Multiple Workflows

We have hundreds of applications. Each application has its own processes. We need to define one workflow for each application. And load all of them to oracle database. Is it possible for Oracle to handle?
Can each of processes call external java programs? It's different JVM. Should I use RMI for that?
Thanks a lot!
Jie

Hi,
Based on you description, I have done a test.
1. Navigated to C:\Users\<service-acct>\AppData\Local\Temp.
2. Published the workflow from SPD.
3. Workflow publishing process was actually creating all the required files under Temp folder.
4. Once the workflow is published, it cleared out all of those temp files.
Per my test, during the workflow publishing, SharePoint will create all the required temporary files under the temp folder. Once the workflow is published, it clears out all of those temp files.
So it is the cause some of them will receive error saying that the temporary file could not be found.it is by default.

  • Dynamic CSV file name in target (Multiple workflow calling same dataflow with new global variable value)

    Hi their,
I have multiple data flows doing 90% of the process same. The difference is in source query where clause and target flat file.
I used the global variables to dynamically change the query where clause easily, but I need help in dynamically changing the target flat file (CSV file).
What I want to do is have multiple workflows, which will first set the global variable to new value in the script box and then call the same data flow.
Please let me know if you have any solution or any idea which might put me in the direction to my quest for solution.
    thank you,

Hi Raj - in your content conversion for lineitem .. read the additional attribute as well.
Change your source strcture and additional field company_code
As you are already sending the filename for each line item using the UDF.. it's just you need to modify your UDF to take another input i.e. Company Code.
    or
If your PI version is > 7.1 use the graphical variable to hold the filename..
and while sending the company code information for every item just use the concat function to append filename & company code..

  • Multiple workflows publishing at once SOAP error

Hello, we are running SharePoint 2013 August 2014 CU with SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012. We are having an issue where when
users simultaneously publish a workflow, one of them will receive a SOAP error saying that the temporary file could not be found. I believe this to be an issue with how the workflow is compiled. The compiler puts temporary files in the \appdata\local\temp
folder and then once the workflow is publish, it clears out those temp files. When multiple workflows publish at the same time, the first workflow to complete will clear out the temporary files of the other workflow trying to compile and will throw the error.
Is this by design or is this something we have not set up properly in our environment?

  • Multiple workflow columns are creating when the workflow is started

    Hi,
I have created the workflow based on "Document" content type and have deployed and associated it to it's children content types(CT1, CT2, CT3), Later i have added documents(Doc1 based on CT1, Doc2 based on CT2, Doc3 based on CT3) in the document
library and run the workflow and they are running fine.
But the problem is that, whenever i run the workflow on the new document which is based on different content type than earlier, then a new "workflow status"column is getting created instead of using the already existing workflow status column.
This behavior is happening only when i tried to associate workflow from code and when i manually associate directly in the site it works fine.
Does anyone know how I would go about this?
    Chakradhar

    Hi Chakradhar,
According to your description, my understanding is that a same workflow status column was created when running workflow on a new document.
Did you re-publish and re-associate multiple versions of workflow to the content type?
If yes, then multiple workflow status columns would be created on the SharePoint List.
In addition, if we ever delete the workflow association to the content type or list and re-associate later to the content type or list, workflow status columns created by the previous association gets left behind.
I recommend to make sure that the workflow has not been re-published and re-associated.
You can delete the extra Workflow Status Column in the list:

  • General Workflow is receiving multiple workflow errors

    Dear Team,
i have working in production system facing problem with workflow.
General Workflow is receiving multiple workflow errors
Resulting in confusion for business users to resolve.
Old Workflow errors that have been resolved appear to have been resent and sent to the wrong people.  Claims Workflow messages are being sent to Customer Service, etc.  only thing is we know the user who had changed.
please guide me how to achive this problem?

    Hello,
How are emails being sent to users about errors in already processed workflows?
Not by the workflows, they've already been completed. Do you have a custom job running periodically that looks for errors?
Check SM37. Also make sure these mails aren't coming from a Test system.
Could you give an example of one of these mails.
When you find the solution to your problem, please post it here.

  • Executing multiple workflows via an ActiveSync form

Is it possible to launch multiple workflows from an ActiveSync input form?
I am playing with the viewOptions.Process and processInputs.task.process but cant seem to figure it out.
Any ideas that can shed light on this would be highly appreciated.
    /A

Forms are generally used for Data transformations. The input form is provided for this purpose.
You can specify a "process rule" on Active Sync configuration. This rule is the name of the workflow that will be launched when ActiveSync is executing. You can launch multiple workflows from this workflow then.

