Multithread speed slow

Hi I am using c# write real time software based on windows 7. but when I write more than 3 thread, the software will be very slow, can anyone give me some clue on how to write efficient code?
I have eliminated the mutual method between threads, but the speed still slow, especially when UI refresh.
I need to extract real time data from four units, these units will run one by one but have overlap, and I need to calculate the real time data and write the result into file. although I am using one thread to handle all these data now, but I still feel it's
not safe, maybe four or more threads will be much better.
I can not post all my code here, but could you give some suggestions on organizing multithread programming?
thanks.

Hi I am using c# write real time software based on windows 7.
C# uses a garbage collector memory approach. GC+Real time stuff just don't mix:

Otherwise we really need some details on how you made multithreading. There is too much you can make wrong to even start guessing what culd be wrong in your case.

speed slow problem for my mac book pro

My mac book pro has an i7 processor, and still slow. The monitor of activity, when the computer just turned on says 1.8 GB in use (or more). Is it OS Lion?, because the amount of processes in the list don´t use much memory. Programs have a delay to open, close, save, etc. Y can´t have more than 4 or 5 programs running and my memory decreases dramatically. My disk has 140 GB free. I´ll be very thankfull if I can have some help.

  • Speeds slow in the evening consistently

    Hi everyone.
I had infinity 2 installed last week. Speeds at times are great - even yesterday I saw downloads exceeding 74Mbps around midnight.
However I am consistently seeing speeds slow to under 30Mbps or even slower in the evenings, which obviously coincides with peak times.
I am connected to the Wrexham exchange WNWX. The engineer did also test my line last week and he was getting about 71 Mbps without any errors. This was about midday.
I have been checking with the PC connected directly to the home hub4 via ethernet cable.
Surely the problem must be due to congestion on the cabinet/exchange/network?

Just joined here to say I am having exactly the same issue. I had BT Infinity 1 installed on June 17th and from the very beginning have been getting download speeds of up to 39mpbs except between the hours of 5pm to 11pm when I can barely achieve 1 mbp at times. It can vary by half an hour but its every single day. I too have constant upload speeds of around 8mpbs during this period.
Having read other similar threads I have neither the time or the inclination to go through the hassle of reporting this problem. However as it is obviously not my line or equipment at fault I just wanted to put my issue out there so BT could look at what appears to be a congestion issue. I live in Rochdale nr Manchester.
I know speed reduces at peak times but getting less than 1 mpb for up to 6 hours a day isn't really good enough is it.  I got faster on my old Orange broadband which cost less.

  • Internet speed slows down when connected via airport express

Internet speed slows down when connecting via airport express. When connecting directly via the timecapsulethe internet speed is ok, when connecting via the airport express the speed slows down. What can I do to change that? Any suggestions?

Turn off the AirPort Express completely as a test, and move your computer very close to the location of the Express.
As I said before, the Express can only extend the bandwidth (speed) that it receives from the Time Capsule, so the speed that you see there with the Express powered off will be the fastest speed of which the Express is capable.
The Express will make the signal go further when it extends....but it will not make the signal go faster.
A good location for a device that extends wirelessly is a point that is about half the distance from the Time Capsule and the general area that needs more wireless coverage.
If you locate the AirPort Express too far from the Time Capsule or there are more than a couple of walls in the signal path, the signal will be very slow by the time that it reaches the Express....and the Express simply extends a signal that has already slowed down significantly.
If you already have the Express located about half the distance between the Time Capsule and general area that needs more wireless coverage, how many walls, ceilings or other obstructions are there in the signal path between the Time Capsule, the AirPort Express and the area that needs more coverage?
Often, due to obstructions, it is just not possible to achieve good performance when you try to extend a network wirelessly. The solution is connect the AirPort Express to the Time Capsule using a wired Ethernet connection.
There is virtually no signal loss with this type of connection, so the Express can be located exactly where it is needed and it will produce a much faster wireless signal in this type of setup.

  • Speed slowing down

They said I should get 54/14 and when first installed got 42/9 so I thought OK not a problem I expected it to be less well now every time it decides to reboot its self my speed slows down I'm now on 28/8 and according to there speed test I have I line profile of 31.34 I am not happy does any1 think it will be possible to tell them to stick there infinity where the sun don't shine and get out of the contract as I can only see it getting slower

your router usually directs name resolution requests to bt dns servers
these convert web addresses that you type into numbers that the internet needs
bt dns servers are usually poor which could be responsible for the problems you have but the router doesnt allow you to change them
however it is possible to override them in the network settings of the pc

  • Internet Connection Speed SLOW!

