Multiprovider Runtime

hi experts,
 I am trying to execute a query based on Multiprovider built on more than 2 cubes.
 I have aggregates created on the cubes. but when I am trying to execute the query it is not hitting the aggregate table. 
 It is not even allowing me to propose aggregates on cubes based on the query of multiprovider.
 The query Run time is too high(More Than 20 mins). What to do to solve the prob

Aggregates are not useful for multiprovider query.
Try these to improve query performance:
1. Use filters.
2. Create indexes on cubes.
3. Use CACHE ...
4. Archive old data if not required.

Getting Runtime error while executing Query on Multiprovider

Hi ALL,
When i m executing a query on multiprovider it is giving me runtime error as:
*Error Reading the data of the infoprovider
An Exception with the type CX_SY_ARITHMATIC_OVERFLOW occured
overflow in the operation.*
I ran this query today morning also it ran successfully, now it is giving this error.
Please help me.

The dimension design of infocube are important for performance and each dimension will link to some master data and SID id.

MultiProvider report not functioning - overwriting protected field

Hello,
I have a multiprovider that combines data from the Sales Overview cube (0SD_C03) with a custom plan cube (data from COPA and SIS). In writing queries off of the (active) multiprovider, short dumps occur except when only running against one infoprovider. In other words, if the query is restricted to only show Sales data (0SD_C03), it works fine. If the query is restricted to only show Plan data (custom plan cube), then it works fine. However, the intersection of the two does not work - which is the entire functionality of the multiprovider (a join).
I've cut the query back to the very basics: Fiscal Year and one Key Figure (that is present in both source infocubes). Without specifying or splitting out the InfoProviders, it should combine the data (total the two), but instead creates a short dump. Using a structure to split Actuals from Plan also results the short dump. The only way to get the report to actually execute and return is to restrict it to just one InfoProvider. I tried copying the MultiProvider and starting over, but that did not improve the situation. The failure occurs after the variable screen has been filled in. (Also tried w/out variables.)
Using LISTCUBE, the data is found in a single execution (no filter applied to 0INFOPROV) and splits out to the two infoproviders w/ approp. fiscal year and Key Figure totals. So there seems to be something at the reporting layer malfunctioning.

Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLRSDRC" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.

The program tried to assign a new value to the field "<L_SX_OLAPQUERY>" even though it is protected against changes.
The following objects are protected:

 - Constants (CONSTANTS)
 - Parameters of the category IMPORTING REFERENCE for functions

Multiprovider containing non-cumulative KF and cumulative KF

I have two infocubes that I have placed in a multiprovidor. Infocube #1 contains one non-cumulative key figure and some cumulative key figures. Infocube #2 contains all cumulative key figures. When running a query against the multiprovider, all key figures (from both infocubes) are displayed except for the non-cumulative key from Infocube #1, in which case the value is blanks. Is there something I am missing?

Yes SAP has defined some Restriction for Creation of MultiProvider for Non Cummulatived Key Figures.

Detailed Query Runtime Statistics - Substeps of Data manager Event

Dear All,
I am using the report for 0TCT_MC02_Q0200 to analyse the Detailed Query Runtime Statistics.
The report shows that the Event 9000 (Data manager Event) took a time of 109 seconds.
I would like to know as to what does the 9000 Data Manager Event that takes 109 seconds do for me.
What is it doing for 109 seconds ????
Can I have more details about the substeps of Data manager Event and time taken by them ??? Any Table or a report would suffice my requriement.

Hi Jain,
Execute the query in RSRT or in RRMX. To Check how much time it is taking to execute this querry?? To get this information, Goto SE11> Give table name RSDDSTAT_DM in BI7.0 or RSDDSTAT in BW3.x> Display -> Contents-> Give from date and to date values as today, user name as Ur user name, and give the query name--> execute.
Now u'll get a list with fields like Object name(Report name), Time read, Infoprovider name(Multiprovider), Partprovider name (Cube), Aggregate name... etc. If the time read is less than 100,000,000 (100 sec) is acceptable. If the time read is more than 100 sec then it is recommended to create Aggregates for that query to increase performance.