  • Multiple Workflows and SOA Projects and Composites

Hello I appolgize if this question has been asked I can't find any information on this basic design approach.
I noticed in the SOA Composites that a reference service can only be access by one BPEL component. I have multiple different workflows that need to access these external references does that mean that each workflow should be it's own SOA Project with it's own composition?
And my last question is I have workflows that are in common between the different flows I'm assuming I would have to expose these as webservices and treat them as external references?
    Thank you,
    Shane

I have finally answered my own idiotic question. I was originally under the assumption that you could only connect one component to one output, but that is not the case. I was originally attempting to drag the component to the yellow arrow instead of connecting it directly on top of the current output connector.

  • Running Multiple Workflows from One Main Workflow

So I am new to using the Automator, so I might be going about this the hard way. Any help would be great!
I have created individual workflows that copy folder content from my desktop to a folder on a server. There are multiple ones, because they are going to different locations on the server. I'm trying to set up a workflow that will run all of the workflows that I have saved in the same folder. But I'm not sure that I can run a workflow using variables.
Right now I have a different one set up where I manually select each workflow file, but I am hoping to automate this.

Download the following workflow action. This should work.
You can also layout for me exactly what you are trying to achive and I can help you put the worfklow together.

We have a small workflow, when I open it from database, it opens multiple other workflow item types which are not
    related to the process.
Can anybody tell me how to remove the links between these item types.
    thanks

I have a custom workflow process, while developing it we might have used some activities from oracle standard worflow process(PO Standard), now whenever I open the custom workflow process it opens the standard process with it. Same thing happens when deploying the process to database.
Is there a way to remove the connection between the two item types.

  • Multiple "Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013)" content type found

Users on one specific sub-site reported that they are unable to add site columns to content type. When user clicks "add existing site column" user get error message - upon looking up on ULS, it indicate there were duplicate column "System.ArgumentException:
No two choices should have the same ID". I came across similar issue on different site before and resolved it by deleting duplicate column, plus that site column was not used on any list or associated with any content type but this time duplicate
column is "Task outcome" column which is associated with "Workflow Task(SharePoint2013)" content type. So looking up these two specific site column and content type I noticed there are 8 occurrence of each at affected site
    level (see below on image).
Similarly there are 8 "Task Outcome" columns under Site Columns. So I refreshed staging env with prod copy and tried to delete "Workflow Task(SharePoint 2013" content type and got error message as shown below. Under Site features, I noticed
"SharePoint 2013 Task List" feature was enabled, hoping this will do the trick I disabled it as we still use SharePoint 2010 workflows, but to no avail.
    Sorry, something went wrong
The content type "Workflow Task (SharePoint 2013)" is part of an application feature.
Not sure how it got started and something will try to find out but any advise on how to fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    MK Sin

    Hi Sin,
According to your description, my understanding is that the users got an error when clicking “add existing site column”.
For deleting the duplicate “Task outcome”column, you need to go to the “Workflow Task(SharePoint 2013)” content type, click the “Task outcome” column, and remove it from the content type.
Then go to site columns, find the duplicate columns, and delete them and make sure only one “Task outcome” column exists.
After the above, re-add the “Task outcome” into the “Workflow Task(SharePoint 2013)” content type.

  • Execution of multiple workflow items in inbox

Weu2019d like to have the possibility to approve more than 1 work item at the same time (same task). We can select more than 1 item but when we approve, we still have to approve each one of them. In the personal workflow settings I couldnu2019t find the option "Transfer of Execution to Other Work Items Possible". I also check in customizing u201CChange Presettings for Personal Workflow Settings - Further settingsu201D but I donu2019t find this option.  Do I need to change something else in the customizing (release 6.4 - 6405.5.23.1024)?
    Thanks for your help

    Giulia,
This is not possible via SBWP. However you can always create a custom program. The program will collect and show workitems pending for current user.
You can show the list in a tabular form. User can select more than 1 item.
Once selection is over you can approve the workitem via the program.
However there is some catch - some hardcoding will be needed.
This is because the program should know what options a particular decision task provide. For eg, 1 task could give only approve as option whereas other may give as approve and reject both,
You can also put task specific settings in custom table to secure future workflow additions. Need to put some logic in your program to handle that.
I do not have access to system at present. Try searching for FMs to get workitems in the inbox.
    Hope this helps

  • Multiple Workflows Created because of BOR event

    Hello,
I have created a workflow which is triggered based on an event.  I've created a subtype to BUS2054 called ZBUS2054.  It is called WBS_EXTRA.WBS_Changed.  I've attached this, using transaction BSVW, to listen for when WBS elements are changed to a status of TECO.
This has worked well so far except for one problem.  If a user sets the status to TECO it will create the workflow.  If they remove the TECO status and later go back in to add the TECO status back in it will create a duplicate workflow.  I'm trying to figure out how to listen for the removal of the TECO status but can't figure out how to do it.
I created another event called WBS_EXTRA.TECO_Status_Changed and was going to use BSVW but don't see any way to connect to a removal of a status.
    Thank you in advance,
        Jonathan

Thank you Seth.  I had just started down that path right before you answered the question.  I've created a new method to search for previous workflows and am now implementing it in my workflow.  I appreciate the suggestion.