    My Set-up...
2012 MacPro 3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon running Mavericks 10.9.5
    Airport Extreme Base Station -  Card Type: AirPort Extreme  (0x14E4, 0x8E) - Supported PHY Modes: 802.11 a/b/g/n - Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.106.98.100.22)
    Modem - NEW Arris DOCSIS 3 CM820
Suddenlink High-Spped Cable (up to 50Mbps advertised in my area)
MackBook Pro 17" 2011 Model running Yosemite 10.10.2
Here is my problem. Last week Suddenlink increased the minimum bandwidth in my area to 50Mbps from 15Mmbps. They said I would need to upgrade to a DOCSIS 3 Modem to be able to take advantage of that speed increase however, so they sold me a new modem (Arris CM820) which I hooked up today.
I ran a Speed-Test at http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ both with my old Motorola Modem just before I disconnected it, then ran the test again after I upgraded the modem. I am connected to BOTH my PowerMac 2012 and my MacBook Pro 2011 via the SAME WiFi Network Base Station (Airport Extreme). My older MacBook Pro immediately showed a HUGH Speed Gain when running the speed-test, but the MacPro "download speed" actually went DOWN??? What could cause this?
    Mac Pro:
Before: 17.48 Mbps Download | 1.59 Mbps Upload
After: 3.32 Mbps Download | 5.37 Mpbs Upload
    MacBook Pro:
Before: 17.32 Mbps Download | 1.52 Mbps Upload
After: 49.36 Mbps Download | 5.58 Mbps Upload

As far as your configuration goes, I do not see anything strongly out of whack. You may want to set IPv6 to link-local only (both here and on your Macs) since it is not yet used for most Home Networks (but may be used by Bonjour Service Discovery). It seems unusual that your Airport Admin port (50.27.113.156) is set to a "real" Internet address, and not just a 10.0.xxx.yyy "strictly-local" Address, such as Manually  10.0.1.201 (just beyond the range you are using for your Macs). Do not set anything to 10.0.1.254 -- that is reserved for Broadcast your local network.
The way it is set now, I can ping that Admin address from across the Internet. It is showing about a 75 msec answer time at this writing, and no lost packets.
In the 2.4GHz band, there are at most three clear channels at higher speeds (where the channels were originally created for older 11Mbits/sec.) You are showing at least six other Routers in range. Using the 2.4GHz range means you are trying to shout over those other Networks. This will work for a while, but when they are active, you will slow way down.
Slowing down appears to be what is showing with your updated Option-WiFi screenshot. Your signal strength is still very good, but your Transmit rate had to be reduced from 130 to 104 due to inability to send without errors at highest speeds. You may still be getting errors, which would cause re-transmissions and slow your speed test results, but may not be so slow that the Transmit speed would downshift again (yet).
As an experiment, try running your Router at 5GHz n-mode only. Use it for a while that way. Maybe even run the speed Test. Then capture that Option-Wi-Fi data again and post it here. I would expect it to show a consistent higher speed (like 300), and not give you other problems. But if it cannot attain a higher speed, that may indicate a Hardware Problem.
I do not understand why your Mac does not move to the 5GHz band automatically.

  • Broadband dropping out, noise high, speed slow

Have had past problems with high noise, which seemed to have been solved by having the mods reset noise down (thanks) with line speed increasing up to around 2Mbps over the last couple of weeks (great from where I was previously).  See http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Speed-Connection-Issues/Slow-broadband-downstream-line-speed/m-p/33081...
Tonight around 4:50pm (when all the kids in the neighbourhood have come back to their homes, and are playing online games) broadband drops out, noise jumps up to 22 from about 15 where it was previously I think, speed dramatically drops to less than 1Mbps.
Q1: Any idea how to get noise down again and speed back up?
Q2: Have I got a faulty hub that it keeps dropping out like this (hub is quite new)? Peculiar that it seems to happen at busy periods though - I've had this kind of drop out before, which is why I'm going straight to the forum.  I have already had broadband boost engineer out in the past and that makes me think it's unlikely there's anything wrong with my line.
Any ideas about solutions will be gratefully received!  (Just started working from home office today with 3 people - had thought I had us all on 2MB+ - but not now!)  Help!

