Multiple Plants in a single SC

Hello SRM Experts,
We working with an SRM 5.0 system - classic scenario. We like to create a SC with two Positions with different plants. The plants and storage locations are correct maintained for the materials in Backend System, but we got following backend error message:
Shoppingcart 0100044773 (Res. 0400005452): M7 503 no storage location for 000000000000127057 in 1500 3000 
Is it actually possible to create a SC with different plants?

Hi Gurus,
We want to restrict PO creation for multiple plants in the same company code. Based on Standard SAP settings for Purchasing organization assignment with multiple Plant and multiple Plant assignment with single company code, this is happening. Is there a way that we can restrict by doing some customization change.
Any thoughts or ideas will be highly appreciating.

Hi,
Said functionality is not available in SAP standard.
To avoid the same ,i can suggest implement release strategy for PO,and then higher authority / commercial team can check created PO,if multiple plants available in single po then they have the option of rejection for the same.
Or else check BADI-ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST,take the help from abapor and apply the restriction to select multiple plant in PO.

Hi,
I dont think its possible to create multiple plants using a single T.Code. Since creation of Plant includes the maintenance of Address details.
Hence the only option you have is upload tools/programs such as LSMW.

Single Subcon Vendor for multiple Plants - CTM

Dear friends,
We are planning some materials with Subcontracting scenario using CTM
Facing issue when same vendor is executing sub-con process of same material for multiple plants
Total demand of lower level material is flowing to a single plant instead of flowing to the corresponding multiple plants
Because of which excess planning is happening in one unit & no planning is occuring at other units which is leading to a mess
In library, it is provided to proceed with 1050 Location type but not clear on how to proceed further
Kindly guide on this

Hi,
Now Planning has to happen at dummy location of type 1050 and not at 1011 to transfer demand to correct plant.
Please check following-:
1. If you are using PPm create product in new location of type 1050.
2. Also check whether Tlane is created for components from plant to this new location.
3. Suggest to retransfer all master data including your subcontracting inforecord post creation of location of type 1050.
If you are using PDS product should get created in new location automaticaly.

Material Ledger activation (COML)- multiple plants in single company code.
In large mfg plant - process industry (proposed to dived into number of production plants), Matrial 'a' is produced in plant 'a'.Material 'a' is input to procude matl 'B' in plant 'B"..so on and so forth.
We are activating Material Ledger (COML) for actual costing purpose. Question -During multi level price determination, will the variance of lower level materials ( produced in lowerlevel /other plants in our case) be rolled up to higher level materials (in a different plant). please let me know if it really works, if yes what are the guidelines (if any) .
Please advise ASAP.

Hi Chris,
from a business point of view there is a difference that you might take into consideration: The valauation level will always be on material and plant combination. That means, the division into several virtual plants will usually lead to different actual prices for the same material in each plant. That might happen for example when you carry over stocks from last month into the current month in one plant, while the other plant has only receipts from the current month.
That might me desired, but often it is not. If the mutiple plants are in reality only one location it might be hard to explain why the prices differ between plants.

Im afraid whether you will be able to upload multiple plant and sales view together in one post. Probably check the BAPI which one of our sdn guys have suggested.
I have only used IDocs to post and through that i can say you for sure, it is only possible to upload one at a time.
And so does through your MM01 and MM02. You can attach only one plant at a time.

Querry : Restricting a single P.O. with multiple plants:
If you want to restrict a single Purchase order with multiple plants the reason may be that;
Suppose your ordering material A for which you have three vendors in you SAP. But you are requiring this material in all your plants say example three plants.
You can create Purchase order for same with vendor but due the huge requirement your vendor get overloaded.And your other capable vendors are not used at all.
You can try out with quota arrangement for all vendors with which the quantity will be allocated to all the vendors depending on the quota rating.
Also you can define lot sizing procedure for a your vendor in customizing and can avoid creating Purcahse order with multiple plants.

    Can you please suggest me how to create a Purchase Order Using BAPI_PO_Create1 for Multiple Plants Or for Multiple Line items. The Requirement is like the PO is for single material for single vendor but for mulple stores i.e plants

How to generate multiple idoc's from single appl document

All,
Iam looking for a way to generate multiple idoc's from single appl document (sales order). Based on the plant details on line items in the sales order i have to generate multiple idocs, i.e., send one idoc to each plant entered in sales order line items. any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
You can create a Z-program and call Function Module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
You can make a call to this FM to send the Idoc as many times as u have plants in your Sales Order.
You can call FM IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP to fill the IDoc structure.
Then u can keep the materials of only that plant for which u want to pass on the information.

Release strategy is not getting Trigerred for Multiple Plants in PO.

