My iPhone 4 updated to iOS 5.0.1 but was interrupted in first attempt, when now connecting to iTunes (windows PC) the phone just constantly wants to restore and once it has done just goes back to that page rather than the summary tabs! Help?!!

Can anyone help? please?

It's not a virus, even if one did exist for iOS, by definition it cannot be a virus. A virus is a back door program that activates malicous code without the users consent or (most times) knowledge at its time of destruction. Also it cannot be a trojan or worm based attack because apps downloaded directly through the app store or synced from your computer all go thru apple before they get to you and would be caught well before you activated it on your device.
No, after several weeks with the phone now it has come unpleasently clear that the problem is memory; not a lack of it, but simply mis-execution there of. Apples backgrounding technique is to run apps in a native or /paused/ state while not in use, however, it seems (actually can be proven with a simple diagnostic app) that the error is in the OS not fully pruging /native/ apps from memory. Thus when it (quickly) fills up, your device acts in a way similar to a kernal panic (see above post) and SpringBoard crashes.
As I really didn't see muchn of a problem with this in 4.x I'm hoping its just a bug in 5.x and be fixed in 5.1? otherwise, as I said last time things seem to run fairly smooth if you keep the background clear and hard reboot (to completely free up memory) about once every 3-7 days depending on how much you use the iDevice.
