When I go to a website, I get a menu of the website (a list down the left-hand side of the page) rather than the home page itself. Using internet explorer, I get to the home page. Why not on Firefox? It just started happening recently

I updated firefox a couple weeks ago, but updating has never caused this problem.
I installed a program to help the computer run more efficiently, called "Fix-it Essentials," and that may have caused the problem, though it didn't for the first couple weeks I used it.
So I still can't get to the homepage of many websites and navigate as I want to.

Simple really. The first 3 articles have steps in them, but not in this order.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I opened a PDF file & it was blank saying done, I cannot get into my mail. I can get to the 'mailbox', but it just keeps searching for the email. I have gone thru Comcast & I can pick up my emails all right if I use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla.

Comcast techs told me to try IE, and I could get to my email that way but I can't read emails with Mozilla. This started with the PDF file that just came in blank and wouldn't let me close it.

Are you sure that Firefox gets the plugins from the ~/.mozilla/plugins directory and not from another location.
Did you try to place the symlink in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?

Just upgraded...why can't I see the information section on the left hand side anymore in iphoto '11? I used it all the time.

I've just upgraded from iphoto '08 to iphoto '11 and I'm really missing the information pane on the bottom left hand side (under where events, album, libraries etc are). I have a webservice that I deployed into the standalone OC4J. I then enabled https according to the instructions given in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14429/configssl.htm !
When I'm calling the webservice via Firefox or Opera, everything works well.
But when I'm using Internet Explorer, I get this Exception:
"Exception in NIOServerSocketDriver:selectForRead" (java.nio.channels.ClosedChannelException)
at java.nio.channels.spi.AbstractSelectableChannel.configureBlocking(AbstractSelectableChannel.java:252)
and shortly after it the following:
"Exception in SelectionKey cancel"
(java.lang.NullPointerException)
at oracle.oc4j.network.ServerSocketAcceptHandler$IdleHandlers.closeIdleHandler(ServerSocketAcceptHandler.java:583)
Both Exceptions come randomly and every trial on different program- and timesteps, so there's no real tracing possible!
Can anyone please help me to understand what happens there and how to solve this problem.

Is it possible to set the line's parameters elsewhere or to create such a file and if, where do I have to do so and how do I have to integrate it into the server's "environment" ?

Double submitting the request using Internet Explorer

I have a JSP which is submitting the request using 'onclick' event. It works fine with mozilla but it doble submit the request using Internet Explorer.
Means at the server side, for each request it is creating one thread, but it is creating two threads for the same request at a time when I submit using Internet Explorer.
