iOS6 problems aplenty ....not sure if the link I inserted is working or not, but the issue is a lot more prevalent - the issue being that what shows up & plays in iTunes after the iOS6 update is not what shows up (& plays) on the device itself. This may go beyond just the iPod Touch as well.
In my case I can see & play both audio & video files in my Playlist through iTunes, but can only see the Playlists on the iPod Touch with ALL of them being empty. Syncing numerous times no help. Contacting Apple Tech. Support no help - they suggested downloading my Purchases from the iTunes Store - waste of time, did not make a difference. It is clear Apple needs to release a fix to OS6.
Another problem I noticed on the device is that the Shuffle option is hidden on the built-in Songs Playlist, having to swipe the screen down to see it - dumb dumb dumb.

The beeps could be caused by something as simple as a loose internal wire or connection. If it is under warranty (not sure how long that is, as WD drives range from 1 to 5 years depending on the model's series - I think "my passport" drives are 3 years) you could contact WD and ask them about it.
If it is out of warranty, you could also try opening the case and check the connections - the drive may be fine, and there have been posts on TomsHardware forums of people getting the beeps, opening up the case and the drive is fine, just some wire worked loose.

I was downloading updates for Ipod touch 2nd gen and when the process was to the processing files point the screen changed and I wasn't given any idea as to whether the process was complete or not and if it was what was to be done next. I needed to reset the Ipod and now I am wondering what to do . Spend another Hour downloading and whatever amount on processing files and end up where I am now . Whats the next step in finding out what to do? This was the second attempt to do this with the first try happening the same except I am not sure how long the processing files part was.. I have Windows Vista and have tried everything! My Ipod Touch has Malfunctioned and cannot be recognized by Windows or Itunes! When I turn my Ipod on the white apple comes on and the 15 seconds or so after that a thin line comes on the screen above it.

A thin line appears above the logo then the loading sign pops up and then the whole thing freezes! I read somewhere to hold the home button and then plug in the usb will help it be recognized by Itunes or help to restore it!
