My iphone 4s will not play most of my songs. they appear grey in the list with a dotted circle in front of them. how do i fix this?
My Iphone 4s stopped playing a majority of my songs after i tried to sync a cd to my phone through itunes. The songs will open but will not play. They remain at zero. They appear to be grey on the list instead of the usual black font color and they have dotted grey circles in front of them when they are opened in my itunes account under the phone. In the phone's song list they are also grey, with red boxes within a circle behind their titles. In my general itunes music library the songs play perfectly fine. It is only under my phone that i am having issues. can anyone tell me why; or how to correct the problem?
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

It seems your iPhone is slowing down and not responding frequently. To rectify this issue you may want to consider performing a restore on the device, and then restoring your data from a backup via iCloud or iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your backup, you would then want to consider restoring the device and setting it up as new. Below I have linked to article which offers guidance on both of these restore methods:

I just purchased a new iphone 4s and opened itune store and purchased a ringtone. Today I tried to open itune store again and it won't run the app.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings -
When anyone sends me a Word document via email as an attachment and I attempt to print it out, my printer always spits out a blank page. All Word documents seem to arrive using Times New Roman font. I must then return to the document, select all, reassign a different font, and it then prints okay. How can I fix this? It appears that Times New Roman font is part of my Font Book, and each version of the font (Italic, etc.) appears there in duplicate.

Open the Font Book again, select the Times New Roman font set.
You'll see the duplicate warning. Select the fonts and go up to the EDIT menu,
and go down to RESOLVE DUPLICATES.
You might check for other duplicates while you're there, and resolve them.
RESTART your Mac to have the changes take effect.
Then try your docs again.

My iPhone 4S will not play music out loud. I can't turn sound up or down, it doesn't even give me the option. I think that it thinks its docked, I've tried to blow air in it, I've tried compressed air with no luck.
Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, clean again, very well with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

You can replace the back glass or get a case. There are many iPhone repair centers... Google for one. You can also try the Apple store... I've heard they will replace the back for about $30.

Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it??? I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!

Itunes will not play a number of songs in my library as they were purchased a long while ago using an email address and ISP that I no longer use. When I try and play them I get the message "this computer is not authorised to play this song, authorise your computer now". Any ideas?

Hi, My Iphone 4 will not connect to my virgin superhub (netgear). Ive reset network settings with no joy, Reset all the phones settings also no joy. Ive rebooted the hub and none of it works. My ipad has connected to it not problem so doesnt make sense. Ive read that it could possibly be my phones wifi signal reciever may not be strong enough but on my handset it shows as full bars!!! Any ideas would be really appreciated.
ThanksI had this same problem with my new MBP 15", but only with the USB port on the left side. The USB port on the right side worked fine. Perhaps the ports on the left don't have enough signal energy for the iPhone.
Anyway, try using a different USB port, and if that doesn't work, perhaps you could try a powered USB hub. -
Have over 86GB of music now showing as "other" and although it is still on my iPod it is not playable. Most is from imported CDs. I do have a backup file on an external hard drive. How can I fix this?
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.
