Multiple reports in same sheet used as input form

Hi,
I am using the Excel EPM Add-In and I would like to use different reports in the same sheet, going with the same connection to the same Planning Book and Data View in APO DP. I would like to use them all as an input form (I already checked 'Use as Input Form in the sheet options). When I try to upload adapted data from the first report, this works well, but when I try this from the second report, I get the error 'There is no data to save'.
Can anyone help me on this issue?

Hello Hassan,
I'm not sure if I completely understand your question, but I suppose you always have to do the following steps:
- Log on to the system (your usual SAP user and pw)
- Create a report:
- Choose the characteristics you want to see and always take the Key Figures (Row Axis) and Time (Column Axis) into the report (in the example, I only took the Product characteristic)
- Click on the dimensions you have chosen and select what you want to see in your report (I often take 'All members')
- Press 'OK', normally you should now see the data you chose.

Hyperion Smart Cut Session Issue streaming multiple reports at a time using

This is a lengthly post with details, Please review with Patience:
We are trying to integrate Workspace based web Analysis reports within our intranet portal, thru portlets (made from individual workspace smartcut link), so that users can customize their page as needed, Once they login thru intranet, Cookie is set and passed to succeeding smart cut links via secured http headers. This part is fine, but mainly running into issue with streaming several multiple web-analysis reports at a time,+ we are using Iframe to display and stream multiple individual reports on to one page, but unfortunately all Iframes are sharing one session rather than creating individual session, mostly because of limitation of current web analysis system architecture and IE browser behavior with sessions .
Which Hyperion reporting tool does allow to stream multiple reports at a time? ideally we want to create Iframe of each workspace report so that users can customize and pick portlets as needed. To stream multiple reports at a time.
Problem Description: Hypeiron Web Analsysis, Smart cut reports incorrectly rendering images and intermixing dash boards on POV changes upon multiple reports being diplayed at one time thru Iframe's, issue seem to mostly relate to Hyperion using single session rather to multiple session when displaying several web reports at a time.
Steps Needed To Reproduce:
User logs into workspace.
user click on expolore and able to view the report without any issues.
When right on any of the report and select properties.
Select the SmartCut url and paste it in the Internet explorer.
The webanalysis report opens without any issues.
Similarly user copies the smartcut url for a different report and paste the link on a different tab or new window of same browser.
The report on the first tab gets over written of the report of the second tab of the browser.
The issue happens when two different reports and opened on a browser with multiple tabs. The reports get over written.
Oracle development answer:
In the described scenario opening new browser window does not spawn a separate independent browser session. A new browser window is supplied with URL pointing to the same domain, so all browser cookies including the "ORA_WA_SID" (WA session cookie) are shared between the windows. But multiple application instances cannot run in the same browser session simultaneously because of session sharing. This is not actually a defect, but rather a limitation of current system architecture and browser behavior. And there is no way to fix it programmatically on the product side.

Your current arrangement puts most of the session handling and persistence on the client. This forces you to accept whatever the client decides to persist and propogate between browser elements (in this case iframes).
My approach would be to:
Consider coding your portlets to manage the sessions. Manage using a somewhat stateless strategy so that each request to the server requires a login and connect, retrieve, and disconnect. Each Iframe should access a different portlet url (or provide a different query) based on its content.
This way, in theory, you can invalidate the sessions and related cookies and update the various report elements independently.
Is smartview out of the question here?

Multiple queries on same sheet

Hi Gurus
We have requirements to insert queries on the same sheet of the workbook, as the queries are related to one another and the users would prefer to see them in the same sheet.
In 3.5, we used to get a popup when the query is run about the overwrite, add rows option. In 2004s, we dont get that option. So the query just overwrites the other queries. Yes, for structure based queries, we can position the queries in such a way that the overwrite doesnt happen. But for queries which expand/contract depending on the data/drill down, this is an issue.
Why has SAP taken out the popup option? And is there a workaround for this?
We can insert the queries in seprate sheets, but thats not the option that we are looking for, for now !

In NW04s Now there is no Pop up for over writing the Query or addin rows
Only option is You can give the range for the Query. If it is over writing to the Another query once you Drill Down, Go to Grid Properties and adjust the Range for the Query. This is the Work Around for that.
For the same we have raised the message .. in futher revisions you can expect the Pop up

Excel 2010 multiple Sorting in same sheet issue

Dear all,
In the same sheet, the data is split into different groups by inserting rows.
In Excel 2003:
We select the rows of the group and choose sorting columns, for example, column "M" & column "J".
Then, we select another group by rows, the sorting option is kept.
In Excel 2010:
We select the rows of the group and choose sorting columns, for example, column "M" & column "J".
Then, we select another group by rows, the sorting option is empty!
Further testing on different groups sorting, we found that Excel 2010 only keep the sorting options of the group which is doing the last sorting setting.
Is there any method to set the Excecl 2010 to work similar to excel 2003 on the Sorting option keeping?

