Multiple pdfs from canoscan lide 25

I can no longer make multiple pdf's using a canon canoscan lide 25. Is this due to a change of issue of adobe?

When I try to save a scanned page as a pdf the report 'Selected application is invalid' appears.
This change appeared at about the time of the upgrade to Reader XI.
However, if I make a scan a pdf attached to an email, it functions correctly.

  • Print multiple pdf from web site

    Hello everyone!!,
I need print multiple pdf from web site (web page) to the local printer o client printer.
I have investigated : cfexecuted, java code, javascript, but i can't do it.
The idea is don´t open printer dialog box for to print.
    Thanks.

It is NOT POSSIBLE (for security reasons) to do silent printing in this way.  (you wouldn't want to visit a web site and have your printer start spewing out page after page of profanity, would you??)
You can, however, offer the user the choice to print and then have it print.  That can easily be done by embedding JavaScript into the PDF to be printed.  If you have multiple documents, you should merge them together on the server first and then send a single document.

  • Create multiple PDFs from multiple files

    Hi everyone
I'm trying to use the "Create multiple PDFs from multiple files" function in Acrobat 9 Pro (version 9.4.6) to create about 100 PDFs from InDesign CS5 files. Theoretically this would do the trick for my purpose. BUT: When running the function, it does not use the CS5 InDesign (version 7.0.3), but tries to open the files with InDesign CS3. Of course this does not work. We, as a professional working agency, have installed CS3, CS4 and CS5. Even with making the InDesign CS3 .app invisible an pushing it into the garbage bin during the process did not work. Acrobat still wants to access InDesign CS3. It is not possible to downgrade the files to CS3 files, for there are special (i.e. interactive) functions which only work in CS5. It would be more work than creating the PDFs manually, anyways.
Does anyone have similar issues? Any ideas how to solve the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

OK, cool, I found one, which seems to work just fine.

  • Creating multiple PDFs from an xml form

    Hello--
I am a LiveCycle Designer beginner, so please bear with me.
I'm hoping to automate the creation of multiple PDFs from within a LiveCycle XML form I created.  We have a database with vendor contact information. Each vendor could have multiple records within our database (currently they range from 2-60). We currently send to a pointperson at each vendor an Excel spreadsheet that contains all the records associated with that vendor. That person then modifies, adds and deletes the records in that spreadsheet. We then input those updates into our database.
We recognize that this is an antiquated form of contact management, and want to improve. Of course, the challenge is that we do not have our own server to use, and we are not able to use any third party service that costs anything. Since we already have LiveCycle Designer, I'm hoping XML forms can make things easier for our administrators. I really hope there is a scriptable solution for this.
Here is what I've done (much of it to learn how LiveCycle Designer works).
I created an XDP with all the appropriate fields.
I also created separate XML files for each vendor.
I was able to create individual PDFs when I associate the vendor-specific XML file to the XDP using the Locate Data File field in the Defaults tab of the Form Properties.
While this works, I essentially have just done the same amount of work as our current solution. Nonetheless, since LiveCycle is scriptable, I'm hoping that I can automate a number of these tasks. Is it possible to automate from within Designer, the creation of multiple PDFs—one for each vendor—using the same XDP form?  Do I need to make the XDP form a TDS file? Is this even the right approach? Is there a way to connect to the database and filter out by vendor the information I need?
I apologize if this is all over the place. Any and all advice would be most appreciated!!!

The Split command also allows you to do this with a few more options like contol of the file naming and number of pages. Here is a quick tip on how to do this if you're interested.

  • How to transfer multiple pdfs from email to iPad ibooks

Is there any way to transfer multiple files from email or imessage to ibooks on an Ipad?
currently email opens each one then have to click on top to open in ibooks.  I have over 50 files and expect more to come.  I have tried hooking up ipad to the macbook that sent the files and put into ibooks that way, but it would require syncing all my media files.
Icloud and airdrop have failed me miserably for PDFs transfer to my ipad.

