Connect the iPod to your computer and charge it for at least an hour and then try to restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer. If it asks for an passcode and you do not know it place the iPod in recovery mode to bypass the the passcode. For recovery mode see:

when i was at my soccer game i realized that someone opened a bottle of gatorade and poured it all over my iPod touch 5th gen. it had a whole in the upper right side and thats were the gatorade went in. it won't turn on, but heats up if i try to charge it. i put it in a bag of ice for about a 3weeks.Still wont turn on.WHAT CAN I DO? The computer freezes? There may be something wrong with the USB port. If the laptop has more than one port, does this happen on any port? If you are disconnecting the shuffle cable from the computer, does it make any difference if you disconnect the shuffle at the other end of the cable first, then disconnect the cable from computer? Or if you currently disconnect the shuffle from cable first, try it the other way.
You may be able to work around this problem, if you get a self-powered USB hub. Something like this one

There are many choices, but be sure to get one that has its own power supply. You can leave the shuffle cable connected to the hub, and connect the shuffle to the hub, instead of directly to the computer. This may provide a "buffer" for whatever is causing your laptop to shut off when the shuffle is disconnected. Since the hub has its own power supply, it will not rely on the computer for power to re-charge the battery. -

I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized subsequently. Is it because i am not uninstalling itunes before I download it? Surely this is a basic thing, ie that my devices need to recognize each other?

I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.

HELP. Ipod Touch 3rd gen won't switch on after updating to OS 4
So here's the thing. I tried to download and install the new OS 4 (i think i had iOS 3.1 before) to my Ipod Touch 3rd gen. Since it was taking a bit too long, i left it hooked up to the laptop for an hour to do some errands. When I got back, the laptop was on standby mode. I checked Itunes and it had this prompt saying update failed or an error occurred (#1602 I think but I don't know what it meant that time). I then checked my Ipod Touch and it was switched off. So we figured maybe the battery got drained while we were gone and tried to plug it via AC charge for 10 minutes. Nothing happened. I tried to hook it up to the laptop, no luck there either. The charger worked fine for an Ipod video we also have. I'm scouring the webs for what to do, Im getting worried. hope someone can help me in this. Thank you.
(and additional question. I'm here in the Philippines right now but this Ipod Touch was my sister's, I think she bought this last year in the US. She just sent it to me this month. When I got my ipod I made an account with iTunes right from my ipod.Yesterday, I made a password lock to get into my ipod and I couldn't get into it even though I did the correct one. Now it says"connect to iTunes" BUT I can't because I never registered on the computer. I've tried holding the home and sleep/wake button for 10 sec and then only the home for 5sec and that might have reset it, but it didn't help. If any of you guys know what to do so I can unlock it I would appreciate it VERY much.

I bought a used i-pod touch 4 gen that I'm trying to set up. It isn't lettting me join my home wi-fi network. So I turn it on and I pick language, then country , then my wi-fi network. It sounds like he is setting up the iPod via wif. You can't continue. What yo can do is reset the iPod
- Reset the iOS device.
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Then start the setup over again but this time connect the iPod to a computer and set up via iTunes. Then he can troubleshoot the connection proboem. -
My ipod touch 4th gen used to only charge when it was completely off, but now a week or 2 later i am having to wrap my charger around my ipod to make it start charging but soon enough that still isnt charging.

I keep getting the error message "turn on home sharing in iTunes". This is already enabled however i have to keep disabling this and then re-enabling it to get it to work. This solution is short lived as this error returns randomly within an hour.

And i dont know how to delete songs?You must have a counterfeit iPod since that latest model sold by Apple is the 5G.
Assuming y have a 5G with iOS 7, that means those songs are available for download via iCloud. To download just tap on the song/icon when an internet connection is availalbe.
Of yo do not want those to show, go to Settings>iTunes and App Store>SOW ALL and turn off Music.
