Multiple records inForm-16 3rd page.

Dear Experts,
There are multiple records are populating on 3rd page of Form-16. Can anyone suggest me how to resolve this issue. our Support patch level is 39.

This 1301243 has 3 periquisites. Pre-requisite3: Note 1260793 - Form 24Q: BAdI to filter tax deduction records to be reported. It's showing can not be imported.
Is there any other solution?

  • Data Merge: Cannot get multiple records per page

    I am working with a client who is trying to do a directory in Indesign. There are about 1,800 people with information like address, title, employer, phone, etc. This info is on an Excel spread sheet. I made a text, tab delimited and a CSV file from the spreadsheet. I set up a two column text box on each page and want these entries to fill the columns. I am only able to get one person's information per page. Multiple records per page yields no different result. I also had the multiple records option grayed out on a couple tries. I have tried this many times, even tried setting up a simple spread sheet with 9 items. No luck. HELP! I'm brand new to this feature.

    the data merge function in indesign doesn't make "next record" merges  like word does, but instead merges to fields within fixed text boxes, so  one frame = one data merge result. when doing mailing labels in word,  there is a field called "next record" which then calls in the next piece  of information.
    the "next record" field is a vital field which indesign doesn't have and  i'd like… but that doesn't answer your question. i can see four ways  of doing what you want to do:
    1) do a mail merge in word and use the "catalog" feature and do the  merge in word. format the word file appropriately using stylesheets, and  once the merge is made, save the file and close it. THEN, place the  file in indesign and then change the imported stylesheets into something  which resembles more like what you want.
    2) use indesign's data merge but make sure that multiple record  layout is selected in the first dialog box when creating merged  document; and that when previewing the records, the records appear to be  in one column (even though they are still in separate text frames).  merge the document, and in the new document, select all the text frames  in the page and then run the MergeTextframes_ID.jsx script which can be  found at http://ajarproductions.com/blo…..-indesign/ .this  will have to be done page by page and then rethreaded each page, but  it's a workaround
    3) if the data in the datamerge is a csv, convert the csv to xml. if  the csv is small (less than 100K) there is a converter online where the  contents of the csv is copied into the converter. it is at http://www.creativyst.com/Prod/15/ . The next step is complicated and needs some knowledge of XML. my  advice is to get hold of a book called "Designer's Guide to Adobe   InDesign and XML" by James Maivald, and specifically read chapter seven  and base your merge on this.
    4) visit the third party providers link within the indesign page of the adobe site and have a look at products marketed there... i think teacup software and cacidi software sell products which do more advanced merges within indesign. they're not free though but are designed to handle big catalogues.

  • Data Merge: Multiple records in a Multiple Page Document

    I looked in the InDesign help and under Limitations for merging multiple records it reads:
    You cannot merge multiple records if the data fields appear on a document page in a document with multiple pages, or if data fields appear on multiple master pages.
    I'm using InDesign CS 5.5. I produce a 4-page newsletter printed on both sides as a booklet, folded and stapled and each folded page size is 8.5 x 11 (a four page booklet on 11×17 paper) I want to print our 250-name mailing list on the outer cover but have discovered that it only prints the whole thing then staples it or I need to manually print each issue per name.
    Is there a way around this? If we have to use a third party software, would you let me know what to look for? Any suggestions are appreciated.

    How many names are you trying to put on each newsletter? I suspect only one, and that you've misiniterpreted the Help file. That warning applies to putting multiple records from the data file on the SAME page, like a sheet of labels.
    Just so you know, using Data Merge to do a mailing where you are addressing multiple copies of a static document is potentially VERY inefficent. Data Merge needs to make a page for every page that will be printed, so if you have a 4-page newsletter with 1,000 subscribers you will wind up with a 4,000 page document just to get the name and address on one page, and your printer will be re-processing all those duplicate pages for each newsletter. If you have a commercial grade copier/printer there may be a variable data printing module availble for it that will merge your list at print time so you need only send a 4-page file and print 1000 copies (or you can send the job out to a printer who can handle this kind of work), or if you want to print in-house anddon't have VDP capabilities, I recommend doing two files.
    The first file should be the side of the sheet that doesn't change. Print that first as a single page doing x plus a few extra copies (in case of jams in the printer when doing the second half) where x is the number of newsletters you need.  The second file is the other side of the sheet with the addresses, which you do as the Data Merge, and will end up as x pages. After printing the first side, flip the stack and reload so you are printing on the blank side, then send the merge document, asking for one copy.

