can apple gimme a file with all my music on it?
That's a good one.
It is up to the end user to maintain backups of their media and other important data.
If you have failed to do that, you may be out of luck.
If you are in the US and all the media was purchased from iTunes, use iCloud to redownload the content.
Downloading past purchases from iTunes store.
Once they have been re-downloaded, MAKE A BACKUP!

My old computer crashed and I had several redeemed movies on it. Is there any way to get them on to my new computer?
Unless you have a backup copy or can use the drive from the old computer in an external enclosure, no.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; only apps, books (not audiobooks), music, and t.v. shows (not movies). Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid. Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases. -
I did a system retsore to restore to a date 2 weeks ago. I have had firefox for 2 years on this computer. Since I did the restore firefox will nolonger open. I know i can download it again - but will have lost all my bookmarks etc. is there a way to get it all back?
Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) is an old version of Linux from 2009. You're gonna need to upgrade to a newer operating system to use a more recent version of Firefox.
My advice is to consult with the Ubuntu support forums to find out if your PC can support the latest version of Ubuntu, or if you should switch to a different "flavor" of Linux.

I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?
Have you not got a backup of your content on, for example, external drives ? If not then you could have a look to see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work : https://discussions.apple.com/message/11014893?messageID=11014893#11014893

my tech service deleted thunderbird because we don't support it, but I still prefer it AND it had ALL of my addresses on it. Is there any way to get it back?
Thunderbird consists of a program (installed under Program Files) and your data, which you can find in your profile folder (explained [[Profiles TB|here]].
As long as you still have your profile data, it'll be back once you reinstall Thunderbird.
You could even run Thunderbird off a USB thumb drive if you prefer. -

Restore it from your most recent backup or from the computer Calendar app you sync your iPhone with via iTunes.

After the most recent software update my phone was restored to the factory settings and all of my photos were lost.... Is there any way to get them back??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Photos are meant to be uploaded to your computer for archival and storage. Certainly before doing something as major as a software update, you've done this, correct? In this case, your photos should be residing safely on your computer and you can just synch them back.

Please Help! Somehow I have managed to mess up my password and now I am locked out of my Ipod. Is there a way back in without losing all my photos?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

My Ipod touch is set to manually manage music. I have put music from my computer and iTunes account onto it, and music from other people's computer and iTunes accounts on it. Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. Hopefully that makes sense. I'd just really really like to be able to keep all that music and not lose 2/3 of my iPod touch music library because I want to put it on a newer Ipod.

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?
If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

I need to transfer up to two hundred Pages and Keynote files from my macbook running on Mac OS X 10.6.8 to my PC running windows. Is there any way I can convert all of the files to word-friendly documents as a batch change or will I have to open each individual file and re-save it as a word-friendly file?

My ex-boyfriend stole my email address and credit card information to make purchases with Apple and now my Apple ID has a balance. Is there any way I can retract the purchases so I don't have to pay for his theft? I had no idea he had done this until I tried to sign in to the ITunes store and found all his information and a whole bunch of song purchases. I had to go to my email and reset everything. I only have a 2.10 balance due to him, but I just want to find out if there is a way to erase it because of this circumstance.
You need to immediately pull credit reports to see what else he has done. Then "freeze" the credit report at all three agencies. That way even you need to lift the freeze to add credit cards or other credit items to your SSN.

I have multiple macs in the house is there any way to get them all to sync
Hi, I have 4 macs in my house and I was wandering whether there is a way to get them all to sync for all aspects; settings, software, iTunes. Everything. Does this involve getting a hard drive or server which they all run-off, if so (or even if this is not the case) what solutions are there and how much do they cost?
Thank youI use MobileMe to keep contacts, settings, calenders, bookmarks, and keychains in sync and Dropbox to keep my documents folder and 1password in sync.

Recently when I open my Mac the screen stays black until I press the start button a few times. Usually at this point it's in sleep mode. This time, however, the computer restarted completely, losing any word documents that I had left open prior. Is there any way I can recover these files without a purchase of a data recovery software? I've tried looking in the 'recent' tab, but it didn't save anything I have done in the last week, and finals are this coming week. Please help!
If the system just Restarted on it's own, Shut down while you were working on something then started back up all those changes, edits, you had done in that app, document, are gone.