From your
description, I tested in my environment by using Excel 2010 with the following steps:
Create a data source and add two groups by rows (Named Group A and Group B)
Select Group A to add sort condition for the column "A" & column "B"
Select Group B to add the sort condition for the column "A" & column "B"
When I select Group A again, the sorting option was empty. Then, I
formatted the Group A and Group B as table and repeat the above steps, sorting option was kept.
Thus, I suppose that we sort with the group similar table in Excel 2003, the sort condition was not be inherited among the different group. There are some changes between Excel 2003 and Excel 2010.
I think
formatted the Group as a table is a workaround.
I'll submit it to Office Dev team and we have definitely heard your frustration, we're thinking about ways to make this scenario work better for our customers. Unfortunately, I can't make promises or give specific details on our future
plans.

Use data input form in workflow

I need to input some fixed asset information from FI-AA master data in a data input form and route through a workflow process before finally update the asset master data. Does anyone does something similar before? Is it technically possible? Is there any guide available here.

Generate Multiple copies of same Invoice using XML Publisher

Hello All
I have a requirement wherein the existing XML report Output should print the same Invoice twice one orginal and one a Customer Copy.
i.e say Earlier the Invoice was INVOICE-ABC Customer and ran into 3 pages with Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, Page 3 of 3.
Then now the requirement is to print same once more with a new Heading Invoice Copy- ABC Customer Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3 Page 3 of 3.
Has any one of you faced a similar requirment.
Suggestions/Inputs would help a lot.

fnd_request.submit_requestso if you want to use one template and changing Heading for 'COPY' then you can add parameter for invoice concurrent for identify type (copy or not)
so in parameter not 'COPY' then Heading is 'INVOICE-ABC Customer' else 'Invoice Copy- ABC Customer'
if you can't change template then copy and change Heading and in main run two concurrents

JDev 11g: Multiple Instances of Same Application Using Same AppModule !?

Hi Everyone,
I'm having difficulties with multiple instances of taskflows and their application modules.
I have a main application which has two separate instances of a taskflow (another application with it's own appmodule). I would like for the two separate instances to use separate instances of their application module but that is not happening.
How can I set this up ? I would like instance 1 to have it's own application module and instance 2 to have it's own as well.
Any thoughts ?

Seems like I have found the solution.
In the taskflow there is a property named data-control-scope and I set it to isolated instead of the default (shared) and this seemed to do the trick.
I can now have two instances of the same taskflow running with different ApplicationModules

WIll multiple instances on same server use same SA by default?

I have a SQL server on which I've created a second instance using Windows authentication. I never created an SA account or password during installation of the new second instance.
In Security > Logins, I see SA. Is this the same account as the one in the other instance. I don't know the other instance's password, so if I change it in the new instance will it be changed in the previously existing instance as well?

Hi,
SA account will be created as a part of the SQL install and we don't get to specify a passowrd while installation when windows authentication is chosen. This is the reason why the SA is disabled if you check in the mgmt studio after SQL installation. Try
logging in using the admin account that you have provided for the SQL server instance during the Sql install, This will allow you to enable the SA account and you can change the password.
This won't let you to login using SA acount unless you have changed you authenticaion mode to MIXED @ Security tab on Server properties. Restart of the instance is required to bring this change into effect. Now you can login using SQL authentication
specifying the SA account and password.
No SA accounts on different instances of SQL server are same. They are unique per instance and changing the password on one SA account for an instance doesn't have any affect on the others.

How do I get multiple reports in one window (using windows app)?

Our users want to be able to launch a "package" of reports. Meaning, that you can select more than one report to print/preview at once (using .Net 2.0 WinForms). We are having a tough time getting more than one report to display in one window (or at least, with simple navigation).
Any suggestions?

Best way to print an image multiple times on same sheet and not lose quality when doing so

I have the full subscription to Adobe Creative Suite, but am unfamiliar with almost all of the programs. I have used Photoshop a bit, but not too much.
I have this project I do several times a year, and am sure there is a better way to do it.
I am sent a colourful excel spreadsheet - a schedule. I print a bunch of copies full size, then need to print 8 copies on a single 8.5x11 piece of paper.
I've tried several methods - but want to know what the best way to retain the best quality would be.
The best I've done (and I'm not totally happy with) is to copy the image into Photoshop, save as a PDF, create 7 more copies then merge as a single PDF and print.
I do find that the quality does suffer a bit.
Can anyone suggest a better way?

