My ipad 2 was kidnapped by israeli border control

When leaving Tel Aviv last night, the border security took my ipad 2, demanded my code for it, and took it to another room for 10 minutes. I was offered no explanation except "for security reason". This ipad is sometimes used to present detailed offer to clients, where both the offer itself is secret, and the technology detailed within could, if leaked to competitors, severely hamper our business.
I make a point of always deleting the presentation once I'm done in a meeting in case I loose it, so there was no presentations on it when they had it, so in that regard I feel pretty safe. I am however somewhat worried that they may have installed a rootkit or similar on my device, so now I am reluctant to use it or even put new presentations on it.
The whole process was just fishy enough to have me worried. Why wasn't I allowed to follow my device and why did they need my unlock code? I probably could have demanded to follow my device or refused to give them the code, but one feel somewhat compelled with 10 openly armed officers with-in hearing distance and another 100 with line-of-sight. :-)
Now, I am sure the Israeli customs doesn't care one bit about battery charging technology, but I care about personal and company integrity.
Is there *any way* at all to detect if they did something fishy to my device? Am I just being paranoid or should I burn the device in a fire and get myself a new one? :-)

If you are suspicious you can go into "Setting -> General -> Reset" and select to "Erase All Content and Settings", then at your first convenience, connect the iPad to a computer and tell it to "Restore" the iOS which should download a new copy of the OS fresh from Apple, flash the device, and then restore from your last known "safe" backup.  Unless they modified the hardware, this will remove any chance of them having left any software spies in your iPad.
