My home button does not respond most of the time. Is this a hardware failure?
I've had quite a bit of difficulty with getting my home button to respond. Sometimes, the only way to get back to the home screen is to do a hard reset. I constantly close any open apps, thinking that this might be the problem (memory issue).
Hoping you can help!
Thanks!

You can also go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn on Assistive Touch It adds the Home button to the iPod's screen.
Yes, if you get it fixes, the iPod will likely be erased. Apple will not repair your old iPod, they exchange it for a refurbished one and do not transfer data. -
one week since i got the iphone 5: screen blacks out, when i finally get it to light up the light brightness turns low.
problems charging phone, just doesnt want to charge unless i reset the phone.
the main home button does not respond at times, approx 3-5 times a day this occurs
phones touch screen does not respond at times...whole touch screen, no response!
signal always drops out, this could be a network issue though i doubt it.
speaking to quite a few peopl i know, they are havng the same issues with there 5 but not as often as myself.
if i knew the 5 had so many issues i would not have chosen it, the 4s was fine! Then take it back! If you've only had it for a week, you still have 51 weeks of warranty. If you are in the USA, you are also within your 14 day unconditional return for full refund period. If it has that many problems, just return it and get another one, or get your money back and buy something else. There is no reason to live with a faulty device after just one week.

I just received a new iPad 3. The home button does not respond. Any ideas?
return it to have it checked for malfunction. Might be a transport defect . ( Although I never heard of such a severe case on brandnew Apple Hardware )

Iphone 4 home button does not respond, resetting fails to resolve issue
the home button does not respond. i tried putting phone to sleep and waking up with home button (which worked, but then the home button does not return the screen to home page), a hard reboot with the home and power buttons, and finally a reset to factory settings and then synching again to my computer. the problem persists.
Bring it in for replacement.

Re: Satellite Pro A300 - DVD drawer does not open most of the time
I have a Satellite Pro A300-1NH laptop. The DVD drawer does not open most of the time. Occasionally it does, but most of the time it does not.
Sometimes if I manage to get a DVD/CD into the drawer to burn something to, the burn works.
Most of the time the computer does not recognise that there is a disc there, and then I can't open the drawer again to get it out.
Can anyone tell a novice what I need to do to sort this out please?Have you noticed this when you try to open drawer using eject button in the drawer itself?
Almost every player has integrated eject button. Can the drawer be opened using this eject button? -
The home button does not respond. Help
My iPhone 4's home button does not always respond. Sometimes I will have to turn it off and on. I have tried doing a restart. It will be ok for a few hours but then will not respond again.
Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing was lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Has anyone had a similar problem where the phone will not shut off and the home button does not respond
You should try taking it to the Apple Store and asking for a replacement.
Or you could enable Assistive Touch from Settings>General>Accessibility. -

my iphone 4 home button is not working anymore. I have to turn the phone off and on again to access an app. When turning it on it immediately goes to voice control. I cannot get out of this. I have checked and updated the software and finally reset the phone. All this has left me with the same problem. Any ideas???
Voice Over Fix
Settings > General > Accessibility > Voice Over > Off
Or,
Press the Home Button 3 Times
Now...
Reset your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release the buttons...
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

Home button does not bring me to the home screen
I bought an iPod Touch 16GB in the beginning of june. It was a gift, and has not been in use until yesterday. The home button is totally unresponsive. Pushing the home button will not give any respons at all. Whenever I launch an app, I'm stuck there, until I shut the device off or reset it.
We felt this might be a softwareproblem. The software was upgraded to 3.1.2
The iPod is fully charged. I have done a restart and a reset several times. All of the content on the iPod (music was the only thing put into it, no apps) is removed. I have reset all settings and the software is restored several times using the restore button in iTunes.
I can do a "hard reset" (holding down the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time for 10 sec will give me the expected respons). So it seems the home button hardware is working.
I still believe this is some sort of software error. I have done everything suggested by Apple to sort out the problem, but nada!
This is a brand new iPod, it has never been used and I obviously will take it to the store and I am sure it will be fixed or replaced.
BUT: Does anyone have any suggestions, in case there are something I should have tried out first? One more thing before you take it back to the store - try a restore. You will do this from within iTunes. Since you really don't have app data to concern yourself with, do a "restore as new". This will wipe it clean and reinstall the firmware. You can then sync to add everything back to it.

I have changed my homepage by going into options and by dragging to the home button. When I click on my "home" button (the little house under the word "bookmarks", nothing happens. It just started doing this recently.
Sounds hardware-related. A restore would confirm it.