  • Merging multiple records onto one page

    I have two questions for successfully setting up a mail merge:
    1.  I have a .csv file that contains multiple records.  All but one column contains one line of text.  I have one column in the record that contains several paragraphs of text.
    Problem:  The merge sees the paragraph returns (or line breaks) as an indicator to go to the next record.  What's the work-around for this?
    2.  I need the records to flow one after another.
    Problem:  It's merging one record per page.
    Background that may help (maybe merge is not the feature I should be using):
    I'm designing a newspaper that contains about 150 book reviews.  The reviews stem from a database that I'm exporting as a csv.  Rather than converting/formatting the reviews from the database by hand (like I have been doing), I thought InDesign must have some automated way of handling this.

    Can anyone help?

    First the easy part. To get multiple records per page, create only one placeholder in the upper left position. ID duplicates EVERYTHING on the page as many times as it can using your spacing selections. If you have one element at the top of the page and another at the bottom, for example, ID will not be able to put additional records on that page because there is no space.
    Text frames should be no larger than necessary to hold the data. They won't grow or shrink to fit during the merge, so you'll have gaps if the length of the text varies from record to record.
    Now, for how to fix the line-break problem. In the data file substitute a character, or group of characters you won't be using anywhre else for each return. After the merge use Find/Change to replace the substituted cahracters with real breaks.

  • Data Merge Multiple Records Per Page Greyed Out

    I am using InDesign cs5.5. I am attempting to create a catalog with the data merge option. I am attempting to do a data merge from the Master Page.
    As you can see in the image, I have inserted my fields from the data source file. All images, original file, and data source file are in the same folder. I am inserting this info on the left sheet of the master file. When I select "Create Merged Document" the "select multiple records per page" is greyed out, however, there is plenty of room on the page for the 8 records I want it to show. See image below.
    After watching tutorials, reading, etc. I made sure that my document does not have facing pages. I deleted my "page 2" to avoid that conflict. I made sure that the placeholder "allows overwrite from the master". I also deleted my "cache"/settings" by doing "ctrl, alt, shift" when reopening the program. I read that it may be because the files need to be on the right hand sheet of the master, however, when I move my info to the right sheet, I get the following message.
    I have watched the tutorial videos, read the entire help section regarding data merge, and have correctly created my data source file. I've tried everything I've seen on the forums, apart from uninstalling and reinstalling. Please tell me that someone can help me figure this out as soon as possible. I'm in crunch time!

    Thanks Peter. That helped me un-grey the multiple records. I was able to complete a data merge, however, this is what happens.
    As you can see in this image, I have the margins setup the way I prefer, and the data merge previews correctly.
    Once I click to merge, this is the new document I get - it's only putting one record per page (even though the multiple records per page is selected), and it inserts this layout, not onto actual pages in indesign. It looks reall odd.

    Any suggestions on fixing this?
    Also, my InDesign freezes up when I try and do a merge of my entire sheet (182 items). The images above are when I tested doing just records 1-32.

  • Update multiple records on one page

    I have a page that displays records based on a varible that
    is selected on
    the previous page.
    So on this page i have displaying 3 columns
    Store # Allowance Total
    They have asked now instead of clicking on each indivual
    record to mark it
    as completed, they would like to just place a check next to
    each one and let
    it update those records for that store....
    Ex.
    Store 20 has a total of 7 records and has an allowance of
    $6000.00 then
    they would place 1 check mark next to that store and hit
    submit and it would
    update all 7 records with a status of completed.
    I have read thru some not all but some of the example links i
    found for
    updating multiple records. But they seem more complex than
    what im trying to
    do. Since this page is populated dynamically how can i code
    it so it
    understands when there is new stores listed and records.
    Is there any links or tutorial that anyone would recommend
    that will explain
    the process for creating this functionality?

