My iphone5 will not update software

My iPhone will not update to the iOS 7 and I have no clue why it just say error

No it just said error has happened and it said settings so I clicked that and it went strait back to the update screen

    My iPhone5S will not update to the latest version: 2.5.2. I tried a dozen times to update it, as well as Numbers. Finally, Numbers updated but Pages still wouldn't. What happens is that I click on Update, and it seems to be updating, then when it finishes and I click on Open, it reverts to Update. I checked the version under Settings, and it was still the older version. I was able to access all my Pages documents, but I was annoyed at seeing the Update reminder, so today I deleted Pages from my phone and intended to re-install it. Now when I bring it up and click on Free and then Install, it just goes back to Free..refuses to budge, so now I don't have any of my Pages docs on my phone. I've tried rebooting, doesn't help. I'm running iOS 8.1.2. All those docs are still there in the Cloud, and Pages appears correctly on my MBP and iPad, but I can't seem to update it---or now, even install it---on my phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? This seems so random.

    i would try restoring it or downgrading it and then try it again, if that doesnt work i really dont know.

Did you see on Verizon Wireless site that you had an update for your device? How long ago has it been since you have seen that this update is ready? I'm eager to get to the bottom of this for you ASAP.

    Dont know what is going on. But my phone will not sync playlists from iTunes to my iphone5. I check the the box on what playlist to add, press sync and nothing.

    I only could solve the problem -after reading a number of postings and discussions.....- by
    having made sure to have the latest backup on my MacBook
    than reseting the iPhone 5c to original status
    rebuilding the iPhone by its backup
    syncing everything back on my iPhone
    Now it works out and even the iTunes Radio was shown up which never was shwn before under "Music".
    And all (!!) playlists (intelligent and hand-made) are on the iPhone.

    HI, I got an I Pod Touch Model MC540LL (Dont know what Generation it is), Ive tried several times to update software from 4.3.3 to the new 5.0.1? Is that possible? When I try updating using Itunes, the downloading stops and tells me (server reset) I am trying to restore settings to my I Pod because I lost my Passcode for the restriction function (the Restriction function is stuck on (ON)). I am unable to do this with out updating software. Is there any way to restore my I Pod without updating software?

    Yours is a iPod Touch 4th generation with 8 GB storage. Yes, it's possible to update to 5.0.1. Do you have the latest iTunes 10.5.2? Update iTunes and do a restore.

    I am sure you are eager to upgrade to iOS 7.  If you haven't resolved this issue, I recommend restarting your iPhone and resetting the iPhone if the restart doesn't help:
    You can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    Hello everyone,
    I recently downloaded the following updates for my computer and when I go to restart and install them, the installer that would normally appear over the logins screen is displayed very briefly (less than 1 sec.) with the message "your computer will automatically restart" and then it restarts and does not install the updates.
    AirPort Utilty 5.5.3
    ProKit 7.0
    Canon Printer Software Update 2.6
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
    iTunes 10.3.1
    Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 5 1.0
    iDVD 7.1.1
    I am currently running Mac OSX 1.6.7, if that makes any difference. I am thinking that deleting the update files and re-downloading them would likely fix it, but I don't know where they're located. I am the admin for my computer and I have cleared PRAM, deleted all of the caches, logs, etc. that I thought would maybe make a difference. Help please!

    Not sure what the problem is, but one thing to do is to boot from your install disc and navigate to Disk Utility and repair your boot disk. This is good practice before installing major software updates. Also, be sure to use Disk Utility to repair permissions afterwards.

  • Z30 will not update software to 10.3.1

    I bought two unlocked Z30 handsets via Amazon UK (a month apart). My black hanset updated the software on Feb 19 in the UK without a problem, as did our two- now redundant -  Z10 handsets (both purchased on contract in the UK)
    However my wife's white Z30 handset won't display that the 10.3.1 software update is available and says that the current 10.2 software is the latest. We are both with Tesco Mobile, UK.
    I have just checked the documentation that came in the white Z30 box and it's dual lingual, i.e. Instructions & Guarantee in both English and - it appears - Spanish / Portuguese. A separate note in the box refers to "www.comusuarios.gov.co" which seems to be Colombia. Therefore I assume the phone was made by BlackBerry for the Colombian market and the 10.3 software update has not been released in Colombia, thus preventing the update being available for the handset - even although it was activated and continues to be used in the UK.
    Can anyone confirm if my assumptions are correct and how I "crack" this blocking of the 10.3 update?  Or will I need to wait until the 10.3 update becomes available in Colombia and when will that be?

    Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
    You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)

  • Playbook will not update software

    Hi Just bought the playbook - when it initially started the download everything was fine, but then it says Sorry, there was a problem updating your tablet.  Tap retry or Turn off.  when I say retry it goes through all the software there is to update and the same "sorry" message.
    I can't go any further, it won't update, restarting takes me back to the same thing, I can't get to any other screen, WiFi can't get to see if the wifi is still connected.
    I tried plugging the playbook to my laptop to see if it would help, same thing.
    Any help out there?

    I am underwhelmed by the answers here.  I have tried 5 times now on my home wifi network and it has failed on every attempt.  I expected an alternate option that didn't involve blaming my equipment, but rather provided a different means by which to solve this problem.  Weak.

    When I try to update my iTunes it just goes into a loop.  It says install these three items, then it asks me to agree to the terms then it tkes me straight back to three updates are available.  No error messages just a loop.

    When I plug my iPhone 3GS 4.1 into my iMac (OS 10.4.11), it backs up and transfers everything. Then i click update and it comes up with: This Version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version

    Looking for any suggestions on this. I've tried restarting/restoring options. I've restarted my modem and router. During the update process, it always stalls on part 1 of 2.

    The problem could be the ethernet connection.  Try using the wi-fi connection to your network.  There is a bug in 5.1 that prevents the update from working with certain routers.  The bug is fixed in 5.1.1, so you can go back to the ethernet connection after the update.

    If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

    If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
    Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

    Mac Book Software Update not working (Software Update does not have any new software for your computer at this time), my current MacBook version is 10.5.8.
    As a result I can't update iTunes, version 10.5.2  (This software requiers Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later)
    Now when I connect my iPhone 4, version iOS 6 iTunes can't connect to iPhone (The iPhone "XXXXX's iPhone" cannot be used because it requiers iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.)
    so in a nutshell can't use iphone 4, because iTune is not updated and will not  update because Mac Book is not up to date and will not update either.