  • How to correct multiple workflow errors

I'm getting hundreds of workflow notifications every day, notifying with some error. I then just have to press the Corrected buttom on the notification. But when I get so many, I would appriciate if anyone could tell me a how to handle this smarter.
I would like to write a PL/SQL to handle this.
    The question therefore is:
When I press Corrected, is there a PL/SQL called?

    Hi,
The first thing that gets called is to set the RESULT attribute for the notification to whatever the response is. This is done via WF_NOTIFICATION.SetAttrText.
Then the system calls WF_NOTIFICATION.Respond to respond to the notification.

  • Multiple workflow templateIDs causing headaches when trying to trigger WF from core search results XSLT

For each result in a core results web part I want to add a link to a workflow that adds the item's file name and url path to a link list that is to be used as a favourites list.
The workflow itself is pretty simple to create and works fine when triggered the normal way - from the item's actions menu in the list or library. If I take a look at the URL from the workflow start page it passes in three parameter values for listID,
    itemID and th workflow templateID.
    http://[site url]/_layouts/IniWrkflIP.aspx?
    List={a18f984d-d206-4b03-8551-009764bdc7fd}
    &ID=79
    &TemplateID={39386c81-7a88-4567-9442-763e65f78a41}
&Source=http://[url to page to return to after WF has completed]
In the core search results XSLT there are no problems constructing this URL for each result item with the two first parameter values. Both the listID and the itemID can be used in the XSLT through first setting up managed properties mapped
to existing crawled properties (in Central Admin's search administration).
BUT when it comes to the workflow's templateID things get more complicated as this will not be the same for every instance of the workflow. If a list workflow is created all content types of the same list get the same templateID, but if you update the workflow
in SharePoint Designer then it's assigned a new templateID. Also, if you create a reusable workflow then it's assigned a new templateID each time it's associated with a new list or content type, AND again if it's updated.
My initial plan of using one workflow and hardcoding it's ID into the link is thus dead, and I'm now searching for options on how to dynamically get the last updated valid templateID of my workflow into my XSLT code.
    Any ideas?
My code thus far. 'Customlistid' and 'customitemid' are my two custom managed properties easily set up through Central Admin.
    <div class="addtofav">
    <a href="{concat('../../_layouts/IniWrkflIP.aspx?
    List=',customlistid,'&amp;ID=',customitemid,
    '&amp;TemplateID={399089b6-a65b-42b6-a0ea-95eb3f1ac921}
    &amp;Source=http://someurl.aspx')}" title="Add to favourites">
    <img src="/_layouts/images/star.png" border="0" />
    </a>
    </div>

    Hi Henning,
i am agree that the workflow ID should be generated dynamically, and you may need to get the dynamic ID to your code.
so, the workflow may need to be created first, then it need to pass to the code.
to achieve this, perhaps you can use javascript then combine it?

  • Calling Multiple Workflows.

    Hi All,
We have a multiselect list , on each selected item a specific workflow shud trigger on Checkin.
Can Anyone please suggest ways for going abt it.
    Thanks in Advance.

So you have a Multi Select field (xMyMultiSelect) with values: A, B, C
There are workflows for each: A and B and C
If I check in a document with "A,B" do you want the A and B workflows to be chained?
    To do this,
    1) get the docs into a master "traffic cop" workflow with a generic entry step (e.g. all docs with any non null value in xMyMultiSelect - use the wildcard operator for that criteria)
    2) in the entry event of step 1 parse the value of xMyMultiSelect and put the chain into a companion file string - <$wfSet("thisWorkflowSet", xMyMultiSelect)$>
    3) create a jump into the first step of the first workflow selected AND make sure to have a return step to your master workflow.
    4) each time you come back to your master workflow, read the next value in your companion file and jump into that workflow until you're done.
You are basically turning each workflow for your multi select list into a sub-workflow and chaining them together. This is very similar to how dynamic routing works. The only difference is that instead of users picking the next step a each stage along the way, the author is picking the step sequence via your multi select list at checkin time.
    hope this helps.
