My Flash .swf nestled under my CSS, .swf links not working

I added some links in actionscript in my swf file and they work great but once inserted into my Dreamweaver file under my CSS the links are not responding. I know that I had to set up the CSS so that the .swf would fit into a desired shape but is there a way to have the links work above the CSS while still looking the way it does?

Hello Scott,
I'll try it once more, 'cause I want to understand AND learn. I used your swf file in my new testside:
http://dala-laegret1963.de/FlaSwfGrizz.php
and linked it, as you can see if you move with your cursor over the swf file. You will see the description:
"Grizzly_Graphics.swf with link to http://www.grizzlyutah.com/Grizzly_Graphics_Test/products_trade_show_graphics.html".
When you now click into your swf file "Grizzly_Graphics.swf" you will be conducted to your
http://www.grizzlyutah.com/Grizzly_Graphics_Test/products_trade_show_graphics.html.
My other two buttons - which can be integrated into a website - I've left in their function as an example, if you/one needs more links.

  • CSS a:link not working in browser

    Hello all,
    Every time I have tied to add the a:link pseudo class to a
    page, it affects the links in design view correctly (according to
    the style I've applied to the a:link) but it never shows up when I
    preview in Firefox or IE. This happens regardless of whether the
    a:link is in a document specific CSS file or external. My a:hover
    styles work fine. Seems like I'm missing something basic.
    Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Scott

    Without seeing the page in question, what's the a:visited
    style like? And
    make sure you declare them in the order: link, visited,
    hover, active. You
    might be seeing the visited style color when you're looking
    at the page in
    the browser.

  • Swf url links not working on local files

    Tearing my hair out on this one. I have simple swf files with
    links to html pages in the same directory - they work fine on the
    internet, but not when they're local. I'm on a mac osx 10.4.11
    FireFox and Safri. Flash pro cs3. I need the links to work on the
    web & CD. I've updated flash player ... etc...
    thanks in advance for any clues!
    Dave

    Hi Per,
    Wamp server's default site folder is www.  For best results, you should move your Local Site folder to www inside your wamp server.  That way, when you save changes locally they are automatically saved to your local testing server.
    Click on screenshots below:
    Spaces in file and folder names are never a good idea because they get converted to %20 characters which can lead to path problems.

  • Flash Global Security & Links Not Working?

    Hi all,
    I am absolutely near some sort of breakdown with my Flash website....I really hope someone can help!
    I am building my portfolio website; I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 (on Mac) and inserting Flash animations in the centre of a table in each Dreamweaver page. All was working fine until I built the Contact page animation on Flash last night. I linked in some external websites to my Blog, Flickr and Twitter and also need a button to launch the user's default mail client.
    When I tested the animation (CMD+ENTR) in Flash the links appeared to be working, if after a few clicks. I then inserted the Contact animation into the Contact.html page on Dreamweaver and tested it in Safari. A dialogue box came up regarding something about security settings and Flash 8 (makes no sense as I am using Flash 9); and I ended up on the Global Security Setttings panel page on the Adobe website. I selected the entire folder the website is in on my hard drive under "Trust Files in these Locations". Now the ENTIRE website's flash animations are not working. There are links to internal pages of the site (i.e. a link to the "Contact" page in the animaiton on the Home page) which are now not working either. No error messages come up when I test the movie in CS3 either. I have refreshed Safari, restarted the Mac and redone the folder on the Global Security Settings panel. Also loaded the entire website onto a PC this morning, all links not working either.
    Actionscript 3 on the Contact page looks like this:
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    //---Blog Button---\\
    var getBlog: URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.myblogsdomain.com");
    Blg_Btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, eClick);
    function eClick(event:MouseEvent):void{
    navigateToURL(getBlog, "_self");
    //---Twitter Button---\\
    var getTwitter: URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.twitter.com/mydomain");
    Twt_Btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, eClick1);
    function eClick1(event:MouseEvent):void{
    navigateToURL(getTwitter, "_self");
    //---Flickr Button---\\
    var getFlickr: URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.flickr.com/photos/mydomain");
    Flkr_Btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, eClick2);
    function eClick2(event:MouseEvent):void{
    navigateToURL(getFlickr, "_self");
    //---Email Button---\\
    var getMail: URLRequest = new URLRequest("mailto:[email protected]");
    Eml_Btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, eClick3);
    function eClick3(event:MouseEvent):void{
    navigateToURL(getMail, "_self");
    I'm not 100% sure if the e-mail AS3 I set up is correct, but as none of the links are working I can't test it. I cannot provide a link to the website as it isn't uploaded yet, and I don't really want to upload it not working properly.
    Any help at all would be gratefully received, I'm really, really on the brink of some sort of breakdown. Thanks.