  • Why is my internet speed slower on my 4g iPod touch compared to my 1g iPad (Wifi only), though we use the same router?

i bought my 4g iPod touch just 3 months ago fromt the US. Internet speed was just fine and working consistently while i was using a d-link router.
my Wi-Fi network is password protected and since has not affected the speeds on my pc or my iPad (wifi only). However, just 4 weeks ago, i bought a new router, an Aztec one. That has not improved or worsened the speeds on my pc or iPad, but worsens only my iPod touch, even though it says its connected and has a full signal strength.
    Here are the symptoms:-
    1. iMessage is now really slow as after i click send, the loading bar at the top lags.
    2. i can't go on to google or any site or app that involves internet connection e.g. Facebook, Twitter
    3. I can't purchase or get apps from the App store as the searching takes way too long.
    4. Now as i pull down the notifications bar, it shows temperature but no stock; i can't even access the Stocks app
    5. I can see the temperature for the day on the notifications, but i cant see the details for the rest of the week like i was able to
    6. I now cant read any updated emails on Mail as it takes way too long
I live in a country called Brunei, and speeds are the worst there, yet they shouldn't be this slow especialy when my friends and other devices are working.
So, what's wrong? Is it my new router?

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

  • DSL speed slow down after 10.5 upgrade :(

    Hello all,
I have a question, and need the Apple cyber-community to help me with this one.
I have A.T.& T.'s DSL service. I have a 2WIRE 1701HG router-DSL modem. I HAD 1.2mg download speed 99% of the time with MacOS 10.4.x. Yes I know that it is not very fast, but I live in the country side and am at the VERY VERY end of the line of service.
After I upgraded to MacOS 10.5.x, my down load speeds have slowed down to around 200 to 850bps. I have checked my hardware, and all seems fine. I called A.T.&.T and they ran a speed check and said I was getting 1.5 speed. Any ideas how to fix the issue?
    Thanks,

PS: "Get a Windows Vista computer!!" That was what I got from the tech at A.T.&T. "They don't have this problem....................."

  • Rip speed slower with imacg5 versuz emacg4

    Hi there,
Can anyone explain why an emac G4 1,25 chz.1G ram OSX 10.3.9 rips an audio cd in itunes 6.0 TWICE the speed than a brand new Imac isight G5 1G ram 20inch OSX 10.4.3 in itunes 6.0.1.??? I allready caled the aplle care support and tried some testing no results , I went to the aplle center and tested on their Imac isight G5 1G ram 20inch same speed as mine. Do i have a SUPER emac or is the new imac just slower???

Hi SJP. The DL superdrive in the iMac G5 iSight reads CD's at 24x.
The single layer superdrive in the eMacs read CD's at 32x.
THis seems to be the price we pay for having a dual layer slot loading drive.
If its any consolation the iMac superdrive WRITES at 24x, though, whereas the eMac superdrive only wrote at 16x (or, at least, this was the case with the last model that I could find specs for).
When I bought my Pb12 a couple of years back, one of the reasons that I opted for a combo drive over a superdrive for an internal burner was its far better performance with CD's. I think a case can still be made for getting an external FW burner for frequent use with Superdrive equipt iMacs and the like. They are usually significantly faster for both CD and DVD work.

  • Cable speed slow on MacBook

I bought a Time Capsule in March and all worked well at first. I was streaming from iTunes lib on Time Capsule (TC) to my MacBook and on to a 802.11g AP Express via AirTunes. No problems for a month or so.
Then streaming became very inconsistent. Opening/transferring files from TC became unbearably slow (eg: estimating 248 hours for 48 MB! When I first put my library onto TC 48GB went across wirelessly in about 5 hours which seems reasonable.) Now streaming stereo audio or video works but only just - it often cuts out mid-song.
However, my internet cable speed is slower on my MacBook than on my Mac mini. I have 2MB broadband but the speed tester consistently shows only 500k on the MacBook and the expected 2GB on the mini.
Any ideas? I've heard that 10.5.3 will address a lot of Airport issues but I'm still waiting for it. Anyone know when it'll be out?
    Thanks

if you use the iplate you must have extension sockets in your homeso have you tried removing the bellwire on terminal 3 from all sockets and see if that helps - you can then stop using iplate

