Multiple version of same package being distributed

Hello,
So i have a package ABC being distributed to site 01. When I check the sender log it is showing it is distributing multiple version of ABC. is this possible? Should it not distribute latest version only?
In process sending SWD package ABC  version 2 to site 01, current completion ratio = 19 percent.
In process sending SWD package ABC version 3 to site 01, current completion ratio = 1 percent.
In process sending SWD package ABC version 4 to site 01, current completion ratio = 1 percent.

Hi,
Did you edit the package when the content distribution hasn't finished?
I just distributed a package to a DP, then edited the package when it was still in progress. From my sender.log, it continued distributing package version 1 and started to send version 2.
So I think it is the way of SCCM worked.
Best Regards,
Joyce

  • HT201616 Multiple versions of same song by different artists

iTunes used to have a feature where you can view multiple versions of the same song by different artists. Is there still a way to do this without having to search through the entire iTunes store? That way takes forever and I have to sample tracks that are completely unrelated, but just happen to have the same title. Why in the world would the dumb iTunes geeks take this feature away. Someone please help. Thanks!

Have not been in ITUNES Store in quite awhile but
If it was a function, it would rely on the person or persons who authored the song to insure you did get the same lyrics so to speak.
So, if you didn't know the artist you wanted - or the authors of the song - you would have to sample them until you hit the correct one.
Itunes did grow over time - and if they did have cross reference by authors they may have removed it - on the other hand like searches may have worked because of a limited database at the time - it did seem to start adding songs based on searches that brought up nothing one time - and a month later there they were.
ITUNES has over time added restrictions - for instance at some point - you had to allow this computer on Itunes in order to have itunes synchronize to an IPOD (I purchased about 6 songs on old mac - after migration synchronized fine until they stopped - finally mac allowed more than one device so I could add this one and synchronization started again).

  • Finder shows multiple versions of same shared computer

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite my finder shows multiple versions of my computer in the "shared" panel of each finder window.  So, instead of just saying "Bedroom Computer," it says "Bedroom Computer," "Bedroom Computer (2)" "Bedroom Computer (3)," etc., five times in total.  I've tried renaming the computer in the sharing System Preferences panel -- the newly named computer appears in the side panel, but the multi-numbered versions of the old-named computer remain in the list as well.  They disappear if I turn off Wi-Fi, but re-appear when I turn wi-fi back on.  Any suggestions as to how to get rid of these phantom computers would be greatly appreciated.

The Mac that was causing the issue isn't on the network at the moment so I can't say if restoring all my base stations has helped the initial problem, but now I see something new.
Oh Darn, now I don't seem to be able to insert images.
What I'm seeing is my Mac Pro listed in “Devices” and in “Shared” in my Finder side bar, and no it fails to connect to itself if I try.
Wondering if this could be the new way to represent things when I'm using wi-fi and ethernet connections simultaneously.

  • Issue with package being distributed to DP

    Hi,
We’re having an issue with a particular DP on trying to re-distribute a driver package to. The driver package was updated and re-distributed to around 80 DP’s. The package had been successfully sent to all except one.
I have tried re-distributing packages to this DP and this failure and other packages work fine, so the issue lies with this particular package on this particular DP.
I have run through the steps within this post but still no joy:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8328f9ce-d290-4aba-8187-670080464476/sccm-2012-how-to-delete-packages-from-wmi
I have made sure the package doesn’t exist on the DP by taking it out of root\sccmdp within WMI and also removing the ini file from the PkgLib folder, as per above post. But on trying to distribute to the DP via the admin console I get Error: The SMS Provider
    reported an error.
There are no other details for the error and looking through various logs so no further indication for the error.
Interestingly the package is being reported by the admin console as not being on the DP, so re-distribution is not an option. I can only use the distribute content option, even though it had been on this DP. This error is reported at the end of the distribute
    content wizard.
Also we tried using content explorer from the Config Manager toolkit before running through the above postl, and the package was shown within content explorer but it was greyed out. The options to validate where also greyed out. On running the above removal
the package was no longer displayed within content explorer. But running through distribute content via the admin console still shows the same error message.
We then tried pre-staging the content manually on the DP. On using content explorer after this it still shows the package as greyed out.
An overnight validation doesn’t report any errors for package content either.
Another curious note is on running smsdpmon manually on the DP for the package, it reports the package as being successfully verified within the smsdpmon.log. This message is also reported back to the MP and can be seen within the Status Message Viewer.
But this message is not displayed within Monitoring -> Distribution Point Configuration Status.
We tried quite a few avenues but still no joy with this package. Could any offer any suggestions to help fix this issue?
    Thanks
    James

