Multiple Signatures

Is there a way to sign multiple pages of a document without having to enter password for every page?

It's very important to realise that digital signatures are not like paper signatures. You ALWAYS are signing the whole document. The appearance is just incidental (in my view it should be banned because it confuses people into trusting what is on the page, which is the exact opposite of what digital signatures should be).
If you are trying to, or being asked to, sign every page, it shows a deep misunderstanding which is really quite dangerous.
Some heritage workflows need a visual stamp on each page. If so, do these as stamps (in Acrobat, not Reader), then use a single digital signature.

I have multiple signatures associated with a single account and would like to be able to choose which one to use when composing a new message. There's no choose signature option in the header and it doesn't appear under the header customize menu. I can go into Preferences>Signatures and choose from there which signature to make the default, but I'd like to be able to choose in a more streamlined process. Any ideas?

click on the little icon with the triangle and some lines to the left of the "From" field in a message composition window. in the resulting pulldown menu choose "customize". check the box next to "Signature" and click "OK".
now you'll get a signature pulldown menu where you can choose which signature to use with this message.

Automator gets a bit unweildy when trying to vary things outside of what the actions provide.  Since you are already using an AppeScript in your workflow, might as well do the whole thing:
set baseFolder to (path to desktop) -- the location to create the folder
display dialog "Please provide a new folder name:" default answer "test"
set folderName to text returned of the result
repeat -- keep repeating until a number is returned

  • Multiple signatures: signature clear disable / lock / read only

I have a form with multiple signatures, for example a Purchase Requisition form... the author needs to buy something so he fills in the form with the product he needs to buy that is worth X amount. He signs it and sends it on to his manager for approval, his manager signs it and sends it on to finance for approval signature. The author now receives this form back with all the signatures he needs, but now he can clear his signature therefore unlocking all the fields so he can change the amount to XX and resign so now it looks like he has a purchase requisition that is approved for XX with everyones approval signatures still in place... How can I stop this from happening? Can I lock certain fields with the second signature that stays locked irrespective if the author clears his signature or not. Or can I disable the 'clear signature' option after signing? If the author clears his signature, can it clear ALL signatures on the form as if resetting all signature fields so they are forced to sign again? Is there ANY way to get around this? Pleeeease help, I can't seem to get this right. I'm using Acrobat 8 Pro to create the form.

I'm here to answer my own question... and for anyone who wants to know, or has a similar issue... Create a button with the following script. It will make the form fields read-only (including signature fields!) except for buttons and comments.
    for (var i = 0 ; i < this.numFields ; i++) {
    var f = this.getField(this.getNthFieldName(i)) ;
if (f.type != "button") // do I have to change the word between " " with the name of my button which I put on my PDF? name of button is "Valider"
    f.readonly = true ;
I have not tried it on the last signature to see if it would work there as yet. At least the last one to sign can lock the form so the author cannot clear his signature and edit anything.

  • Multiple signatures/stamps in one pdf

    Hi there,
    I have a pdf document with 50+ pages(drawings) inside.
I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to place multiple signatures/stamps (same ones) on multiple pages within that pdf file. Every time i place a signature/stamp, it wants me to resave the document and adds a revision. SO literally, i would have to resave this document over 50 times with 50+ signatured revisions. There must be a less painfull way that makes sense.
All i need is have my stamp appear on selected pages of that pdf file so i can print it out, or send it to a client.
Isnt there a user-friendly way of doing this?
    Many thanks,

I do have Acorbat Pro 9, it is a part of CS4.
WIll this still be a legit (acrobat digital signuture wise) stamp?
    Thanks,

  • Digital Signature - Auto-Populate Multiple Signature Fields

    Hello,
I am in the process of testing digital signatures with PDFs.  I have a Topaz Signature Pad working in conjunction with Acrobat 9 and Reader 9 so that I can insert digital signatures with no problems.
We are wanting to take this a step further and streamline a particular business process.  Does anyone know of a way to have a digital signature auto-populate multiple designated signature fields?  We have about 15 documents that require an employee signature in multiple places and rather than having someone sign a document over and over again, we'd like the option for a single signature that auto-fills in all the required signature fields.
This doesn't necessarily have to work with Topaz Signature Pads.  I am completely open to other suggestions, products or methodologies for making this work as long as something can be automated to auto-fill multiple signature fields.
    Many thanks to the forum!
    Regards,
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
Maybe there is no need to re-inent the wheel. Auto-population of forms is a feature of SignDoc - se http://www.signplus.com/en/products/signdoc/features.php#Form_Preparation
Auto-filling of forms is requirement which can be achieved through various processes.
In combination with Adobe LiveCycle this is executed in the case study of Adobe/SOFTPRO.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/security/2010/01/adobe_secured_customer_showcas_8.html
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/showcase/index.cfm?event=casestudydetail&casestudyid=762388&l oc=en_us
However there are also other ways to move forward depending on the envrionment you are using.
If you are based in the US you may want to get in touch with Rod Vesling SOFTPROs E-Signature Specialist, based in CA near LA, for a chat. His office phone is 805 435 1214. His email is [email protected]
Depoending on the deice of Topaz you are usinfg you may start right away as quite a decent number of Topaz tablets are supported by SignDoc. However the best idea might be to give Rod a ring and idscus your business requirements in detail.
    Kind regards