    Thanks Samuel.Wong and Ned Murphy for the information.
    I'm not actually sure what happened but my website suddenly started working again today, I think possibly by selecting "Always Allow" on the Global Security Page as well as inserting every individual file as well as the folder under "Trusted Locations" has also done the trick.
    The external links appear to work when I test the movie in Flash CS3, but the same warning comes up once the movie is inserted into a Dreamweaver html page and tested in Safari. However I think when the links (all except the email ) appear to be working in Flash then it should be just fine once uploaded onto the server. Many thanks for your advice once again.

  • Substitution written under cost center accounting is not working for tcode MB1B but working for MIGO_GI

    Hi All
    Do you know why this behaviour different for subtitution written under cost center accounting.
    We have written substitution using coding block table. Logic of substitution is in case of any GL maintained in a set is being used for posting , then we will replace the cost center with profit center vlaue. Reason being we have same naming convention for Cost center and Profit center.
    Thanks
    Sonia

    Hi,
    MB1B is t-code for stock transfer posting.
    Stock transfer posting generate FI document using balance sheet account, not P&L account.
    Because you don’t create cost elements using balance sheet accounts related to stock, I think that Substitution written under cost center accounting is not working for tcode MB1B is right.

  • Firefox ESR 10.0.12 disables flash plugin - updates to the last version do not work?

    Suddenly - without any actions by me - FF ESR 10.0.12 refuses to accept Adobe Flash? (System Win 7 64 Ultimate)
    It started with a very annoying bar, which cost me 2 hours to deactivate, which told me to update an very old and unused Adobe Reader plugin. Then it insisted, that the Foxit PDF reader plugin was not up to date. Since I do not use it, I deactivated it too. Since I seldom use Flash, I just found out today, that youtube does not work anymore - FF insists, that my flash plugin is too old and it deactivated it.
    This has cost me hours up to now and it is _exactly_ the reason why I use the ESR channel.
    What I did:
    Deinstalled Adobe Flash completely (using Windows). Used the normal Firefox update, which it recommends (your flash player was deactivated, please install...). No success, it simply goes into a loop, always telling me my flash player is too old.
    I also installed it directly from Adobe (the Firefox version!!), in all cases it reports version 11.5.502.104. The last version from Adobe - but it seems to be too old???
    I am spitting angry now - this kind of trouble is the reason I only use ESR versions from Mozilla. I do not want your chaos troupe to play around with _my_ installation. But obviously you found ways to do so.
    If this is not solved (and no, I will _not_ reinstall Firefox, I will _not_ delete my profile) in a few days, Firefox is dead for me. I am already looking to Chrome and Opera. Many friends have these browsers - I am a bit conservative, and I want my browser stable and the look an feel should be stable also. I do _not_ want a new version every two weeks, which every time costs my effort and time to configure it how I want it.
    The question here is: How did you manage to disable the last version of Flash, and why? Why must I now register here and invest valuable time to get my browser to work again?? If I had done something, installed or removed something, ok. But I did not. (And yes, up to now I did update Flash and other plugins, when I was prompted to do so)
    Clearly _your_ management does _not_ work: If I use the solutions which FF itself recommends, it sends me in an endless loop: Install newest Flash, sorry, Flash is outdated, install newest Flash...
    Is this the 'new security'? Bah. If you did this for the 'normal user' (which you obviously do not respect anymore), you failed. And you failed completely for me: If software insists to do things 'automatically', it should at least do them reliably, _or_ it should ask. But working in the background, changing important things, reporting nothing, and then failing is exactly the reason why I disable all 'automatic' activities and want to be _asked_ before some idiotic piece of c.... deconfigures itself - and stops working...
    Hints to the Troubleshooting Info below:
    At this time Flash player is installed, shows in the systems software list as 'Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin', Version 11.5.502.146. The rest are my normal plugins. Serveral changes to about:config were done by me in an effort to make FF usable again, without nagging 'info' bars...

    Additional information - according to the wiki you pointed me to, it was correct to uninstall flash using Windows control panel. I am very sure that I already had the latest version installed from the beginning, because Flash player pointed me to an update on Windows start (as usual) several days ago.
    The error clearly lies with FF, since despite an up to date Flash player it decided it wants it new - something to do with the blacklist? How can it tell, that its outdated, if it does not find it and not show it in the list of plugins?
    There is something fishy here...

  • Installing Flash Player 11.8.800.94 via GPO not working properly

    Hello,
    i've installed Flash Player 11.8.800.94 via GPO.
    Installation works fine, but there is no flash player available in Firefox or Internet Explorer.
    Deployed both Flash Players.
    Tried to reinstall Flash Player 11.8.800.94 for Firefox, but it's still not active.
    Windows 7, 64bit
    Greetings,
    Michael

    Hello Comvel.
    RE:
    Hello,
    i haven't fixed it yet.
    I've deployed the last few version of flash player without any problems.
    I haven't found any new things in the admin guide.
    The plugins don't show up in both browsers. I can't enable them.
    On the most importent clients, i've installed flash player manually.
    I know it has been a few months since your post but, I was wonderingif you were able to find a solution for this that didn't involve manual installations. I've recently deployed 11.8.800.175 and am running into the same problems. Some work stations are just fine. But others, (both windows 7 and xp, all IE8) are not working. When navigating to a site like youtube, theres a banner that says update is needed. When you go to manage add-ons there is no shock object/add on.

