My iphone4 won't connect to my wi-fi. I wonder if I bumped any of the settings, such as HTTP Proxy, or router.

I wonder what the proper setting are for: IP Address (DHCP,or BootP, or Static? Mine is set to DHCP. An IP Address shows in the whit box, along with "Subnet Mask". The rest have nothing listed, such as "Router", "DNS", "Search Domains", and "Client ID". Also, Should Hte "HTTP Proxy" be set to Off,Manual or Auto? Also there is nothing listed in the "URL" box. Baffled

I had a similar problem, I couldn't connect to my wifi, and here's some tips (and by the way, empty DHCP info is completly normal):
1.If you have a locked router, check to see you have the right code
2.If you do, completly shut off your iPhone and then turn it back on, try connecting again
3.If that fails, go to Settings->General->Reset and then reset network settings then after your iPhone restarts, try again
4.If even that fails, try this (very few people know this); if your memory is almost full, delete some stuff, make some memory, Wi-Fi requires a reasonable amount of memory to connect for some reason
5.If everything doesn't work, schedule a Genius Bar appointment. There is a good chance that there is something unusually wrong with your iPhone (or unfixable) which is annoying

The last message had some more stuff in between the "Hello" and "Regards" - I have no idea what happened to it. But nevermind...
I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). You are probably running OS 10.4 or 10.5 on a PPC Mac. No version of iTunes higher than 10.6.3 is available for these older Macs. I have the same problem, and while I can still use the PPC to sync my iPod, it can't be used to sync an iPhone 4 or higher. The only solution, as I discovered after upgrading to the iPhone 4, is to buy a newer Mac. I was able to get a 2006 MacBook running Lion for under $300, and that has been a lifesaver.

HT1430 Iphone 4s says disabled connect to itunes and itunes won't connect because phone locked with a passcode. I don't have the passcode to unlock the phone

You can restore the iPhone from backup on the last computer your iPhone synced with, this will allow you to reset the passcode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414. If you do not have access to the last computer the phone synced with, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode & restore as a new device, all data on the phone will be erased http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

On your 5 go to settings - general - reset - reset network settings.
Try to connect again after your phone boots back up.

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to ios6, and now when I connect to itunes it says ,"The iPhone “_____’s iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
My itunes is currently 10.6 (40), and when I check if theres an update it says, "This version of iTunes (10.6) is the current version."
I have a 13" white macbook (I don't think apple sells it anymore). Software: Mac OS X Version 10.5.8.
According to my software update, it is currently up to date ("Software Update doesn’t have any new software for your computer at this time.")
I tried downloading itunes 7, but says I can't ("This software requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later.")
How much would the software update to 10.6.8 cost? And what are the steps to doing it?

Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

IPhone 5 battery discharges VERY quickly; adjusts own brightness; won't connect to wi-fi.

For the past 7 months my phone has been dying faster and faster. I cannot take it anymore. My phone was 100% when I got out of my car, 34% when I got out of my 75-minute class and 11% by time I got to my car (3-minute walk). WHILE IN MY BACKPACK; NOT BEING TOUCHED. I plugged the car charger into my phone and the phone jumps to 54%. After 15 minutes of charging, the phone is 77% charged. By time my 1 hour and 15 minute class is over my phone is at 22%. I unlocked my phone to get to the home screen and I instantly receive the "10% battery remaining" pop-up, I hit OK, and then the 10% drops to 1% right before my eyes. This has been the norm for the past 7 months, so I have to keep an external battery charger on me. This is my second iPhone, my first iPhone was doing the SAME things that this one is doing. It also adjusts its own brightness. I slide it close to being all the way down to save battery. I can lock the phone and unlock it and the brightness is turned all the way up or intermittently moving upwards (to the right) on its own. My phone is constantly on 3G rather than LTE in the same places where I have always had LTE. Wi-fi will be on, but it won't connect to my home network or won't be able to find it although my iPod connects just fine. Sometimes it won't show ANY networks at ALL. I reduced my bill from 10GB to 6GB because I am tired of paying a $200 phone bill and I rarely ever go over 4GB because I always use wi-fi - at home and at school (& I work from home). I have since had to go back to 10 GB to avoid overages because my phone won't connect to wi-fi. My phone does not have any damage to it, just like my last iPhone didn't.
Hard resets and soft resets do not do anything. I prefer not to have to keep getting iPhone 5s.
Any help on solving all of these issues would be great. Thank you.

This is possibly caused by the updates, but some phones had bad batteries.
have you been dealing with Apple directly? You should. Only apple covers your phone..
Last thing you can try.
back up your phone, a full backup to computer is preferred
restore to factory. It is preferred you connect to a computer and use iTunes to restore to factory.
set up as new with iTunes.
Restore your phone from the backup on your computer.
If the problem is not resolved, please make an appointment with Apple.

My Ethernet won't connect online anymore

Just a little while this was working. I am using a school network so I have no control over the router, it's public.
I had to change my MAC address in order to connect and for a couple of months it's been working, even today. I don't know what changed in the settings, though.
Now it won't connect via ethernet and states "Self-assigned IP". When I change the MAC address I do it through Terminal, it has never messed with the Ethernet IP settings, even today. But when I changed the MAC address again the Ethernet changed to "Self-assigned IP" instead of "Connected".
So how can I stop my Ethernet settings from changing by themselves?
Like I said, I always used to change the MAC address and it NEVER interfered with the IP address until now, so how can I fix that?

I'm changing it because I can't connect to the internet through the original mac address.
I'm changing it through terminal using a sudo code which makes the change temporary. It goes back to normal once it's rebooted.
What I'm telling you and what emphasized is that it's been working. I admit I didn't monitor the Ethernet setting before when it was working so I can't tell you what state it was at "Connected" or "Self-assigned IP". So I thought that changing the mac address wouldn't interfere with it. So now when I change the address it won't connect, unlike just an hour ago when it connected fine. So now it won't connect wither before or after I change my mac address.
You see when it is connected to the net, regardless of what the mac address is, it should open up to the school's registration page. That's why a mac address change shouldn't prevent me from seeing that page but now it is.

Safari won't connect to internet

Hi, Safari on Ipad will not connect to my wi-fi. My wi-fi works fine with Galaxy phone and Gateway computer.   I noticed that next to the wi-fi name there is a little swirly thing that keeps spinning like it is trying to update. I have rebooted Ipad several times and also my wi-fi. Help!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

IPhone 4 Won't connect to computer

My iPhone 4 (ATT) running 4.3.2 has been working fine, it charges with the wall charger and cable just fine, then when I take the charger cable and bring it to my computer to update all my apps, I plug it into a USB (direct to computer, not via hub) and the iPhone doesn't show up on the computer, not even just to access my photos it doesn't show up at all.
I've tried restarting my computer twice, restarting the phone twice, using different USB ports but nothing seems to work, my iPhone won't connect to a computer for some reason...
Any suggestions?

I too am experiencing this issue and have had no luck. I've cycled off both PC (windows7) and iPhone, disabling firewalls, and rebooting with device connected. I get a glimmer of hope with rebooting PC with iPhone connected because iPhone starts drawing power upon startup but iPhone still doesn't appear in device manager. If at that point iPhone is disconnected and reconnected it will not even draw power.
PLEASE HELP!!! Dying to upgrade from iOS 4.3.2 to 5!
