Somebody help.. I don't get what's going on. This didn't happen in the beginning, it was completely fine with watching full screen videos, but now it seems to "glitch" now and then and appear slow and laggy. whattttt
If the computer seems normal except for watching youtube the problem is probably between you and your ISP or between the ISP and youtube. If your computer seems slow no matter what you are doing try restarting your computer and see if that helps. (If so pay attention to your Page Outs in the Activity Monitor and also how much free space your hard drive has.)

Did you do a TM backup after you installed the disk? It may write over the previous backup.. but it should actually start a new one.

You should be able to do a full recovery of the TM backup to a USB drive plugged into the computer. -
My iMac and MacBook Calendar will no longer sync with iCloud. I don't understand why?
All of the sudden about 10 days ago, I noticed that when I asked to refresh my calendar, that it just hangs on both my iMac and my MacBook. And neither are syncing with iCloud calendar. I'm not certain if my iphone calendar is synching or not because nothing is getting transferred to my iMac or MacBook.
The system status says all is OK. My iCloud is still turned on for both computers. So I'm not sure what to do next.Yes. iCloud on the web is correct although the latest stuff I added to my MacBook is not showing up because it won't sync.
In System Preferences iCloud is selected and they are turned on on both machines as always.
There are no other calendars linked to iCal. I just have a Home, Work, and Birthday and US Holidays all linked in.
I did try something on my MacBook that seemed to work. I went into System Preferences and turned off Calendars and Reminders in the iCloud setting. That prompted a message that all of the iCloud iCal data would be removed from the computer. I made sure the web version was accurate before I did this. Then I shut down my computer and restarted. When I restarted I went back into System Preferences and turned on Calendars and Reminders and now it seems to be working.
I'm about to try the same thing on my iMac.
If this works both times, my question then would be what would cause both my iMac and MacBook to disconnect as it seems from iCloud when I hadn't changed anything at all. -

They are not exactly free on the new devices either. iMovie and iPhoto are included, when you buy a new device. You're purchase price for your older devices did not include the apps, so you have to buy them, sorry. -
When I transferred my data from a 128GB Macbook Air to 256GB Macbook Air (brand new version as of 9/1/13) I end up with 188GB used! I add up the size of Users, System, Library and Applications and it comes to 90GB. What am I missing? How did I "use" up so much space in migrating from one Mac to another?
Did you use the Setup Assistant available at the beginning of the new machine's setup process? Or did you use Migration Assistant later after you had set up the new machine?
If you used Migration Assistant, you generally wind up with two accounts (the new one you set up on the new machine plus the old one you ported over) - that may explain your excessive use of space. In that case, you can either manually combine/remove all unnecessary duplicate files, or you can start over by using Command + R, wiping your drive, and downloading the OS. Once it's downloaded, use the Setup Assistant offered at the beginning of the install/setup process. -

i bought a brand new MBP like 6 months ago and now it won't charge. I tried using a friends MBP charger of the same year as my computer but it still says not charging at the top right corner of the computer screen where the charging symbol is. This problem just happened out of nowhere because it was working the day before then the next day it just stopped working saying it is not charging. I tired doing all of the suggested techniques to fix it but not luck.

As you can see where it is labeled "AC Charger information" it states that its connected but there is no Wattage and says its not charging .

I am running Mac OS X Lion on a brand new Mini. Every now and then, my keyboard goes "dead." The mouse still works but I can't type. If I restart, everything is fine again. Is there anything that will fix this problem?
Also, I am trying to connect my Mini from the mini-Displayport to the Displayport of my Dell U2410 monitor. The image is very grainy,even though it is set to the correct resolution: 1920 X 1200 at 60Hz. If I use HDMI to VGA input, the image is much clearer. Is there a way to get the Displayport to work?I'm having exactly the same keyboard issue. Certainly nothing has ever enhanced my concentration while coding like suddenly becoming unable to type.

If you're unfamiliar with the system log…
Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
If necessary, choose View > Show Log List.
system.log is at the top of the FILES section.
Try searching it for hot words like DEBUG, FATAL, and aborted.
I've found some discussions that would tend to indicate my errors are postGres related – I'm running OS X server.

Depends on how you want to use it. Flash storage on the newer macbook and macbook air are built in. A macbook air is the most light weight and a very good machine. It will do all you want it to do unless you are running some very intensive programs. If you go to the apple store on line you can compare the different macbook pro" and macbook Air's.

I received an iPhone as a gift which was factory sealed and brand new. I was using it fine and one day it suddenly said no service so I called my service provider up and they said that my iPhone has been blacklisted. I don't understand why it has been blacklisted when it was factory sealed. So my service provider asked if I can show them proof of purchase and I said to them that I have to ask the person that gave it to me. So when I asked the person they said they bought it from the Internet and the only thing they have is an invoice, nothing else and they can't get hold of the person they actually bought it off. So what can I do now, can somebody please help me, as I've done nothing wrong.
A common scam in the UK is to order an iPhone using an available upgrade from a carrier, report it missing or stolen from the post, then re-sell it for cash and get a replacement from the carrier. The original will be blacklisted.
Ask whoever gave it to you where they actually got it from. Sounds like they either got scammed or they themselves are trying to defraud their carrier. -
If I back up my iOS devices on my iMac in the US, then do a time machine backup to an external HD, will I be able to plug the external HD into a brand new iMac in the UK and restore the new machine as per the old one, and restore my iOS devices?

Oh, you cannot use a computer whose only disk drive is the target of a an OS X cloning operation regardless of what software is used for the clone. You can, however, use the source drive except if you try to clone using Disk Utility. -

I made sure that the cartridges bleed out very well (on a damp paper towel until ink bleeds out) yet the characters come out very skipped, lined and in short, look terrible. Both printers should have been covered under the lawsuit against HP but I've yet to see a dime and I've been through more cartridges than I can count. With that said, I'm open to hearing any type of device short of thrilling the printer out the window of a 30 story building window because they both should work quite well. Any suggestions, ideas or what should I do next because I'm quite frustrated and the money doesn't grow on trees in my neighborhood or checking account. You can't drag a transition into the canvas. If you're dragginmg a transition from the effects tab you drag it between the edit point of two clips in the timeline.
Make sure show edit overlays is turned on in the Canvas view popup.