  • Multiple Signatures on Exchange/Outlook 365 with multiple connected pop3 accounts wanting sepearate signatures

I was referred here from another thread, see
http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/p/245124/778388.aspx#778388but not sure if this is the right forum, so please move/correct my posting if needed!
    It's a exchange/Outlook365 query, relating to signatures
I have several connected pop3 accounts to the exchange mailbox, but there appears to be no way to have separate signatures for each connected account, in fact there appears to be only 1 signature for the entire account? So when I send emails I can select
from several different from addresses, but the signature remains the same ...
On desktop outlook 2003-2010 at least, there is the ability to have default reply, default new message signatures for each account in use, is there a way to configure the exchange/outlook365 OWA to do this ?
I'm about to test if an outlook 2010 desktop client allows/recognises the server side linked accounts and allows email to be sent from them, so any tips or points on that would be welcome!
    thanks

In Outlook2010 you can set multiple signatures, yes.
If you connect to those accounts LOCALLY using POP3 you can also then set defaults for each account ... HOWEVER
if you set the CONNECTED ACCOUNTS via OUTLOOK365 via the cloud server, the local Outlook will not let you set default signatures for each account. Yes you can have signatures and manually select them, but that's not the same thing, and leads to mistakes.
The whole point of connecting the accounts via the Cloud is that the local PC is then no longer part of the critical path when away from the office, so if the local PC crashed or lost internet, then it would not affect mail delivery to the single exchange
mailbox, for access via the web or mobile devices. Quite important. A common failure we have on local outlook pop3 connections is a single password failure to login, leaves the pop up menu on screen and then stops all other pop3 mail collection from working.
We have tried for 2+ years to solve this "password failure popup", but as the passwords are saved and don't change and the problem persists, we wanted to move to the cloud ... and avoid problems when users are away.
Last but not least, if using the cloud to send a reply to a mail via a connected account, the email is not sent as the connected account (despite it being validated for send as) but sent using a "<exchange Primary email> send on behalf of <pop3
connected email>" which defeats to whole point of connecting the accounts and verifying them!
I've got to say when even Google can get this right! why can't Microsoft? It really does suck!
For a business class product having 1 signature per user within OWA is seriously deficient.
Maybe time to move our email needs to Google, as on searching the depths of old archives it does appear these issues have been raised for several years, yet nothing has improved ... shame on Microsoft.

  • LiveCycle Designer 8.0 - Need multiple signatures on one form

    Hi
I am very new to LiveCycle Designer, and do not have ES, and probably cannot get it. I have created a form that needs to accept multiple signatures from 6 or more people.  The form was initiated from a Word-generated PDF.
I created a table that has four columns, one for the person's title, another for the signature, the remaining columns are irrelevant for this discussion. The person associated with the "title" signs in the Signature column in that same row. In the PDF version of the form, Acrobat 9 allows two signatures, but no more. How can I get Acrobat to accept signatures for all 6+ individuals? The two sigs I got were in subsequent rows.  If I can get Acrobat to accept additional sigs, do the sigs need to take place in strict order (1st row, 2nd row, 3rd row...), or can the signers sign in any table row?
Please let me knowif you have additional questions for me that can help you understand how to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    AR

    Thank you Srini,
This is what I did, for anyone else with the same issue:
Tocreate signature fields in LiveCycle Designer:
Highlight the field. In the Object pallet Type field, select: Document Signature Field.
On the Document Signature tab, make sure that Lock Fields After Signing is not checked.
These fields are a quick way for users to add a digital signature in Adobe Reader.
This seems to work well. I appreciate the help.
Just to bring it full circle, how do you delete a document signature field? Haven't found it in the Help.
    Thanks much!

  • Multiple signatures in a shared review.