I don't know if this will help you, but for PDFs on my IPad  I use either Note Taker HD or EverNote. Both are available at App Store. However each one is a pay for app. Note Taker HD app is a one time fee. EverNote is monthly. There is also
FileApp Pro. These are the apps I use. So I have immediate access to any and all PDF's in a second or 2. Note that these are my personal preferences only. Hope this helps. Cheers.

  • Print multiple PDFs from Windows Explorer causes Acrobat Pro 9.4 crash

I sometimes need to create a batch of PDFs independently, after which it suits me to print them all as a single job. FYI I am running Acrobat Pro 9.4 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
The sequence of the problem as follows:
    - With Acrobat closed, I go to the directory containing my multiple PDF files using Windows Explorer.
    - I highlight between three and six PDF docs (each individual doc is small, one page, black and white only).
    - I use the "Print" option made available within Windows Explorer.
It's clear that the system then tries to use Acrobat to print these docs, however I consistently get the same behaviour - some print, some do not, but on every occasion I receive the error "Adobe Acrobat 9.4 has stopped working".
Any ideas? Annoying for a paid-for piece of pro software although, granted, not on a level with famine in the third world it would be nice to have all the functionalities working correctly. If it helps my machine spec is below.
    Thanks,
    Alastair
    SPEC:
    Dual Xeon workstation
24Gb RAM (of which 22GB available at time of error)
    Disk 1TB (RAID10) of which 920GB free
    Windows 9 Ultimate 64bit
    Acrobat Pro ver 9.4.1

It may partly be a 64-bit issue since AA is apparently a 32-bit application that can run in the 64-bit environment (not that familiar with 64-bit systems, so I may not be stating it correctly. However, I would start by going to the Control Panel>Programs and Features and do a repair on your Acrobat installation. That will hopefully resolve the issue.

  • Is there a plugin for producing multiple pdfs from one print action in Indesign?

    Hello,
I am wondering if there is a script or method for indesign that will allow you to write 2 or more pdfs from indesign in one action ?
In other words - is there a print or export function that will allow you to write both a high res and low res file in one command ?
Saving location isn't important, just the ability to tell indesign to write two files at once, like a pdf server server might.
With thanks in advance for any input

There is a third party plugin: MadeToPrint, from Axaio

  • Problem with quick printing multiple .pdfs from Outlook 2010

    Hi there,
I have a user who is having problems printing multiple .pdf's using the quick print function in Outlook. I have tried reader 9,10 and 11.
11 errors when printing (nothing specific in the error message) and only 1 or 2 documents are printed.
9 and 10 error and report that a file is missing. Yet again, often prints 1 or two of the files.
I have reproduced the problem on my own PC.
Is there some type of bug with Adobe Acrobat printing multiple files using the quick print function within Outlook?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Will

I am not very skilled in Adobe by any means, but I was having the same issue.  When I did the Control P to print, I went into Print Options, then into Properties.  Under Adobe PDF settings, I unchecked the box that said "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." and that worked for me.
    Hope it helps.

  • Multiple PDFs from database

I need to generate multiple unique PDFs based on a database. What I need is to generate a table of values from a database, and within that table, each cell will have an up arrow or a down arrow background depending on whether the value is positive or negative. The values are all basic percentages. I'm not sure how the data is generated or anything. Let's just assume I can receive the data in whatever form is most useful.
Is this even possible in InDesign? Or is there a better tool?

I need help on this same subject.   I am being provided with PDF's from SQL (not sure what software).  A 3000 page PDF comes out to 300mb, and if you open it and save as in Adobe Pro, it takes 10 hrs to consolidate fonts and images, but I then end up with a nice 30mb file.   Even using batch PDF conversion software, it takes 5hrs on a good dedicated machine to flatten these PDF's.  I'm guessing it has a lot to do with how they are handling font embedding and the image (form flash) on each page (same on all pages for each PDF).   What kind of programs should I be looking at to keep the PDF file sizes manageable and where I can work with the files without it taking 10 hrs to save them.   I print about 120,000 images per month..  We save the images for up to 6 months..   With 300mb files this won't work..

