My iPod Touch says, "iPod Disabled, connect to iTunes" When I connect to iTunes, it says, "iTunes could not connect to the iPod because it is locked with a passcode. Please enter the passcode to unlock it" But it wont let me!
I keep on turning my iTouch on and off, and then I waited a few days, but it is STILL locked! Please help me!
Restore...
From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Try connecting the iPod touch to the computer you normally sync it with.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 provides details about the passcode lock feature.
If you cannot remember the passcode or don't have access to the computer that the iPod is normally synced with, you can restore it from recovery mode and set it up as a new device without any data. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through restoring from recovery mode.

I am trying to restore my son's iPod Touch 4th generation. I went about 20 minutes into the recovery process and got the error message, iTunes could not connect to iPod because it is locked with a passcode you must enter your passcode on iPod before it can be used with iTunes. The whole problem started with my son putting in a password that he has now forgotten. How do I get passed this?

can u link it to an computer to add music?
if so you should be able to restore it
connect to itunes under the devices tab click on the ipod now click summary on the top

Either wait until Wednesday, February 12, 2053, or restore the iPod:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Select the iPod in iTunes and choose "restore from backup". -

It sounds like you never placed the iPod in recovery mode. Doing so bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod). When you connect an iPod in recovery mode to the computer, iTunes will tell you that it found an iPod in recovery mode.
See if this program will get the iPod in recovery mode:
