Multiple screen video rendering

I am building an application that intends to reproduce multiple videos in a multiple screen environment (one video for each screen at a given time).
Right now we are performing tests with a Xentera GT4 video card (4 video ouputs, agp ) in a WinXP machine with a 2.4GHz processor. The results are less than satisfactory, having the videos lag and freeze from time to time. CPU usage shoots to 95+%. We need the videos to play smoothly across the 4 screens.
Video card description here: http://www.colorgraphic.net/newsite/products/xentera_gt_features.asp
Has anyone else tried something like this? what are the results? any clue as where to search for possible solutions?

hi ,
i try to build the same thing, did you found a solution ?, does the video have sound ? did you split the sound and then display video and sound on different screens separate?
thanks,

  • Setting up multiple event videos on a single screen

    I love the concept of multiple short video presentations being selected an playing off a single screen, but I've run into a seemingly simple issue that I can't figure out. My procedure has been as follows:
    create a basic three second slide
    add multiple F4Vs to the screen and hide them. (none of the available skins have a "close" or "exit" button on them)
    set up each video to display for the rest of the slide and check the "pause slide until end of video" box
    create buttons for each video using the "Show" action.
    At this point, the videos all operate perfectly and the playbar attached (currently haloSkin3) are tabbing very nicely - but when a selected video ends, I can't close it - there's no button on the playbar to re-hide it/close it and stay on the same slide.
    I know I can develop seperate mini-projects containing individual sychronized videos and pile them all in my SCO, but I'm hoping for a more elegant solution than having multiple pop-up windows.
    Probably not seeing the forest for the trees, but that's why I am reaching out here!

    Hi There,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
    Please try this:
    1) Add a button or a smart shape (use it as a button) on the video.
    2) Click on the video and press CTRL key from keypad and click on the button or the smart shape (which was added on the video).
    3) Right click on them and create a Group. (This will create a group of video and the button which was added on it)
    4) Click on the button which you are using to show the video and change the action to show the group.
    5) Click on the button which was added on the video and select the action to hide the group.
    This may help you in showing the video with the exit button and you can exit the video also. You can change the name of the button accordingly.
    Please let me know if this helps.
    Thanks

  • How to run video on multiple screens?

    I work in theater and video production. I recently bought a PowerMac G5 with PCI-e with the intention of adding another video card later, to be able to run 3-4 independent screens.
    Here's my question: What software do I need to run multiple synchronized video files from one computer? For instance, how would I play a music video with one audio track and two video tracks for two separate projection screens? Is there software that already provides this functionality (like Macromedia Director?), or do I need to write my own?

    Your best bet is to contact someone local who does this one a daily basis. Sport arena, local tv station, someone who sets up multimedia for parties...Dj...local computer club...
    You may be out of luck trying to do this with one computer. Would be too cpu intensive...

  • DX11 Video Renderer sample code is incomplete.

    Your ref : http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/DirectX-11-Video-Renderer-0e749100
    Dear Sirs,
        So ... that project creates a DLL, which isn't a standard EVR so I have no clue how to fire it up.
    Feeback states that the only way to test it is to use a closed source version of topedit in the Windows 8 SDK.
    That isn't very helpful as that doesn't demonstrate how to use the thing.
    Please provide sample code - the simpler the better that demonstrates how to use this DirectX11 Video Renderer or a derivative to throw a video texture on some simple geometry on the screen.
    As a follow up, please demonstrate multiple video textures playing simultaneously to demonstrate the API supports this feature. If it doesn't, please add this support :)
    Sorry to give you a hard time but I need a solid video API and if Windows doesn't provide one, it's time to look to other operating systems for a robust solution.
    Regards,
    Steve.

    Media Foundation in Windows 8 added the
    IMFMediaEngine interface, which can be used to very easily set up media playback without dealing with media sessions, media sources, etc. The best part is that this interface lets you set it up as a D3D11 frame server and you can just pull frames from it.
    There is a
    sample that shows how to do this. There is no D3D11 support in Media Foundation before Win8, which is also when this API was introduced. It was said above, but before Win8 you need to continue to transfer textures between D3D9 and D3D11.
    Although it's probably not the method you want to use, since you asked, I'll add some info about the sample. The DX11 video renderer sample shows how to create a video renderer that is compatible with D3D11 hardware acceleration, but it's limited to the
    most fundamental property of a video renderer: presenting a video to a window. The sample's presenter implements IMFVideoDisplayControl just like the EVR does, so you can call IMFVideoDisplayControl::SetVideoWindow in the same way to send output to a given
    HWND. You can see in Presenter.h that it actually only implements SetVideoWindow and Get/SetFullscreen for this interface; the full EVR implements the entire interface.
    If you wanted to modify the sample for presenting into a larger D3D scene, you would need to change the logic a bit so that the presenter would give out textures or something instead of presenting to a swap-chain. This would roughly need to happen where
    the current implementation calls CPresenter::PresentFrame. Again, I think IMFMediaEngine is much simpler for your purposes, but it's certainly possible to adapt the sample if you really need the extra flexibility.