It was originally but the driver package needed to be updated. Once updated the package was re-distributed to all sites, but failed on one out of 80. All DP's are more or less configured the same, with the same AV protection.
The problem DP takes other packages OK. SO the thought was to try to remove the existance of the package from the problem DP. This is where we are now. Hope that is a bit clearer?

  • Multiple Versions in Same Project File?

Is there a way -- official or otherwise -- to accomplish this in GarageBand? To have different versions of a GB project, all of which draw from the same batch of .aif files as their source material, all saved into a single .band package file?
My specific situation is this: I'm about to use the same batch of about thirty .aif files (totalling a Gig or so in size), to create 7 or 8 different GarageBand projects (each fairly short -- roughly 2-3 minutes in length). Each GB project will utilize different portions of those thirty .aif files. That means if I save each project as a completely separate file (and if I'm understanding GB's file-saving structure correctly), each of those .band packages will contain complete copies of all of those thirty .aif source files. Which is not a major tragedy, but just seems like a waste of 6-7 GBs of space. (I'd also like to be able to archive all the different versions onto a single DVD, sans compression.)
The analogy I'm thinking of is when I've created two or three versions of a song in Logic (each one a different length, say), and I save them all in the same Project Folder (which I want to be playable on other people's systems who won't have the same 3rd party samples I've used). That Project Folder then only needs to contain a single copy of all the samples and Software Instruments which each of the three versions of the song needs to access. This can result in a significant saving of disk space, as well as making the overall project, with all its different versions, much more portable.
Is there any equivalent to this in GarageBand '09?
    Thanks,
    John Bertram
    Toronto

without knowing very much about what your project is, it might be easiest to just use a couple of tracks, in a single project, for each piece. iow, tracks 1, 2, & 3 contain the bits for 1 exported creation, tracks 4, 5, & 6 the next. then solo the groups of tracks and export.
after that, more the way you seem to want, *and i'd put this on the unsupported, and not the safest idea, list*...
drop all 30 aiffs into a single project's timeline. then copy the regions you want and paste them into new projects. the new projects will only contain references to the original files, not the actual files. this is risky because if the other projects can't, for some reason, find the first project with all the files contained within, they will all become useless.
(let's tag this with: Use at your own peril ... and ... Don't try this at home, kids)

  • Multiple versions of same computer listed under shared (with a number added)

    Hi,
This is not Yosemite specific as  I found numerous posts from earlier systems but no solution. I have 4 macs connected to this specific network. For whatever reason after running for months with no issue the iMac is now listed multiple times and a number is added. The previous computers do not work (as shortcuts). When reading up on  the problem, this should only happen if there are numerous macs with the same name on the same network. This is not the case the name listed under system prefs -> Sharing is unique. I tried to delete the extra number and restart the system but it never seems to stick. Looking into the Bonjour network I can find these same references. I assume the iMac thinks there is another computer with the same name and thus adds another system. This also carries over to the other computers as it lists the imac multiple times. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Can I delete the bonjour/apple file protocol prefs and as such delete all the systems?
I have turned smb/afp on/off I have renamed the system, restarted it and then going back to the old name to no avail.
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Philly

There are several possible causes for this behavior.
    1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local". Resolve the name conflict by renaming one or more of them in the Sharing preference pane.
    2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
    3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
    4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
    5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.
    6. If the router is an Apple device, it may need to be restarted.
    7. A third-party Bonjour device on the network is malfunctioning. Finding out which is a process of elimination.
    8. There is more than one DHCP server on the network. Typically, there would be two or more wireless access points configured to act as routers.