    Greetings,
I am a tech writer working at an engineering company. I am driving the company toward a digital sign off process for our documentation, and I am using the shared review system in Acrobat Pro X to facilitate this process. These reviews involve 10+ people, and, in the past, the system that was used was to have a single sign off sheet with multiple lines for each representative to sign from their department. I am trying to integrate a similar process into the shared review by adding a modified version of the original sign off sheet into the shared review document that everyone can then sign electronically.
I want to use the signing futures native to acrobat and reader, but I am aware that having multiple signatures on a document is a problem. I don't understand why this feature is not possible in this software. It seems so obvious. Lot's of people have to review it, so lots of people have to sign it.
My Question: is there a workaround that will allow me to do this. I am aware that the stamp tool will allow me to create a custom stamp out of my hand signature, but that method does not time stamp and date it. Having everyone do a timed and dated approval stamp AND a hand signature stamp seems messy and rife with possible errors since most of the people who will be doing this have never used this system before.
Thank you for any thoughts or ideas.

Signature appearance ("stamp" in Test Screen Name's language) in my opinion does have a value. When it is properly generated and applied it does convey information about the signer, time, location, reason, etc. If it weren't in the signature appearance, the document's reader would have to go to Signature Properties dialog to find all these bits of information, and some of them may not even be there if the signature appearance is highly customized. Test Screen Name is totally correct when saying that inexperienced digital signatures consumers may confuse the location of a signature appearance with the part of the document to which the signature allegedly applies.
PDF does allow the signers to sign portions of a document in a limited way. When the first signer signs a document, the signature covers the complete document. When document is modified and more content is added to it and the second signer signs the document, the second signature also covers the complete document but the first signature still covers only the part of the document before any modification was applied. In this case the signature appearance may be indicative of which part of the document this signature covers.
Actually, PDF specification provides for signatures covering only a part of the document (by controlling the /ByteRange entry). It is just that Acrobat (and AFAIK other PDF producers) do not have this functionality.

  • Multiple Signatures Adobe Pro

We are having a problem adding multiple signatures to our PDF using Adobe Pro, when we used version 6 or 7 we do not have any problems.  Is there a new process in added multiple signature?

    Hi crclaunch,
Let's start with which version of Acrobat Pro are you using? Next, tell me a little about the PDF file you are trying to sign, does it have existing signature fields and if you select the File > Properties menu item , then select the Security tab are there any restrictions? Finally, since you said "we are having" I presume there are multiple users in play, are they all using Acrobat or are some of them using Reader?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Multiple signatures in Mail

The instructions on how to create multiple signatures in Mail seems very straight forward. However, I can only get one signature to appear. I have created 2 signatures for two separate accounts. Yet Signature #1 always dominates and #2 never appears as a pulldown option when composing mail. Why isn't the #2 signature activating??

Signatures must be created for each account. If you create one sig in one account and a second in the other account, then each account has only one signature. You need to create the signatures you want independently in each account.

  • Multiple signatures - only ever displays one

I have multiple email accounts - with, understandably, the need for multiple signatures.
When I hit reply from (let's call it) Account 1, the Account 1 signature is used.
When I hit reply from Account 2, the Account 1 signature is used!
It's pretty annoying. Yes the two accoutn have different signatures applied to them. If I swap the order in the 'Inbox' list Account 2's signature becomes the 'default' - so Account 1 & 2 use Account 2's signature...so it recognises they're different, it just isn't performing as expected.
What have I missed? Or am I going back to Thunderbird that just makes this so simple?

Did you rename each signature? Eg. Account 1 sig, account 2 sig?
Try Mobileme help - even if its Mail and you might not use it, they've chat help and might solve it.
Before you do, try troubleshooting by:
    1. Going to/creating a new user account.
    2. Open Mail in it.
    3. Go to Prefs>Accounts and add each of your accounts.
    4. Then try the sigs and see if the issue remains.
They'd ask you to do this anyways....

  • Clear Signature unlocks form fields when using multiple signature fields

I am having issues with putting multiple signature fields in a pdf document, and upon signing locking all but the unsigned signature fields. But when someone clears thier signature, it unlocks all the fields, but not the previously filled in signature fields. Is there an answer to that? Seems like a bug.
I am using Acrobat pro x to create the document and save with extended features and require that the first signature locks all fields EXCEPT the remaining signature fields. This works ok until someone clears thier signature and all fields are unlocked and editable. But it DOES NOT clear the signature fields of the people who previously signed the document, which looks like anyone who wants can clear thier signature block and edit the form and the people who previously signed the document still have thier signatures on the modified document. Is this proper functionality?

Please repost in the Acrobat Scripting forum.

  • Multiple Signatures possible?

Hello, new iPhone user here and I have looked for my answer but wasn't lucky.
My question is: Can I have multiple signatures? I have my personal email, my game email and my work email on my iPhone. I would like to be able to choose which signature to use based on which email account I was responding too. I don't want my real name to go out on my game emails and I don't want my gamer handle to go out to my work / personal email.
Any ideas and / or suggestions?

Unfortunately, you're limited to one signature.