  • Android Multiple Screens

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it is possible with Adobe air to allow for multiple screens in Android. I have a HTC Incredible and a Galaxy Nexus both of which support video out. Android currently only supports mirroring for Video out. I wanted to know if it would be possible for adobe air to recognize the video out of the device as an external display that use either a MHL HDMI Out (Galaxy Nexus) or Analog-Composite video out (HTC Incredible). To illustrate a scenario that would use this: let say the app is a gallery and has x amount of pictures. The user has a video out cable connected and is recognized as the second monitor. Once the user sees a picture they like they would click on the image. Once the image is clicked it is sent to the 2nd display (the video out of the Android device) so the picture is being displayed on the larger screen while the user is still free to browse the pictures. Is this in realm of Adobe Air capabilities? Or am I misinterpreting "Multiscreen Development"?
    Thanks,
    -Nick

  • Can flash handle multiple screens?

    hi people,
    need some advice please. I want to make an application that works on 2 screen.
    on screen1 I need to make GUI with several buttons, sliders, radio buttons, field for dynamic text
    on screen2 (big screen / LED / video projector) I want to output photos and simple vector animations that are controlled with GUI on screen1
    I don't know if it is possible in Flash to have one output with GUI and other with content. Does Flash recognize multiple screen outputs? Is there an action script command to tell flash projector: this put on screen1 and this put on screen2
    PS
    I have been using flash when it was version 3. I stopped with MX version and haven't opened it for last 5 years.I was great in as1, ok with as2 but never read/write any command in as3. This is a big challenge for me
    thanks in advance

    I guess that the northcode link can be helpfull. I haven't looked at their products for quite a while, but I used to think, that they did excellent stuff. Without additional software, I think you could use the local.connection feature and two swfs - one for (remote)-control and one for display. I'm not sure about how to achive full full-screen and not loosing it when working on the controler, but there may be a solution with the help of a full-screen browser...

  • Fullscreen Multiple Screens Mac

    Is it possible to go fullscreen on multiple screens on mac?
    I can't get it to work.
    Then i tried a workaround with an UNDECORATED stage.
    but this gives this http://postimage.org/image/565ld2m1b/
    where the blue is the desktop.
    Code: -----
         private void setupStageFullScreen(Stage stage, int screenNumber) {
              ObservableList<Screen> screens = Screen.getScreens();
              Screen screen = screens.size() <= screenNumber ? Screen.getPrimary() : screens.get(screenNumber);
              Rectangle2D bounds = screen.getBounds();
              stage.setX(bounds.getMinX()+1);
              stage.setY(bounds.getMinY()+1);
              stage.setWidth(bounds.getWidth());
              stage.setHeight(bounds.getHeight());
              if(screen.equals(Screen.getPrimary())) {
                   stage.setFullScreen(true);
              } else {
                   stage.toFront();
         }

    A DMP connects to a single screen as it has a single HDMI output. Some monitors allow daisy chaining across multiple monitors but this a function of the monitor not the DMP.  With this option you can get the image to fit across multiple monitors like a 2x2 monitor setup.  The primary monitor connects to the DMP and then the rest of the monitors connect monitor to monitor using a HDMI cable.  You then program the main monitor for how you want the screens to show the image.
    The datasheet is referring to content can be placed in separate regions on a monitor.  This way you could have a video in one region, text/image in another and an RSS feed in a third.
    Hope this helps.

