My Ipod classic wont turn off
I cant get it to shutdown the backlight will go off but it wont sleep.
Is it recognized at all in iTunes?
If not, let the battery run down completely. Give it a long time to deplete itself, then connect it again. It sounds as though it may have a hardware fault that you may not be able to fix though.

My Ipod classic wont turn back on
My IPod classic wont turn back on. I dont know why.
Try a Reset.
Turn the Hold switch on, then off again and then press-and-hold the Menu and the Select (centre) buttons together for at least ten seconds. The Apple logo shoudl apapera at soe stage and then the iPod will re-start.
Alternatively, if the iPod's battery is drained, plug it into a power source and leave it for at least thirty minutes. Only then will it show signs of life. -

Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

all of the sudden after a month of having my ipod video, it wont turn off
any idea what to do? will resetting it even help??
it plays music just fine and nothing wrong with the connection to my computerLike the guy said, different levels. You only have to hold down Pause, and then the system goes into Sleep mode. The problem is that you probably moved your finger when the button was pressed. Don't. Keep your finger still on the button. This happened to me oh so many times
Otherwise, add a Sleep item to your Main Menu. Hold down Menu for a few seconds to go back to the Main Menu. Go to Settings > Main Menu. Scroll down to "Sleep", and turn it on. Now go back to the Main Menu, and choose the Sleep option. -

Blackberry Classic wont turn off or on
Have a Classic, the red light is flashing once then 6 times fast then repeats. It wont turn off or on?
Looks like a problem with the battery.
With other models you could remove the battery and place it back again, but here... more difficult to perform!
Maybe you should consider to bring it back for service.

Ipod 3g wont turn off, ipod 3g wont turn off
Ipod touch 3 g wont turn off
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod Classic 120G turned off and won't turn back on.
I have the iPod Classic 120G and I was listening to it and it turned off. I've tried restarting it and plugged the iPod back into the computer and it still fails to turn on. Help please?
If it's not the HOLD switch, try resetting it with the two-button combo.

Ipod nano wont turn off?!
Hi. (:
I can't get my Ipod to turn off. The display is still onm but it wont play. Its like its frozen. please help!?Sorry, that wasn't exactly helpful was it. Hopefully yours is recoverable. Eventually it will pass out from battery exhaustion and then you can plug it into your conmputer. Start itunes. I migth take 30 minutes before it appears as on icon on your computer. Make sure you have the latest ipod updater software. Once the icon appears on your itunes go ahead and restore. You WILL lose all our your songs on your ipod if they are backed up in your itunes library. After restoring load it again with your music and see if it happens again. Hopefully that will solve it.

PS make sure your hold button is released or itunes and your computer will not recognize it at all. -
my ipod is a 30gb video and it does everything but turn off. i have reset it and tried everything. the pause button works but it wont hold to turn off. help please
I've noticed something if you have your iPod in a dock while hooked up through USB to the computer. If the computer is on, you cannot just take the iPod out of the dock or it will not turn off. This can also lead to songs skipping for no reason while you try to play them. The thing you need to do is open iTunes and hit the eject button on your iPod. Then when it disappears from the list of devices in iTunes, you can take it off the dock and it should be good to go.
But if you've got it in a bad/screwed up cycle, the first thing you should do is reset it (as you've done before, but you need to do it immediately before opening iTunes and ejecting it). Reset it, then open iTunes with the iPod connected, eject it, and you should be good to go. I had the same problem a while back and realized that I was just being careless. Once the iPod is into a "good" cycle from doing this, if it's not hooked up to a computer that is turned on, it should turn off just fine. But the second you hook it up to an "on" computer, you either need to shut the computer down before removing the iPod from the dock or you need to eject the iPod from iTunes as I've detailed above. -
Hi there. My iPod classic is less than a year old and now it just wont turn on. Any idea why?

Ipod screen wont turn off when recharging
I have an 80Gig Ipod Video.
Right now I am charging it via USB on my computer and the screen does not turn off.
Is there something wrong with the Ipod?
Can someone help me?
Ive read the other threads about holding down the Menu and select button and have rebooted it several times
As well and jostling the hold button on and off.
Isnt the backlight supposed to turn off the screen while recharging?
thanks for the help. The screen stays lit up so you can see what your ipod is doing while its plugged in. IE: OK TO DISCONNECT, or SYNC IN PROGRESS/EJECT BEFORE DISCONNECTING
If you see the OK to disconnect text try closing itunes completely, this will let your ipod know its not in use. -
Ipod Nano , wont turn off ,displaying "charging" icon instead
Hey y'all
ive been using this ipod nano for a while now,no problems
recently updated it to the newest firmware
anyhow it doesnt turn off now, instead when the stop button is pressed for a few seconds, the screen goes blank then the "charging" icon appears even when the ipod is disconnected
also, when the ipod is working the battery meter doesnt show,
and the "charging" icon is displayed instead
i tried restoring the ipod a few times,no effect
any ideas?Hi, my ipod nano has exactly the same problem---won't turn off, shows the big charging icon instead, even after resetting it many times, and successfully restoring/updating the firmware to v1.2. It plays music fine, but it won't shut off.
What ever happened at repair shop, did they say what is wrong? Maybe I have to send mine to a repair shop too.
Thanks
