Multiple Values for OBP Environment Variables?

Hello,
Is it possible to set output-device and input-device to multiple values in OpenBoot PROM? For example, my current setup is this:
output-device=mydev
input-device=keyboard
And I plan to do this:
output-device=rsc-console
input-device=rsc-console
But is it possible to do this or something similar:
output-device=rsc-console|mydev
input-device=rsc-console|keyboard
My next opportunity to test won't be for a few weeks; any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you created 3 restricted KF: one with KF amount and variable current month, second with amount and variable 4 monthes, third with amount and variable 7 monthes ?

I have a layout for planning, where I can plan for 5 days of the week. I also have a day column (yesterday) where I have the actual values. Users want to edit/foecast the next 5 days values. I am using a Variable to get the Date column which uses the System Date. However, since I am getting just one date in the Function Module (Code given below), the remaining days are greyed out and I can not enter the forecast values. I would like the same variable to get a series of dates in the same function module. What changes do I nee dto make in the ABAP code so that the remaining columns (Date) becaoe available for editing??
The FM code I have to get "Today's Date" is as follows:

What I understand you need to return those dates from function module using parameter ETO_CHARSEL , right? If so just use this code:
ls_charsel-seqno = 1.
ls_charsel-sign = 'I'.
ls_charsel-opt = 'BT'. "we are giving ranges, so days between...
ls_charsel-CHANM = I_chanm.
ls_charsel-low = sy-datum - 1. "...first day is yesterday
ls_charsel-high = sy-datum + 4. "...and last day is 4 days from today
insert ls_Charsel into table eto_charsel.
This way you provide 5 days starting from yesterday till 4 days from today.

Binding multiple values for a clause in a PreparedStatement

Is there a way to bind multiple values for the same variable?
Example: select * from catalog where catnum = ?
and cat_num can be 12340-56, 23451-21 43211-00 etc.
so the where condition really is:
catnum in ('12340-56', '23451-21', '43211-00')

I've not been able to do this in a way I'd call clean. You might think you could do something like:// create a PreparedStatment with
// the following String: select * from catalog where catnum in (?)"
ps.setString(1, "'12340-56', '23451-21', '43211-00'");But the driver tends to escape the stuff you want to go "straight in" to your where clause. So I end up using Statement and building the SQL manually.
I'd be interested in anyone else's solution

Multiple values for one variable?

I've created my first set of variables (using Form Properties>Variables), tweeked some XML sourcecode and they're working .
What I'm now trying to figure out is how to have one variable that has 2 values that pop up in 2 different text fields.
Simple form at this point:
Item, Model and Service Tag.
The user selects the item from the drop down list and the Service Tag field is autopopulated from the variables I set.
How do I get the Model to appear based on the Item selection?
I tried putting the two values for one variable together but both values appear in the same field.
Variable info that works: Scan (variable) = MC3090BT (value)
I also need this particular variable to = Handheld scanner (try to ignore the redundancy).
I attempted to make MC3090BT as it's own variable with Handheld scanner as it's value, and add to the code below but it didn't work.
Here's some of the code if it helps:

Hi, I am trying to do the same thing..passing multiple values to receiving query variable through RRI. Right now if I assign a query variable of type multiple single values it does not take any value. It works only if I assign variable of type Single Value.
In my assignment details the sender query has Generic for type and * for selection type.
If any one knows how to pass multiple values to receiving RRI query, please give the details.

Multiple values for Time Characteristics (Ex: 0CALMONTH) in planning layout

Hello,
We are on BW - BPS 3.5v
We have a realtime infocube with only time characteristic 0CALMONTH.
There is a requirement that in my Planning layout I have to display the Keyfigures for:
(CURRENT MONTH) (CUMULATIVE 4 MONTHS FROM CURRENT MONTH) (CUMULATIVE 7 MONTHS FROM CUR MONTH)
I defined 3 exit variables on 0CALMONTH , one for Current Month, one for All 4 months from Current Month and another for All 7 months from Current Month.
In my planning layout when I use these variables for 0CALMONTH, I don't get the values for 4 months & 7 months.
I checked the variables are being populated with correct values. But when they get passed to the layout it doesn't read the Cube.
I got the basic doubt if we can give multiple values for the time characteristics in planning layout..??

