.