  • Flash Album Exporter in iFrame problem. Greybox not working as expected

    Hello all,
    I've searched and I can't find the solution or any info on the problem elsewhere.
    I've used Flash Album Exporter for the grey box effect. This appears perfectly here
    http://web.me.com/james.veitch/BoxReviews.index.html
    However, it's aligned to the left hand side; I can't get it to centre and there's more text I want to put on. So I thought I'd put it in an iFrame. The moment I do that, things go wrong. Here
    http://web.me.com/james.veitch/KeatsinHampstead/Home2.html
    For some reason it won't load the images. What am I doing wrong? Also, is there any way to change the thumbnail images?
    Thanks in advance,
    James.

    James:
    First, I can't get your first link to work. Removing the ".index.html" from the link does get the flash to load and play.
    For some reason that particular flash presentation won't work in an iFrame/HTML snippet. Have you tried using a different FAE theme to see if you can get it to work in the iFrame. I've been able to get several to work in my demo sites: SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter and Flash Album Exporter Postcard and AutoViewer Slideshow Themes.

  • Flash links not working

    I had integrated a flash menu into my site but now the links
    aren't working. It was working earlier, so I am wondering if there
    is something in my code that could be conflicting with it. It's the
    top menu -
    http://www.kayzoesolutions.com/kayzoeaugust/index.html
    Thanks

    Very strange, but it isn't working on my computer, and then
    my graphic designer who has been working on the site a lot said it
    is now all of a sudden not working for her. Any thoughts on this.
    Eveyone that views for the first time says it works. Here is the
    code:
    on (release, releaseOutside) {

  • Flash header in iWeb - Links not working

    Here's the situation: I managed to get a flash header to show up on my  site by using an HTML Snippet. There are three buttons in this flash  file. Each of them open up drop-down menus with links to different pages  found on the site.
    Currently, when I load up the site in my browser, only the drop-down  menus open and do what they're supposed to. The links within those menus  do NOT work.
    The question: How do I properly create links in Flash so that they'll  navigate to the urls I specify? Any help would be greatly appreciated;  I'm kinda in a rut until I figure this out. Thanks!

    The most obvious thing to do is to ask Flash question is the Flash forum :
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash
    Or search the Internets : [links in flash|http://www.google.com/search?q=linksinflash]

  • Why does CSS' "@font-face" not work in FF8.0?

    I am using embedded fonts via CSS' @font-face, which works perfectly in IE9, Safari 5.1.1 and Opera 11.52. However it does not work in FF8.0 (or Chrome 15.0.874.121) and falls back to Verdana.
    Here is my CSS:
    body,td,th {
    font-family: DragonwyckFont, Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;
    @font-face {
    font-family: "DragonwyckFont";
    src: url("../fonts/Dragonwyck_Normal.eot");
    src: url("../fonts/Dragonwyck_Normal.eot?#iefix") format('embedded-opentype'),
    url("../fonts/Dragonwyck_Normal.ttf") format('truetype');
    This is being tested on a W7 box, using localhost: on IIS.
    Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Thankyou in advance.

    Hi cor-el,
    Thanks for your very quick reply, unfortunately the solutions you offered have been unsuccessful.
    I did as you suggested (including deleting the relative path and placing the fonts in the same directory as the CSS) and followed all the advice given in the references you made.
    I am not going across domains so Access Control Headers are not required.
    Bizarrely, the link from the demo (https://developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS/@font-face) works perfectly but, when I replicate it using the full path to Dragonwyck_Normal.ttf, it doesn't.
    My little brain is starting to fry and I must be doing something completely daft but, with just half a dozen lines of code, I fail to see how it could be more simple!
    CSS:
    body,td,th { font-family: "Dragonwyck", serif; }
    @font-face {
    font-family: "Dragonwyck";
    src: url("Dragonwyck_Normal.ttf");
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Chaindrive.

  • Link not working properly in flash banner

    Hi,
    We have a Flash banner on the home page and each slide has a link to some other page. Everything works fine, exept in IE.
    Basically what happens is that if you click on the banner the first time, the link will work fine and bring you to the new page. However, if you go back to the home page again, then the banner does not even present a link anymore (it will still work fine as far as the banner rotation is concerned - just no more links)...
    Any advice?
    Here is the site:
    www.jamesbeard.org
    Thanks in advance,
    biorn

    the banner slideshow works fine - it is the link from the banner that only works once. when you go to the site for the first time, and click on one of the banners of the slide slow it will have a link and the link will work fine. if you then try to hover over any of the banners in the slideshow again - you will see that no links are there anymore.