  • Open Multiple PDFs from within excel using VBA

    Hi,
I'm using excel 2010 and would like to open pdfs based on filenames I have listed in excel.
I attached a little of my code below which gives an idea of what I'm doing.
    First question:
Is there a way to open mutiple files so that they are in one "instance" of adobe?
The way this currently works, is it opens up a whole new window for each file which can make desktop very cluttered.
    Second question:
Our pdfs are actually in Sharepoint and so what I am first doing, is converting the URL to point to a mapped directory of the Sharepoint Site.
For this to work, the user must first map the sharepoint directory to a specific drive letter.
I'm wondering if there's a way to pass an actual URL via a shell command so I can skip the mapped drive bit?  When I try it, it doesn't open the file.
    Thanks!
    My current vba:
'sFileName = full URL of the file in sharepoint
         'Replace URL with Mapped Directory
            sFileName = Replace(sFileName, "http://aamteams.alv.autoliv.int/sites/alvgmbu/", "A:\")
         'Replace slashes in URL
            sFileName = Replace(sFileName, "/", "\")
'Test if file exists before opening so adobe doesn't hang up on opening
            If Dir(sFileName) = "" Then
                A81_Try_Opening_In_Adobe = False
                Exit Function
            End If
            l_strProg = GetDefaultProgram(sFileName)
            'Execute function to open PDF
            Shell l_strProg & " " & sFileName, vbNormalFocus

    Hi Test,
We would like to open directly in adobe for the following reasons:
    1.  The users like opening our pdfs in adobe over browsers by a large margin.
    2.  If we use a mapped drive and adobe, you can see the filenames in the start bar which is important when you have multiple files.
If you open in browser (like we do today), you only see the left side of URL
Left side of URL is always the same so it does no good to see what file your in.
    3.  We have had issues where sometimes the pdfs open "blank" until I refresh the browser.
    4.  We are also looking for a way to make a local cache of most common files for faster loads.
But maybe I will give shell execute a try if it can find a local copy first in the code.
Then open in browser as last resort.
Using either shell or shell execute, is it possible to open multiple adobe files in the same instance or will we always have to get one instance for every pdf?
    Thanks for the help!

  • Cannot scan multiple slides from Canoscan 8600F

In the past when I had a PC I was able to scan multiple color slides  (using the multiple slide adapter), but on my Mac when I installed the Canoscan driver and software, I used Image Capture to scan. Here's what the right side of Image Capture shows:
    Kind: Color
Resolution: 75 dpi (I set this low because it is just for web and computer viewing)
    Use Custom Size: Letter size
Scan to: Desktop (I have hundreds of slides so is it better to scan to a specific folder? I do not want to mix these scanned photos with my Pictures)
    Name: Scan 1,2 etc.
    Format: JPEG
    Detect Separate Images selected.
The result of the scan shows one image of the film holder and four blackened slides, with no details. No individual slides shown.
    What happened?

It's best to scan to a folder on the Desktop so you can keep them together and organized.
You must set the source as  "Color Positive Film".
Image Capture with Mt. Lion (and maybe Lion)  does not have that slide or transparency setting option.
Use the CanoScan application for slide scanning because it will automatically select each of the 4 slides on the platten and save them as individual images. The CanoSdan Toolbox will do the same.
You can get the latest scanner drivers and CanoScan software here:  Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : CanoScan 8600F for OS systems up to Mt. Lion.
I'd reinstall the drivers and the software and give it a try again both with Image Capture and with CanoScan.
NOTE:  I've gotten what looks like some roller smudges on the underside of the glass platten.  Looks like some of the smudges that I can wipe off the top side when I get them but they are underneath. I haven't noticed any problem with the scans due to them, however.  Have you gotten anything similar?