  • Update multiple records on one page php/mysql

    Hi folks,
    I am trying to adapt a page to offer the option to update multiple records on one page.
    The intention is to edit FAQ categories which are contained in a table with just two fields - the category and an id.
    The page lists each categories in a form with a submit button which is then repeated for each record in the recordset.
    Unfortunately my plan didn't work and only the first record updates as intended.
    Can anyone suggest how I can make it work?

    What does debugging tell you? What's the value of each of the variables? Did you try using regular echo statements to monitor what's going on? That's what I always do whenever I am stuck in my PHP coding.

  • Data Merge, multiple records, one text box, one page

    I need to my data to merge in one text box on multiple lines.
    Example:
    My TXT file:
    Name
    Mary
    Bob
    Paul
    I want my InDesign file to look like this: (one text box, one page)
    Mary
    Bob
    Paul
    I don't want multiple pages or multiple text boxes. I hope this makes sense.

    Sorry, that's not how it works in Data Merge.
    Your list will require multiple records per page, or a restucturing of the data (a better choice, in this case) so you have Name1, Name2, Name3 or something similar.
    Have you considered just placing the text file?
    How many records are you really using?

  • CS5 - Data Merge - Create Merged Document - Multiple Record - Ignore title/other objects on page?

    When I create a merged document with multiple records, the items usually come out right, but the problem is the the title or header of the page is usually also replicated into every line.
    Is there anyway to seperate certain objects/images/text/etc so that when I create the merged document (multiple records), it would not duplicate those items?

    Ok, I've searched the forum for this question. There are still similar answers, but my issue is unique.
    I am trying to make an invoice that shows how many services they bought, how much those services cost and how much they owe.
    I exported a CSV file of 1,500 customers from a separate program.
    The issue is that the .CSV file sorts each service on a different row.
    E.G.
              A                   B                    C               D          E          F
    1   Service 1     John Smith     12345 street     city     state     $100.00
    2   Service 2     John Smith     12345 street     city     state     $25.00
    3   Service 3     John Smith     12345 street     city     state     $50.00
    4   Service 4     John Smith     12345 street     city     state     $75.00

    As Peter S. notes, your database program needs to output the data differently. It's possible that InDesign's Data Merge isn't the best approach for the best control over the final form of this material.
    For example, you may find that you need a total of all invoices for that customer at that address in that time period, so you'd have to reprogram the database output for that result. Perhaps you'd need more detail about the individual items and sub-items on each invoice, so again, reprogram. And, you may find that you want more control over the typographic appearance of the information on the page. Back to the drawing board again!
    Exporting from the database to InDesign Tagged Text is an alternate approach that may be useful, and exporting to XML is another. James Maivald's book on XML for InDesign Users has good examples. I'm not aware of any specific material on tagged text, but InDesign's Help should have some information that could get you started. Google searches for InDesign XML database output, and InDesign tagged text database output, are two useful search phrases.

    The problem I have is I am using a somewhat normalized

    table called prodmat and pull the id of the record I just added to

    I have worked with the action.cfm page to no avail what so
    ever so I won't even post it. Now the prodmat table is the table
    where I need to get the prodid (Autonumber column) for the record
    that was just inserted so I can insert that number into the catfit
    table under the prodid column (number column). So this what I
    hoping to get in the end.
    When someone submits this form it will add the data to the
    prodmat table and grab the prodid generated from the new record.
    Then instert a new record for each of the catid select boxes into
    the catfit table. so something like this.
    If they select all three categories upon the submit it would
    add to the catfit table for each record:
    molid = 1
    catid = 2
    prodid = 16 (for instance this would be the newest record
    added to the prodmat table)
    molid = 1
    catid = 6
    prodid = 16
    molid = 1
    catid = 8
    prodid = 16

    No. Don't do that. It would produce the same results you were
    getting before ie. the values for all three records would be the
    same.
    Number the CDI fields just like you're doing with form.catID.
    So each set of values is grouped by number
    form.catId1, form.CDI1
    form.catId2, form.CDI2

    Then extract the values inside your loop and use them in your
    UPDATE

    Though you may not actually need an UPDATE here. Another
    option might be to do a DELETE of all existing records for a
    product, followed by an INSERT.