Dear gurus,
I have a Release strategy which is working Fine when I create a PO with Same Plant in line items.
But My release strategy is not getting trigerred when I have Different Plants in Line items.
I have Maintained all the Plants in the characteristic Values of Plant.
Why does the RS work for Single Plant & doesn't work for Multiple Plants in the same PO.
Is there any SAP Note applicable to this? Pl Suggest.

i got your point but i will again say the same thing that for item level field system is not able to block the po if there are multiple line item in RS and that too with different values against same char as system picks only 1 value and it sends that value in RS to cross check wheteher this po needs to be blocked or not .
now in your case system is getting multiple values against 1 field that is plant so now system is not able to send 1 in backend and hence it sends blank value in back end so system dosent blocks the po
even if you use material group or any other item level field system is going to behave that way only that is it will not be blocking the po

Setting up MRP in multiple plant scenario

Hi,
We are planning to implement MRP in our system. I understand that MRP is normally carried out at a plant level. However, since we have multiple plants (from which we ship our products), we want to be able to run MRP across multiple plants. To elaborate, we want to have one forecast figure for all the plants (basically forecast at material level, NOT by plant), consider inventory across all the plants, and then based on that, we want to be able to generate PRs/POs. It would be ok to create POs with one default plant and if needed, change later the receving plant on the POs manually based on the inventory situation in each plant. Of course, we need to tie in the demand situation (customer orders) in each plant in the MRP process.
Is there a way to do this using standard SAP or with some amount of customization?
Any insight/ideas would be greatly appreciated and help us move in the right direction.

Total Planning
Use
Total planning covers the planning of all the materials that are relevant for requirements planning and includes the BOM explosion for materials with a bill of material.
You can use total planning for a single plant or you can use the scope of planning to control whether the total planning run is executed on a multi-plant level
for several plants
for one MRP area
for several MRP areas
for a combination of plants and MRP areas.
Prerequisites
Only for multi-plant planning with scope of planning:
You have grouped together the plants or alternatively the MRP areas, which are to be planned together, in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Define scope of planning for total planning.
In Customizing for MRP, you have made the necessary settings for Parallel processing in the IMG activity Define parallel processing in MRP.
Features
Defining the Scope of Planning
You can define different scope of planning groups in Customizing.
You specify the sequence of the individual MRP units (plants or MRP areas) for each scope of planning by entering a counter. This counter defines the sequence in which the MRP units are to be planned.
You can enter as many plants as you like in the scope of planning.
If you have activated material requirements planning with MRP areas, the entry of a plant thus includes all the MRP areas of this plant. During the planning run, the MRP areas of a plant are always planned in the following sequence: plant MRP area, storage location MRP area, subcontractor MRP area.
You can, however, also enter one or several MRP areas in the scope of planning and thus restrict the total planning run to these MRP areas.

Multiple Plants for Material and customer

I have downloaded the Plants from the R/3 to CRM using DNL_PLANT object. The BP with Role 'PLANT' are created.
we have multiples plants for the same material,
I have downloaded the material master data, but in COMMPR01, the field DELIVERING LOC. is empty. Is that correct? How the system works with multiples plants.

Hi Lidisaid,
Ideally, the field Delivery location must get populated. Just ensure that the followig settings have been maintained.
1. Adapter Object MATERIAL
Tcode: R3AC1
Choose the tab Tables/Structures Within Object
Add tables MARC and MARC_KEY
Please also check that MARC_KEY that the field Inactive is not flagged for this entry.(This is needed to download the PLANT information as interlinkages to CRM Online in the table COMM_IL_PRDLOC.)
The plant information is seen in the Sales & Distribution tab of the product master by double clicking on the Distribution Chain.
2. Add Relationship type PRDLOCS- LOCATION OF PRODUCTS
Tcode: COMM_HIERARCHY
Check if the corresponding Material Categories for which the PLANT information is to be downloaded has the interlinkage type LOCATION OF PRODUCTS maintained in the RELSHIP types for the products categories that are to be downloaded to CRM from R/3.
Note:
If no relationship types are assigned to the product category, the PLANT information will be downloaded to the interlinkage table COMM_IL_PRDLOC. But even if a single RELSHIP entry is maintained then additionally the RELSHIP type LOCATION OF PRODUCTS also have to be maintained. E.g. MAT_FERT

Multiple plants with same excise registration

I have 8 different manufacturing facilities/locations inside the same campus. Due to business requirement I have to make each of these manufacturing locations as plants. But, this campus/location is given only one Excise Registration by Govt. This company is maintaining only single set of excise books like RG23 registers, etc not as per each manufacturing locations.
*_My question is:*_
1.Can I assign multiple plants to the same Excise Registration in
SPROLogistics u2013 GeneralTax on Goods MovementsIndiaBasic SettingsMaintain Plant Settings
Will there be any issue?
2. Do I have to make multiple excise group or single excise group for plants?

If your Plants / Depos are Excisable then you have to create Separate Excise Group & Series Group.It will help you to see Excise Registers as per the Plant's different Excise Group.
