Thanks - I didn't realize there were separate validation servers. I've continued to try - 3 more failures - I will keep trying. The download worked in a timely manner so I thought I was "over the hump" :-)

my software update fails every time I attempt to update. I have restarted the device, selected software update but when it get to the end of "preparing software update", it fails and says the update was not successful. any ideas?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore. -

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) and my software update won't work
I click software update and it checks if I have an update and it says I do. Then, I click "install and restart" then these multiple screens pop up asking if I want to install these certain updates and I click install for each one. Then my computer starts to restart and my screen never turns black, it turns to blue then my log in screen comes up. I log in and then that's that. nothing installs and then when I check for a software update again, the same thing pops up. HELP!
Have you updated your OS to include the 10.6.8 Combo update along with the software updates since.
You may need to apply the Combo updater. Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 and follow with a software update to pick up any later changes.. -
iMac slowed down, PowerPoint and word wouldn't work, I tried to switch users then shut it down and now it is frozen with a white screen. Help please!
From the way you are describing it, it sounds like the HD has failed. Please look over Gray screen appears during startup for troubleshooting steps. You can also run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, it may take 2-3 passes for any error codes to appear and each pass takes approximately 30-60 minutes. However either way you should plan on taking it into an Apple Store or AASP for service.

Um, this makes no sense. The binary is already on the device, it came directly from Apple so I'm not sure where the hold up is. I guess it depends on what is exactly "Verifying update ..." is. I always believed it was about checking to ensure the binary was proper; not sure why it has to call back to Apple servers in that case.
It's super annoying. Apple really needs to fix this problem. Especially when one has to leave and needs to take their devices with them...
Last time this happened, all I had to do was connect to iTunes and the issue cleared out immediately and updated. -

Each step involved in updating to/installing iOS7 requires communication with Apple Servers. They are currently being accessed by millions. Please be patient and just keep trying. Or wait till the traffic on them has dropped.

I just restored my computer to the beginning and I did backup my files but when i tried to restore them i wouldn't work, then I tried to do it manually and the was an error. I really want my itunes files that I downloaded back can i redownload them?
If you are in the US then yes, you should be able to re-download them, as long as they are still in the store and you use the same iTunes account as your originally used to buy them : re-downloading
If you are not in the US then they cannot currently be re-downloaded. Have you not got a different backup of your purchases that you could try copying them back from ? -
After downloading the new lion os x 10.7.2 with cloud and lion recovery update my internet doesnt work. I have tried 2 different networks that work for other people but not me. help?
Logic's preference files may have become corrupted:
1. Quit Logic Pro
2. In the Finder, press and hold down the "option" key then select "Library" from the "Go" menu
3. Open the "Preferences" folder
4. Drag the following files to the Trash:
- com.apple.logic.pro.cs
- com.apple.logic.pro.LSSharedFileList.plist
- com.apple.logic.pro.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
- com.apple.logic.pro.plist
- com.apple.logic.pro.plist.lockfile
These files will be re-created when Logic is next opened. -
Sync from iPhone to iCal on MacBook has failed since the latest iPhone upgrade, yesterday. It's worked in reverse, and all other sync operations appear to have worked. Any solutions, that I may not have already tried (over and over)
(Sorry, first time user of these forums, and it's confusing in it's own right)You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

A box appears around the apps I am trying to click on and I can't scroll. I have to click many times for the app to work.
Sounds like you have VoiceOver (one of the accessibility features) 'on' - if you turn the volume up do you get a voice saying what you are tapping ? If you do then try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.
If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064 -
I connected my iPad and iPhone to sync just now and got the message, "The iTunes Library cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54)." What does this mean? I clicked "OK" and the sync appears to have worked properly. Thanks - dalebird (MacBook Pro, g4 17in)

In iphoto 6.06 I make the red eye changes, it appears to have worked, but when I open the pic again the red eye is back.Advice?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