  • Single Form Erroneously Creating Multiple Records

    I've created a form that uses several pages, with different fields of the form on each page. The pages branch from one to the next depending on the choices made by the user, mostly using a regular select list or a radiogroup with submit. The problem I'm having is that some fields are being populated in one record on one page, and then the information entered by the user on the next page, for another column, creates a new record, so that every time a user would be finished making a complete entry into the form, multiple records have been created, with null fields in each from where those fields were populated, but in a different record. How can I make sure that only one record is created by the user each time they use this form?

    Basically the way the page is designed is that there are only three main pages the user will see. 1) The login page then 2) The main menu page, and then 3) The page where they input the information that should populate the remainder of the fields in that record in the table.
    The login page simply allows the user to access the menu page, and submits no data. The main menu page consists of 5 fields. Three of them are text fields, the fourth is a date field with a date picker. The fifth field is a radiogroup with submit that has 5 options which branch to 5 respective pages. Upon selecting an option from the radiogroup, these fields submit their data to the table and redirect the user to whichever page was designated by their choice.
    This brings up the third page. Most of these other 5 pages consist simply of 4 fields; two required select lists, one required textarea field, and one nonrequired textarea field. Anyway, the problem occurs because instead of populating the remaining fields in the same record, each page with information to submit creates a new record.
    I realize that the preceding may not be any additional relevant info., but I thought that if anything, there may be a better way to do that anyway. I thought that maybe editing the "Process" in the Page Definition could be where I need to change something, but I'm not sure how.
    Right now my "Process Point" is set as "On Submit - After Computations and Validations," and my "Run Process" is set as the default "Once Per Page Visit." These settings are the same on every page on which I have fields that submit data; however, one difference I noticed is in the process editing interface for the initial menu page, the "Name" says "Insert row into USER_INPUT (table name) with a "Type" of "PL/SQL Anonymous Block", whereas all the other pages processes are named "Process row of USER_INPUT" with a type of "Automatic Row Processing (DML)." Am I even close to where I need to be looking to find the solution to this problem? Sorry for the novel I just wrote, but if there's any additional info. I can provide, just let me know.

  • 10.5.0.142 Multiple items information issue

    Hi guys,
    I'm using iTunes v10.5.0.142 now. I've just recognized the latest iTunes is a bit buggy as I can't edit multiple songs' informations, such as Part of compilation, Gapless playback, etc. I mean the checkboxes on the Options sheet are there and active but the dropdown menus are inactive regardless of whether I click the checkboxes or not (see attachement, sorry for localized version of iTunes). I can edit these informations for each songs separately but it's very annoying and it takes forever (just imported about 1000 tracks from my audio CDs to iTunes). Can somebody help me how to activate those inactive dropdowns or solve this issue any other way?

  • Multiple Records Data Merge issue

    Hi all, could really use some help here, I've been trying to solve this for hours now:
    Made 3 different designs for labels that I'm printing based off of Avery label templates for InDesign. When I go ahead to do my data merge on any of them, I select "Multiple Records" under Records per Document Page, but the preview and the actual creation just spit out a single unique label onto each new page. For example, I'm using 2x4" labels on 2 of these, so it should print 10 per page, but instead of putting 10 unique labels on a page, it puts each new label on a new page. Therefore, instead of 100 pages for the 1,000 labels I'm printing, I end up with 1,000 pages.
    I know to double check the size constraints on the text box and make sure it fits when duplicated, and to my understanding, that is looking like it's fine. I'm also fairly certain that the CSV files I'm using are in the right format, too. I'm pretty stuck at this point as to what I need to do to fix this problem, any guidance would be awesome. Below are screenshots of what I'm looking at, please let me know if there's anything else I can provide that would help diagnose the problem.

    I thinnk the easiest way to deal with this would be to make sure all the template information from Avery is on the master page. Leave it active while you do the layout in the upper left position ON THE DOCUMENT PAGE, then assign the None master to leave nothing showing but your placholders and added art.
    Reassign the template master after the merge.
