My 27 in iMac mid 2011 will start making a beeping sound, like a stuck keyboard key. It will start up for no reason and it will stop if I hit the keyboard, only to start again. Any idea how if stop this?

My iMac will start beeping like a stuck key. It started this after updating to mountain lion. and after I updated memory to 20 gigs (2x 8gigs, 2x 2gigs)
I have a seagate thunderbolt back up drive attached.
The beeping starts at random times even when the computer ( and me too) are sleeping.

Running Firefox with addons disabled is no solution. The addons are the only reason I use Firefox! Please fix this before Google completely takes over my desktop!

That happened to my brother earlier. He went into Facebooand then into another app and the same thing happened. he ended up having to restore it. Mine stayed with the Apple logo for a bit but its back to normal after pressing the buttons a million times. I hope you get your problem sorted. Goodluck!

Ever since I upgraded to to OS 10.6, my Mail application fails to indicate the number of new messages. Any ideas how to fix this? It does, indicate how many new messages arrive on my comcast email account. It only fails to indicate the number of new emails arriving in my @mac.com account. Strangely enough, my devices--iPad and iPhone--indicate the number of new emails arriving in both accounts.

Something has happened during boot up with my video display. It starts out smaller than usual then does something crazy across the screen before correcting itself. Any idea how to correct this?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.

It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. That sounds like a compatibility issue with an add-on that you have installed, as reported by a number of users in both Firefox 22 and Firefox 23 over the last couple of months. If you would provide a listing of your installed extensions ''(as you were prompted to do when creating this thread)'' maybe one of us can advise you which extension is the mot likely culprit. You will need to re-install Firefox 23 to do further diagnostic testing.

You will need to uninstall, run the Cleaner tool and reinstall you adobe applications. Adobe apps don't take kindly to inplace updates of the OS on Macs.