  • Multiple pdfs

How do I create multiple pdfs from multiple Word documents? I have Acrobat 6 pro and Microsoft 2003

Newer versions of Acrobat Pro have a batch processing capabilities which
allow you to do it easily, in a single process.
You should consider upgrading (although your version is too old too qualify
for an upgrade, so you'll need to buy a full license).

  • Export PDF from InDesign Book

Hi, I have a customer that has huge problems to export PDFs from InDesign Books. He has books with many documents with a total amount of 500-700 pages, when he try to export a PDF InDesign quit unexpectedly. I wrote a script for him that export the PDF from the book without the progress bar, and sometimes it solves the problem but sometimes not, and I have a "out of memory" message. He must export multiple PDF from the same book and then merge those PDF with Acrobat but he has also interactivity sometimes and it's a nightmare to merge PDFs with interactive objects and bookmarks.  Someone of you have experienced the same problem (and maybe has a solution)?  Thank you

It seems that InDesign saturate the available RAM during the operation of gathering information before start to export, if I restart InDesign each time and export a selection of documents it works. I'm exporting now two separate PDF and it seems to work, but again only if I close and restart InDesign before exporting, I'm working on an iMac with an Intel 2.93 GHz i7 and a total of 8 GB RAM.

  • Multiple PDFs for sigle incomming XML

    Hi,
We are using Adobe Central Pro Sever (along with Adobe Output Designer) to generate customized PDFs. The question is: Is it possible to generated multiple PDFs from sinlge incomming data file. Say, an incomming XML has 4 ... section, then the output from the adobe should be 4 different PDFs.
Also, what are the design issues that one should look at while developing the above solution.
    Thanks in anticipation!
    Regards,

I don't know about separate PDFs for each but you can create a PDF that contains a unique copy of form1 for each of the values of field_1. In field nominated format this would look something like:
    ^JOB xyz
    ^FORM form1.mdf
    ^FIELD field_1
    data for field 1
    ^FORM form1.mdf
    ^FIELD field_1
    another data for field 1
    ^FORM form1.mdf
    ^FIELD field_1
yet another data for field 1
If you are wanting totally separate PDFs, I think you would have to separate the data into separate DAT files. In the above, the field_1 definition within form1 would not have the "global" property set. We are currently using the above for having a single form designed that has a different graphic image placed on it and we plan on using it in the future for the same concept (single form) that would have different data values (such as recipient address) placed on it (say, main recipient and a courtesy copy to someone else). It also works for placing a watermark on one copy but not on another (by using a graphic field on the form and defining the location & name of the graphic in the DAT file).
Currently, all our jobs & forms are designed using the GLOBAL capability. We define all data values as ^GLOBAL (not ^FIELD) first and then at the end of the file we have all the ^FORM statements (like the following).
    ^job xyz
    ^global field_1
    data-for-field-1
    ^global field_2
    date-for-field-2
    ^global first_address
    recipient-mailing-address
    ^global second_address
    different-recipient-mailing-address
    ^form form1.mdf
    ^form form2.mdf
    ^form form3.mdf
This allows us to define the data just once but does require multiple MDFs with slightly different field names (mailing address) on each. As I said, in the future we want to have only a single MDF so our DAT files are going to look something like the following:
    ^job xyz
    ^global field_1
    data-for-field-1
    ^global field_2
    date-for-field-2
    ^form form1.mdf
    ^field mailing_address
    recipient-mailing-address
    ^form form2.mdf
    ^form form1.mdf
    ^field mailing_address
    different-recipient-mailing-address
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I scan multiple pages into one document using the CanoScan LiDE 200?

How do I scan multiple pages into one document using the CanoScan LiDE 200?
I can't seem to find a way to get them to scan continuously, or a way to stitch them together afterwards.

    Hi dagda24,
You can scan multiple pages into a single document with the scan to PDF option.  Use the following steps to do so:
    1.  Open MP Navigator.
    2.  Click One Clcik.
    3.  Click Save to PC.
    4.  Change the File Type from PDF to PDF (multiple pages).
    5.  Make any other changes as needed, then click scan.