Any way to pass Multiple Values for a single Label in the Parameter?

I have a Report that Contains 2 Parameters, @Customer & @Area. When trying to set up the Available Values for @Area, I'm having issues using multiple values for one Label, i.e. = "4006" Or "4610"
One of the Filters in the Report is an Operation number, which is the [OPERATION] field, which is setup as a filter on the Tablix referencing the @Area parameter.
PROBLEM: I cannot retrieve any data when trying to use the ‘Or’ Operator here. If I simply put “4006” or “4610” I retrieve data, but when trying to combine it returns no data.
Example, I need to allow a user to select ‘Chassis Incoming’, which would include data from Operations 4006 & 4610.
QUESTION:
Any way to pass Multiple Values for a single Label in the Parameter?
I realize the typical solution may be to use ‘Multi-Value’ selection, but in this case we want the User to select the Area and the multiple values for Filtering will be automatically determined for them. Otherwise, they are subject to not getting

This is what your SQL query would probably look like:

You may need to fiddle around with the Separator depending on whether SQL Server inserts a space between the comma and next value.

Now option 1 gives an error ie a syntax error (; expected or something like that)(I am sorry, i can't tell the exact error here as i am not in the office right now)
and option 2 makes the procedure execute but obviously doesn't delete the records, as it takes the whole as one.

I know there are some problems with 10.1.2.0.2, maybe if you haven't done yet you can try with 10.1.2.2, assuming this version should be working for multiple parameter values :
OracleAS Discoverer 10.1.2.2 is installed with the following patch :
Patch 4960210 PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2
So, once installed you can try adding your parameter as param_<parameter_name>='sfophiee,angela'

Best practices for defining Environment Variables/User Accounts in Linux

Hello,
After reading throught the Quick Install guide for 10gR2 on x86_64 Linux, I see that it is not recommended to define ANY variables in .bash_profile.
I'm hoping to get a Best practices approach for defining environment variables - right now we use the oracle linux account for administration including sql*plus. So, where should the myriad variables be defined? Is it important enough to create a user account in linux to support best practices?
What variables, exactly, should be defined? It seems that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is no longer being used?

Something that I've done for years on unix/linux boxes is to create a seperate environment variable setup file for each instance on the box. This would include things like ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, etc. Then I would create an alias in my .bash_profile that would execute this script. As an example, I would create a orcl.env file that would hold all of the environment variables for this instance. Then in my .bash_profile I would create a line like the following:
alias orcl=". $HOME/orcl.env"
Then from anywhere you could type orcl and you would set your environment to connect to that database.
Also, if you are using 10g, something else that is really nice if you are using sqlplus, and you connect to different databases without starting a new sqlplus session is to set a parameter in your $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/glogin.sql file:
set sqlprompt "_user 'at' _connect_identifier >"
This will automatically change your command prompt to look like this:
RALPH at ORCL >
if you connect as GEORGE, your prompt will immediately change to :
GEORGE at ORCL >
This way you can always know who and where you are connected to.

Got multiple values for non null local custom field

I get the following error message while saving a MPP from Project Professional to MS Project Server:
Got multiple values for non null local custom field.
I checked the MPP and found that there are fields with same alias as Enterprise field names. However, these fields are at a Task level, whereas the Enterprise fields are at a Project Level.
I would like to know why this is happening and the resolution for this issue. I don't want to delete the local fields.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Then try to find any inconsistencies in the project plans with the issues, like required values not entered. Also try to save the plan as XML format and save it back as an mpp file to see if it helps (be aware that any formatting will be lost).