  • Outputting for multiple screens / projectors

    Hello everyone
    I am preparing a video installation that I would like to project through 3 projectors onto three walls side by side. I would like to slide video clips from one wall onto the next or even stretch one video footage onto all 3 walls. (with the effect that subjects from one wall glide onto the next wall without the audience perceiving any dividing lines)
    How to do that? Doe anybody have experience with such set-ups? I was thinking that maybe I could define my project settings with a video frame that would have the hight of a standard 4:3 screen but its length would be 3 times as long. I then could insert three separate footages: one to the right, one in the center, and one on the left. - DOES THIS IDEA WORK?
    and if it works, can I then just burn a simple DVD (using DVD studio pro)? What would be the final result: 3 small projections or one big image stretching (as intended) over the area of 3 walls/projectors?
    I hope I could explain myself clearly enough! If my text seems vague, then it is because I can't really predict where during the production I could encounter problems. And it's good to start a new project with the right decisions.
    thanks for your suggestions and help,
    Hynek

    I had the opportunity to talk to two video-artists and this is their solution:
    *Matrox TripleHead2Go* http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/th2go/
    (The company offers different multiple screen solutions)
    you then just edit your film on a 2160*576 Frame = 3*long normal Frame (720*576). Just make sure your pixel aspect ratio is the same as the imported video. I use a square pixel aspect ratio.
    Nevertheless, thank you for your support!

  • Video rendering or what

    Hi, rookie here, help please
    I use Premiere Elements 9 in a HP i7 4GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. When I try to edit my .MOV files (from Canon EOS 7D) the video images freezes and starts to jump, and do not follow the sound. I read on foruns that I should convert the videos to .AVI. Which I did. But no luck. The same problem happens.
    I read about video rendering, but not sure if I understood. Can't I edit the videos at the best (HD) quality? Should I convert the videos in a more compressed format?
    Can you help me? I read the forum (this one, and another ones) and I still can't solve this issue.

    Hi, nealeh, thx for your help
    I did what you told me.
    I am not sure if I understood, but I try to answer your questions:
    What video settings on your Canon did you use?
    1920x1080px 25f
    How did you get the clip from your camera to PRE9
    not sure about your question. I open then on PRE9. First, directly (.MOV files) and secondly after trasncoding (.AVI)
    What Project Preset are you using?
    same as camera's

    I didn't have any problems with flash until today. I don't know if an update of a package is the cause. I updated the system two days before this started happening, but flash still worked correctly after that update (and  I rebooted the system).
    I tried to open multiple youtube videos in chromium and the same happens. Only flash doesn't crash when I close a tab, but i get this in the terminal:
    [4592:4592:7981533979:ERROR:app/x11_util.cc(59)] X Error detected: serial 16420, error_code 147 (GLXBadContext), request_code 136 minor_code 4 (X_GLXDestroyContext)
    Maybe it's something with X?
    Edit: I tested flash with videos on vimeo and there it works with multiple videos running.

  • Screen Video Recording

    I'm looking for a utility to do screen video recording. So far I've tried ScreenMovie, Screenography, SnapZ, and Screen Mimic. They all record OK, but they're all terribly slow when rendering to a mov file. A 30-second video of a 1024 x 768 screen takes over 2 minutes in all of them.
    Coming from the Windows world I'm used to just recording and saving videos as avi files without any delays. The video courses I produce usually have at least 300 clips, so 2 minutes each just isn't going to cut it.
    Anybody know of a product or a file format that produces faster rendering?

    If you have a Mac running OS X 10.10 Yosemite, and you have an iPad with the lighting connector cable, you can record the iPad screen using QuickTime. See item #12 on this website.

  • How to change where the login option appears on multiple screens?

    God morning.
    I have multiple screens on my Mac Pro. A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter.
    When I log in the login screen appears on either the projector or the converter screens. Not on the normal screen. I need to drag the cables out for the login to enter on the normal screen. The normal screen is set to the primary screen so thats not the problem. Anyone with solution?
    Thanks!
    Eivind.

    Weird.  I have multuple monitors and the boot stuff always appears on my main monitor.
    See if smc and pram reset clears the problem.
    I have multiple screens on my Mac Pro. A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter.
    What video card are you using?  And USB-to-DVI is not the usual way for connecting monitors.  I wonder if that is confusing things.  So out of curiousity what happens if that monitor is not connected?

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 Vista 32bit video driver (NVidia) full screen video problem

    Hi, would appreciate an update from Lenovo about this.
    The NVidia VGA driver just displays a blank screen when playing video in full screen mode when hardware acceleration is turned on (the default setting). Obviously it's a pain to turn off the hardware acceleration just to get full screen video working.
    There is a generic version of the driver available from Nvidia but they advise not to use it as the oem versions are apparently modified for features like turning the screen off when the lid is closed. Maybe someone's tried the generic NVidia driver and can let me know if it's worth a go. Ideally it would be nice to hear if Lenovo are aware of the problem and are going to release an update.