  • Multiple versions of same database

I'm developing an app which can use Oracle9i or SQLServer.
As the application evolves, I'm making chnages to the database and assign new version numbers. Since clients already use the product I sometimes have to go back an check something in an older version. This works really well in SQL Server but in Oracle, I don't know how to do this.
In Oracle, I create a tablespace and then create the new tables in the tablespace. I thought I could then create a new tablespace and add the same table to that new tablespace, but this doesn't seem to be working as oracle complains ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object.
Is there a document that explains how this is achieved correctly (I can't imagine that this is impossible).
    Pete

I think you are creating a Table in the same SCHEMA(user) or you are creating a tablespace with a name that already exists.
Can you post the instructions that raise this error.
I think one suggestion will be to create a new schema for each version of the application.
Also the concepts between SQL server and Oracle are very different.
You can check the concepts guide for more information.

  • Multiple versions of same InfoPath Template in Forms library

Using SP 2010 and InfoPath 2010.  When I create an IP template today, say with 20 fields and publish to a Forms library then my Forms library will use this template as the default template, all good.  6 months later I need to add a field and re-publish,
so any new forms will use the template with 21 fields, which is what we want.  But, I want my old forms to always display in their original version, I don't want to see 21 fields displayed for a form I saved 6 months ago.  This pattern will repeat,
next 6 months I add two more fields, and so on.  It is vitally important that the user see only what was in affect at the time they saved the form in the past, saved 20 fields, see 20 fields, when they click on an old saved form.  The analogy is
if I scan and upload an image of a Word document to a document library, and change my Word document with more content, I wouldn't expect my scanned image to change.  Silly analogy, but illustrative.
We may even want to delete a field instead of adding a field when we update the template.  But we would still want any old forms to display in their original state - no missing fields.
So what's the best way to continue to make changes to a template over time, deliver it to a Forms library, yet have the existing forms still open with their original layout, not with the latest template?
    Thanks,
    KevinHou

Got it solved, sorry.  But for anyone else wishing to do this:
    1. Publishing the form from InfoPath Designer, select SharePoint server, and "Site Content Type"
    2. Select "Create a new content type", and base the CT on "Form"
    3. Provide a name like "My IP Form CT ver 1"
    4. Specify the location of where to publish the template file, for now I just put it in Shared Documents.  You'd probably want a dedicated library just for this, set permissions, etc. so no one can mess with it.
    5. Click Next onward to Finish.  The content type is now in the Site Content gallery and available to add to a Forms library as a content type.
I then go to my Forms library and add this content type, make it the default, and hide "Form" CT.
When I need to make a new version, I update my template in IP, save it as version 2, and then walk through the Publish options again, don't do quick publish.  When I get to the relevant publish screens I select Create new content type again, base it
on "Forms" again, provide a new name "My IP Form CT ver 2", and publish to the Shared Documents library again.  Then I go to my Forms library, add this new content type "My IP Form CT ver 2" and make it the default, then
I hide "My IP Form CT ver 1" content type.  Now, both content types are still associated with the library, any new forms will use ver 2 because it is the only one not hidden and is set to default, yet any previously existing forms will continue
to use ver 1 and display using that content type (and of course the template used for that ver 1 content type, which is my ver 1 IP form!).  Cool, got what I need.

  • Multiple versions of same podcast

For some reason ITunes downloads the same podcast twice. It does not happen all the time but when it does it happens on most podcasts that I subscribe to. For instance, Diggnation from April 11th is listed twice in my podcast directory.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening and how to stop it? Thanks in advance.

This happens to me all the time, usually not jsut one old podcast, but a whole bunch. I just checked my iTunes and there was 50 old episodes of a podcast listed including the latest, however there was also another copy of the latest listed which I am half way through.
Why does iTunes keep downloading all these old podcasts? I had to set it to only download the latest one because this happens so much to me.
    Come on iTunes, fix this!!!

  • Solaris 11 IPS:  How do you post multiple versions of the same package?