With all the apps at your disposal, that is a long way around. Granted it is hard to not loose quality/data when scaling. But it makes sense to create the document to your liking, then create a new document that is 8.5" x 11" and place the original into it. Then using guides or alignment tools, duplicate that image.
This allows you to have full control over the location of each image, and extra data needed like captions, names, etc. and how that data is formated.
Luckily you have multiple programs that can accomplish this. Some are easier than others, some are more robust than others, etc. In the end it is what you are familar with and how much time you can spend on learning while getting the job done.
Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign are all your go to programs from creating anything for print and they can be used for other media as well. But that is their strong suite, print.
All three apps have their own dedicated forum on this site, so go ahead and mark them as your favorites as your questions for each need to be in their respective place.

Multiple Accounts in 7.0 using Dynamic User Forms and Account Types

Guys/Gals,
We are attempting to implement the new way of handling multiple account types in IDM 7.0 and so far are coming up unsuccessful. We have managed to customize the Dynamic Resource Forms to create standard default AD accounts, however when we attempt to create different account types of AD(i.e type ADMIN account, or TEST account) we have a no go. We've made identity rules for the types of accounts we have, and the form displays the attributes, however when we go to save, the it attemts to update the default account, and not make the new account type. Has anyone implemented these new features? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Were you ever able to implement this? I was told this was the way to handle multiple accounts for a user on a resource, but so far it's not making much sense to me, nor does it seem feasible. I was wondering if you had any success with it.

Report does not recognize formatting on inputable member in EPM Formatting-Sheet

Dear Gurus,
When using an EPM Formating Sheet in the EPM-AddIn for Excel the formatting for "Inputable Members" is not applied to the Report. The formatting for Local Members, Blank Members, Hierarchies etc. is recognized however. I applied the formatting sheet to the report and enabled the "use as input schedule" checkbox in the sheet options. The checkbox for Member/Property Formatting and "inputable Member default Format" is enabled as well.
The EPM-AddIn documentation does not state any specifics when using the "inputable Member" formatting.
I know that i could simply copy the formatting sheet and use "base level Formatting" but i would like to create a single formatting sheet for reports and input schedules in our company as a template.
We use SAP BPC 10.0 and EPM Add-In SP19 (Build 8909) on .Net Framework 3.5
Do you have any suggestions how to fix this issue?

HI Eric,
The EPM-AddIn documentation does not state any specifics when using the "inputable Member" formatting.
It is used normally when you want specific formatting for your base level member. In BPC you can input date (Save) data only on the base level member not on parent level members data get aggregates on the parent level member. So "inputable Member" formatting will apply only on the base level members.
The formatting for Local Members, Blank Members, Hierarchies etc. is recognized however.
If you are using hierarchies level formatting and inputable Member there are might chances of conflicting formatting,
Better to use either of them and also check check which formatting you are using Row or Column.

Is it possible to use both inputs of my AudioBox at the same time?

I was having issues last night, and I wanted to poll the community before I declared my device deffective.
I have an AudioBox- USB and managed to hook it up to GB. I tried both guitar and a microphone in Input 1 and they both worked. I decided to try to have them both hooked up at the same time using both inputs, but I could not get GB to recognize anything from input 2.
As a trouble shooting measure, I disconnected everything from input 1 and tried using input 2 on its own: still nothing.
Questions:
- Is there something I need to do in GB for it to recognize audio for input 2?
- Maybe GB cannot do this, and I need to use Logic/Mainstage (have not tried this yet)
- If GB can do this (and should have done so automagically), is my device possibly deffective?

How to restrict login for multiple users having same Role

Our Web Application is deployed on Tomcat 5.5
The requirement is ?
There are roles in application like "operator", "admin"?
There are multiple users created for each of the above role.
When one user of "operator" role is logged in, then
It should not allow to login for another user of "operator" role.
Also, if user did not log out & application gets close, then
It should not allow to login for another user of "operator" role.
Also, it should not allow to login for multiple requests of same user
(using another browser instance...)
Is it possible using session object?
But, using session object, it will create separate objects for different users,
So here I will not be able to restrict session object creation rolewise.
Also, how to retrieve these multiple session objects created for different users on server?

To tell you the truth, this is a stupid requirement. It must be an extremely fragile application.
In any case, you will have to write your stuff for that. Probably a filter that on login, logout, and session expiration checks, makes, or removes entries in a DB (using a synchronized resource to prevent race conditions) or possibly even simply in an application context object.
