My Mac Air shows a green screen when attempting to watch iTunes movie downloads....... All updates are completed. Mid 2012 Mac Air.....

When I attempt to watch any  Itunes movies on my Mac Air IOX 10.9.2 all I get is a green screen. I can hear audio but nothing else. Please advise why this happens and how I can sort it out.

    I am not sure about podcasts, but for similar symptoms playing videos - try disabling Direct3D acceleration in Quicktime.

    I just bought my iphone4 few days ago. Everything works fine but everytime when I wake up it's screen it will show a green screen b4 the SLIDE TO UNLOKE comes out. It only happen under the sun. When I do the same thing at a dark place. It wont show the green screen
    Plus the green screen doesn't keep a long time maybe 1 second. I just wondered whether it gets worth as time goes by?

    Take a screen shot & use the tiny Camera icon in a Reply to upload it, if we see the same thing it's a Video card/VRAM, or OS problem, if we do not see the same thing then it's the Monitor or cable.

    I have a laptop that I take to work. I am a teacher at a school. When using my school internet, I am able to see my movies in itunes. But, when I take my laptop home and use my internet, I get a black screen when trying to view a movie.

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
    *Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
    If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    *Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
    *Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    *Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
    *Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
    Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

    Are you using a MacBook Pro model with dual display cards? (I.e., check your profiller.) If so, Snow Leopard and Lion users have indicated that switching from "Battery Saver" to "Performace" mode in the System Preferences "Energy Saver" window fixed this problem. Not sure if this also works for Leopard systems but it might be worth looking at.

    When I try and play the new iPhone 4 Keynote in Quicktime, I can hear the audio, but just have a green screen as video. I have Quicktime X.

    You should be using QuickTime Player 7, which is in your Applications/Utilities folder (if you've got it installed). If not you can install it from the Snow Leopard DVD (Optional Installs).

    This is my set up. I have an iMac running OS X (10.5) and a mac mini running (10.6) this mac mini is hooked up to my tv in the living room, it also is fitted with an external hard drive (this is where my itunes media folder is located for my mac mini). I enabled home sharing on both macs and they are both authorized to play my media. I recently downloaded two movies on my iMac and transferred them to my mac mini. Now here is the problem. I can play the movies fine on my iMac but when i try to play them on my mac mini all i get is a black screen with no sound. The movie is playing on the mac mini because i see the time bar moving but nothing is on the screen.
    Please help.

    When I click the "exit" button on my iTunes Artwork screensaver, a black screen with my cursor appears; the login box ought to be there so I can enter my password to log back in, but it isn't visible. I am using a 2012 Macbook Air running Mountain Lion. I have to close the laptop and reopen it in order to get the login screen to appear.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Usually I just wait and click around then the black screen goes away, but maybe that's not working for you. Currently I don't think there is a solution to the problem, except for waiting, or closing your MacBook. It's also weird for me because after upgrading to Mountain Lion I RARELY get the iTunes Artwork screen saver anymore. My MacBook usually just falls asleep (goes to a pitch black screen) and when I wake it up I just get the login box. I don't know what the problem is with either of these things, but it has to do with Mountain Lion.

  • CC 2014 Update Makes My Mid-2012 Mac Pro Worthless

    I've been a big fan of working in Premiere Pro for about a year. Sure there have been hangups and frustrating technical issues, but nothing you wouldn't experience using Final Cut or Avid. However, the latest big 2014 update has rendered my workstation completely useless. I'm not even sure how to describe all the the things that are happening. Crappy, digitally broken renders, unusable exports, barely existent playback, and crashing. My god, the crashing. Some projects won't even function for 5 minutes before wrecking the system, or even downright shutting down the computer. As in, the computer is running, and then literally 10 seconds later, the computer shuts down entirely on it's own without me touching anything. It's always nice enough to flash a jagged, pixelated render malfunction of some sort right before this happens. I've never experienced such horrifying software problems. And while I have by no means given complete or cohesive scientific descriptions here, I'm just curious if anybody else's life has gone to hell since this update? What and I doing wrong? My computer is only 2 years old! There's no way it can be obsolete already! Below are my specs. Any and all advice/consolation is appreciated.
    Mac Pro (Mid 2012)
    Processor: 2 x 2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory: 24 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 ECC
    Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB

    Glad to know I'm not alone, Yonkondy. One thing I just tried that seems to be helping performance a lot is to hold down the Shift+Option keys while the project is loading up. This clears the preferences. It won't look like anything happens initially (there's no dialogue box or anything to tell you that the preferences have been cleared), but I was finally able to save my project without it crashing! Baby steps I guess, haha.

    Did you try dragging the corner to stretch the screen? Or the green traffic light?
    If so, try pressing the green traffic light while holding the option key... or delete the .plist for iTunes or edit it manually.