How do you post multiple versions of the same software package on a single IPS instance(port)? Oracle was able to do it here with versions 151 and 175 of S11:
    http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/
Unfortunately, based on my searches, no where in the documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/technologies/ips-323421.html) does it explain to the development community how this is done. The best I can do is create pkg repo instances on different ports to host each different software version.
We are trying to deploy an IPS repository for our drivers and utilities that our customers can link to and pull updates from. We have been able to post a software package to the repository using the command:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 -d ./ Appv1.p5m
This posts the package on the IPS repository instance at port 1234 on the server. However, we would like to post multiple versions of the package on the server at the same URL. Why the same URL? So that our customers and end-users need only point to a single URL to pull down our software rather than having to add a new URL to the publisher list each time we have an update. We want at least 5 of the previous software versions to be available on the server. Posting each version of the application or driver on a different IPS instance on a different port will require customers to add multiple URLs to their publisher list and they also will not be able to initiate remote scans for updates.
Has anybody been able to do this? Is any documentation forthcoming?
    Edited by: user13489824 on Jun 25, 2012 10:17 AM

dhduvall: Thanks for your response. Yes, one would think that as long as the version numbers are different, you should be able to accumulate multiple versions of a package in a repository. It looks like Oracle has done it in their S11 repository unfortunately, as far as I know, they have not shared the steps on how to do this. I would like to publish two versions of the same package. I.E. two different manifests with two different fmri.pkg version strings and two different binaries.
If I publish one package after another like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv2.p5m
Then only the second package shows up in the repository, as if it over-wrote the first one.
Running pkgsend with two manifest, like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m Appv2.p5m
Will cause pkgsend to combine the packages and manifests as if they were a single package... not what I am trying to do.
Both approaches are complete without errors but neither achieves what I am trying to do.
alan.pae: Thank you. Unfortunately, the link didn't really help. I've read Oracle's white papers and IPS developer guide so I'm familiar with the topics covered.
Lex: Yes, I know. I specified the versions in the pkg.fmri value string.

  • Same plugin multiple versions applied

    Hi,
I have same plugin multiple version as applied. Its really strange, how this happened.
Navigation path - Setup - Extensibility - Self Update - Plug-in Updates ... Here it shows different versions of the same plugin as applied.
So, I went to Setup - Extensibility - Plugins , so that I can deploy them from servers - But that plugin is not listed.
This is blocking my use of newer version of plugin (testing)
Please let me know, how to clear this.

  • How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?

OK...this is a probably a very basic question but I'm not sure how to word it clearly.
How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project? What I mean is that I have a bout 50 minutes of video and I want to make two DVDs using different clips from this original 50 minutes of footage. It would be a real pain to have to re-import the video AGAIN for the second DVD. I suppose I could drop anything I don't want to burn to DVD back into the clips pane but that would wipe out all my transitions wouldn't it? I want to save each project in their “raw” form so I can burn additional DVDs later otherwise I would just do them one at a time and not care about one of them being destroyed.
Wow...that was a mess. Does anyone understand what the heck I’m asking? I hope so.

How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?
You can't. You make separate projects using the same or different clips, segments, transitions, titles, etc. You can even duplicate the first project and then modify/make the desired changes in the duplicated project. Each project can then be burned as a different DVD or as different titles on the same DVD if there is enough room.

    Hi Kim,
May be you can try this and see if this works for you. I am not 100% sure if it will work for you, but worth a try I guess. Create a Test WebDynpro project and try the following steps on this project. If they work  out correctly and serve the purpose for you only then try them on your actual Web Dynpro project.
    1. Create a test Web Dynpro project  say "TestWDProject" with Component say "Comp1" and the default views and windows etc.
Also create some working application our of this component and Windows using the Context.
    2. Right click the "Comp1" and select Copy.
    3. Right click 'Components" node in the project structure and select "Paste"
4.This step will try to paste the copy of Comp1 as a new Component.
    5. You can change the Name and Package of the Component.
6.Similarly you'll get the prompts for views, windows etc.
7.Once you have copied everything, Just check if everything looks good.
8.Now you can create a new Application using this new component and the Component Interface View and Deploy it.
9.Test whether the Application created out of this copy works same as the original component.
You can also try to create another Web Dynpro project and paste the Comp1 in the Components node of that new project and perform the same steps.
Again, try with these Test Projects and see if this serves your purpose before applying the steps on actual projects.