  • Dropping Wireless Connection & Speed Slowing Down

    Hi,
Up until a week ago I had two BT lines, I will call them line 1 and line 2.  Line 1 (front room) was used purely for phone calls, and line 2 (middle room) had Broadband activated on it. When it came time to renew the yearly line rental I checked and had it confirmed by BT that the available Broadband speed was faster on line 1, so I decided to cancel line 2, and move my Home Hub 4 into room 1 having arranged to activate Broadband on what in theory should be a line that gives a better speed.
My current problem is two-fold. Firstly I am not yet getting the line speed that I was expecting. I have spoken to the Technical Help Line, and understand that following the activation of Broadband on the line in Room 1 I should wait 10 days for the available speed to stabalise. Currently I am 7 days on from line activation.
A few days ago I was getting download speeds around 2.70 Mbps, with upload speeds around 0.38 Mbps. The IP profile for the download speed at that time was set at 2.77 Mbps. The IP profile for the upload speed was set at 0.45 Mbps. Over the past week I have done numerous speed checks and found that the speed did vary, as might be expected, but was generally always around these figures. Because of the line check speeds I was given by BT's own staff I was expecting the available speed to get better, not slow down! I was originally advised to expect line speeds of between 3.5 Mbps - 5.5 Mbps.
Over the last 24 - 36 hours the speed has slowed down, and a few minutes ago these are the figures I observed:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1.3 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.8 Mbps-2 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 1.33 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.34Mbps
    Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.45 Mbps
Line speed then is one issue, but there is another.
My second, presently very frustrating problem is that even though the Hub 4 is consistently powered, and maintains a steady Blue light showing that Broadband is available, my wireless connection that I receive from the Hub keeps dropping. I should add that the distance from the Hub 4 in Room 1 to where I work with my laptop in Room 2 is only about 15 - 20 feet. I used the old Hub 2 until a few weeks ago, and neither my daughter on her laptop, or myself, had any problems with 'dropping' the wireless signal, whichever room we were in, or even if we used our respective laptops elsewhere in the house. I was convinced enough by the publicity 'blurb' to believe that Hub 4 was more reliable, with fewer drop-outs. So far this has not proven to be the case.
I know that I need to wait a few days more till the 10 days are up, but would really appreciate some kind soul commenting on the above. I have looked at the Logs, but without knowing what segment would be helpful in aiding a diagnosis of my two issues I didn't want to provide unnecessary information. So if any particular element of the Logs would be useful, please let me know.
    Yours in hope,
    Alan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello again,
With your help I was able to locate the place to change the channel manually, which I did, thanks for that. It only resulted in a marginal improvement, but any improvement is good I guess.
HH4 has now been showing a steady connection for three + days, so, as requested, here are the noise stats:
    16:14:16, 26 Nov.    ( 76.170000) DSL noise margin: 22.00 dB upstream, 12.20 dB downstream
    16:14:16, 26 Nov.    ( 76.080000) DSL line rate: 448 Kbps upstream, 3104 Kbps downstream
I have done several speed tests and they all show broadly similar results, namely that my download speed is usually around 2.67, whereas my IP Profile is set at 2.74.
I don't know whether this is worth mentioning but I only have an old style BT socket on my line, not one that has a test socket inside, so I can't do any of the tests using that facility.
Although my broadband connection has been stable and active on the HH4, as far as using wireless to connect my laptop in another room I do still get several dropped connections each day.
Even when I am connected to my HH4 by wireless, and my signal, as now, is only in the four bar bracket, by looking at the other Networks that are active in my street/area I can see, although it is rightly secured, that someone is using a HH3 and the signal on that is powerful enough to register a full five bar (excellent) strength on my laptop. How near or far away from me that user with a HH3 is I do not know, the point is however I can receive a more powerful and consistent signal from their Hub than my own. I must confess to being puzzled by that. What could be the reason?
Is there any further help or guidance that you can give that might assist in raising my IP profile, in the hope that my speed might increase? Or do you have any further suggestions as to how I might reduce the noise on my line to a more acceptable amount, so that my signal might give me a better wireless connection?
Thanks again for any advice or help you are able to give.
    Regards,
    Alan

Looks and sounds like the usual case of congestion during prime time hours. Have you tried asking Verizon to change the circuit or edge router your DSL line connects to, in order to solve the problem? Often times there seems to be an imbalance in how circuits are loaded on Verizon's DSL network. It's a rather typical experience for a shared medium (such as DSL, Cable) but steps can be taken to try and balance off load periodically. Verizon should have some free circuits available that will allow you to reach your speeds during the night time hours.
