Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iMac will not boot up after a software update. the screen is all whute will show a grey apple in the middle and will look like it is working but nothing happens; this can go on forever.
Does anyone have any suggestions?Do you have a backup in the form of a bootable clone or Time Machine? Restore that and then try the update again.

Another option might be to download the standalone from Apple Downloads on another Mac and try installing it in Firewire Target Disk Mode to the Mac that was interrupted during the update.

My ipod was working fine, I downloaded a couple of songs and my sync would not work properly, the computer said it was in sync but some of the songs didn't download. I trying just picking the ones that did not load and now I have no content in my ipod. I restores it to manufacrtureres settings and backed up from file but my ipod says no content? My iPod was working fine until I finally decided to update the software. After i did this, it told me to update my firmware by plugging it in. I did, and then when I unplugged it later on, every song on my iPod was gone. A few days later, I plugged the iPod into my computer and all the songs magically came back on it, even the ones that were not backed up on the computer I plugged it into. It worked fine for a couple of days, but this morning when I tried to play a song, it kept lagging and would struggle, making some clicking sounds (not continuous ones like when a harddrive crashes, just occasional ones like it was having trouble reading), so I reset it. When I started up again, I got the sad iPod icon. I have since tried everything in every relevant support article I could find. I tried the 5 R's, and I also put it into disk mode (which it finally did, after much lagging), but still my computer would not recognize it, even after reinstalling iTunes.
Basically, what it comes down to, is I cannot restore it, because I cannot get my computer to recognize it. It has always worked fine on this computer -- in fact, I never had a single problem with my iPod until I tried to update the software. I guess I learned, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' - but how can I ever get my iPod to work again? Can you still boot to the Recovery partition using Command and R whilst booting? Or did you wipe the Recovery partition as well?
If your Recovery partition is still intact, you can simply boot to it and reinstall the OS via the Internet. If you wiped the Recovery partition, you can hold down Command, option and R keys whilst booting and boot into true Internet Recovery mode. You'll be able to reformat the hard drive, erasing all partitions (format it as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with a dingle GUID partition) and then reinstall the OS that shipped with your machine.
Note that you should use a physical Ethernet connection when restoring over the Internet - it's three times slower if you use wifi.
Try your Recovery partition first and if that doesn't work, use Internet Recovery.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If it does not resolve the issue, the device is permanently damaged and will require replacement. -

Before you got down that route, it's possible that it might get fixed if you try again. Not sure about that particular error, but I have had errors in the past that Disk Utility wouldn't fix on the first attempt but then subsequently did.
It's also possible that the (around $99, I think) Disk Warrior might resolve it - but not guaranteed.
However, I just found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3862376?start=15&tstart=0 have a look at Nirvi's post at the end - there may be hope (I've not tried this, although it seems to have helped a few, although not everybody - so at your own risk and I wouldn't try it if I didn't have backup). -

Sounds like the 'white screen of death'.
Try rebooting your phone. Take the battery out for a few minutes then re-insert battery and see what happens. It may take some time to reboot. There have been numerous "fixs" for this problem, but until RIM come up with a definitive answer to stop it happening, then really theres nothing we can do except try some things. The battery pull has been offered on a few forums and some say it worked for them. Worth trying again.
You could always try THIS
but that seems a bit extreme, but may work if the reboot doest. Do you remove the battery whilst its still on? thats how you normally do a reboot. take batt out whilst powers on. Sorry if this doesnt help, but i know theres people all over the net that get this issue. -
I have a macbook and when I power it on and then select myself as a user...It won't power up. It stays in the white screen with the apple logo. I am online currently under 'guest user'. Is there anything I can do from the keyboard to fix this??? Help!!!
Could you specify the model of MacBook and the OS X it's running, please? Some of the advice or references vary along with the system, so this could be helpful to formulate a reply. I've never used a Guest User selection, but do have more than one User.
If the computer does not have an optical drive, you may be able to boot it into a recovery disk mode or something; in an attempt to see what is wrong and maybe fix it.

My 7th generation ipod nano is now only displaying a white screen with blue horizontal lines along the bottom. It still plays music and is recognised in itunes with I connect it to my PC.
I have reset is and restored it and it is charged.

It sounds like your iPod nano is only showing the Apple logo with a white background, and you've tried many good steps including resetting and restoring the device. I know I'd miss my music in this situation.

When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7 and iPhone 5.