Query Runtime evaluation against MultiProviders

I am testing dividing a cube into 2 logical partitions by fiscal year. I am placing a multiprovider on top of the logical partitions and have copied three queries I wish to test the runtime affect. This is a proof-of-concept idea I need to prove before suggesting an architecture change.
When executing the queries against the original cube, I can see the runtime results in ST03N. When I execute the queries against the MultiProvider, I do not see the results. ST03N only shows queries that were executed against a cube... not a MultiProvider.
I did try using RSRTRACE, but I am not confident the CMD_PROCESS time is correct. I have also looked into the standard delivered Statistical Reports, but didn't see any that would provide me with the runtimes of the MultiProvider queries. Perhaps I just missed the correct one.
Any recommendations?

You could use RSRT which has a boatload of options on how you want the query to run when you first select Execute and Debug button (e.g. Do not use Cache, Do Not use BIA, etc.). One of my favorite options is Display Statistics Data which breaks down the query execution time into all of its myriad of components. You need to Green arrow back after you get the results to get to the Statistics screen.

I hope you already installed the statistics.
You can get lot of details like which quereis are being used and their history and how many times they executed and by whom , when and also tells DB, OLPA, and Frontend times in ST03N in Expert mode

Runtime error in starting Lightroom

I receive the following message when I try to start Lightroom:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:...Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.2\lightroom.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Lightroom ran well for several days and then failed to open with the above message.
I have tried everything I know to do (uninstalled and reinstalled the application, restored the computer to a restore point before Lightroom was originally installed, etc.) and do not know were to go from here. Suggestions would be appreciated.
I am using Windows XP sp2 and have 4 GB of ram and 250 GB of hard disk space.

Error in installing Adobe AIR runtime (Windows)

I've been trying to install TeeBoard to be used with OBS, however, AIR will not install no matter what i do. I've followed all the help on the support page and none of it worked. It keeps saying i need administrator access even though i'm running it as an administrator. Additionally, every time i double click a .air extension to try and install the application it wont open up with the windows installer.

Can we view data in Multiprovider

Hello All
In one of my interview he asked me can v view data in multiprovider.(Not in reporting level).
I said no,he said yes?
If anyone knows abt this pl let me know.

Hi Balaji,
Yes. Your are right that teh multi-provider does not store any data. It is like a view that displays the data from various data targets using union. LISTCUBE displays the data using those unions and displays the data. It is not fetching data from any underlying table of the Multi-provider. Probably if you debug then you would find the various SQL statements fetching data from the other data targets using the join conditions.
LISTCUBE is just meant for displaying the data from an Info-provider in the backend.
If you are familiar with R/3 then you would have noticed that you can see the data in table or view in SE11/SE16 even though a table has data where as a View does not. It is something similar to that.

Multiprovider report problem

Let me explain you the Multiprovider report with example .
Multiprovider is created based on Basic cube and DSO . Basic cube has Billing doc number in line item dimension .
DSO has Billing document number , Item number and Partner function as primary key.
I have Created one diemension on Multiprovider where I have assigned Billing document number , and other 2 data fields from DSO which are not available in Cube . Is it correct design ?
DSO have below records .. - Doc no , Item and PF are primary key of DSO .
Billing doc no      Partner function     Personal Number    Customer number
100                                 ER                                1
100                                 Y1                                                              555
100                                  Y2                                                              111
In Cube I have below records -
Billing doc no     Sales Org          Netvalue            Total sale
100                      001                      $ 3000               $3200
200                        001                    $ 5000                $5100
When I execute the report based on MP by partner function i should get below result.
Billing doc   PF    Personal Number    Customer number Netvalue   Total sales
100             ER         1                              555                       3000          3200
Is it possible ?

Multiprovider is a union of infoproviders.So you can achieve the report you want by building a Multiprovider with the Cube and DSO.You have to assign the Billing doc no to both Cube and DSO during the craetion of the Multiprovider.
When you execute the report on the MP on Purchase Order, all the values of Billing doc no will be fetched from both cube and DSO(as MP is a union).
According you can set a filter to fetch only specfic data from a specific part-provider of the Multiprovider.
Also At query Designer level a InfoObject : 0INFOPROV will be available which will give and option to fetch the data only from a specifi part provider of MP if required.
