My MacBook Pro won't charge when I plug it in. the green or orange light won't even turn on. The computer is dead already, so I cannot mess with my settings. What do you suggest?

I have a Mac Book Pro with the serial number: C0*******TY3 and the model no: A1278. I wanted to charge it this morning, and it won't charge meaning that the light even won't turn on, and also my computer is dead, so I cannot change anything on the system preferences. What should I do? I will make an appointment at the Genius Bar, but what do you thing the problem is here?

First see the MagSafe troubleshooting tips:Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters and check to see that all looks ok. You might want to try using another charger in case the charger is faulty. If that doesn't help, take the MacBook Pro and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system to see where the fault is.

My macbook pro will not charge when I am using it. My battery will say "charged" then "not charging" and it goes back and fourth. It says "Power Source: Power Adapter". But when I use my pro it will loose the power source then reconnect a second later to it. This problem is getting annoying because I have to stop using my macbook pro to charge it.

You do have the ability to create good user interfaces with LabVIEW.
The main problem is what do you, or your customer consider a good user
interface.
The first thing I would suggest is to start using the "Dialog Control"
controls for your front panel. This set of controls pick up their style
from the operating system, so they will match the rest of the system
applicaitons.
Another thing is limit the use of color on the front panel. One persons
idea of a nice shade of blue can be another person eyesore. Instead,
use the decorations for grouping of controls.
I would stay away from ActiveX. It's interface is quirky at best and there is a lot of overhead involved.
Just to show it's possible, the attached images are screen shots of
user interfaces I've designed with LabVIEW. The first two use the
Dialog Controls, and the third uses standard controls and color at the
customers request.

Windows has a software updater built into Windows and when you install the Boot Camp drivers then it will install an Apple software updater also. I believe Windows is set to automatically download and install your updates as does the Apple software Updater. They both will update the individual files it needs to periodically.
"Microsoft updates" and "Windows updates" are basically the same thing in Windows. Are you talking about the "Windows support software" when downloading from Boot Camp Assistant? Apple installs a software updater for it's Boot Camp drivers in Windows 7 so you can do it manually or automatically.
The "Hot Fix" your referring to is only for certain motherboards built from other Windows only computer manufacturers and does NOT pertain to any Apple computers.

Since i upgraded to itunes 5.0, i lost my itunes , i can not open it no more, installed it again same thing. Now my Shuffle won't work, when you touch play it will blink the green and orange light. Can not speak with a shuffle agent because 3 months passed. And they want you to nuy an a contract for $59.00 for something that cost $149.00?

You could always try a SMC reset -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 - but I don't believe that will solve your problem.
If I were you, I would take the machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose the problem. It could be something very simple or it may be something more complex within the power management system.

Macbook Pro way too loud when headphones plugged

I've always had this problem, when I plug in any type of headphones, I must lower the volume to one - max two - "blocs" of volume, otherwise my head explodes. I unplug them, and I have normal volume range with the external speakers.
Anyone has that problem too??

Have you learned anything more about this problem? I have the exact same issue. Headphones that work fine on an older Macbook Pro are deafening on the new (Mar. 2008) model.
I haven't had time to go down to an Apple store and see if it is the same on all machines.

I have the 'new' iPad and it won't charge when I plug it into an electrical outlet. It has been charging fine up until last week.

I have the New iPad and the last two times I went to charge it overnight, it didn't charge. I tried moving the charger to a different outlet and it would click to indicate that it was charging and then it would stop. Finally, it did charge, but today it just won't begin to charge. Is this a common problem? Very frustrating after paying the big bucks to get the latest iPad.

There are probably three reasons your ipad might not charge:
1. The outlet is. It good. But you've already changed outlets so that may not be the likely cause. Just to be sure double check the outlets with another appliance to make sure the outlet has power.
2. The charger is bad. First make sure you are using the charger that came with your iPad. Then double check all your connections.
3. Your connector on the iPad may have dirt in it. Blow the dust out and try again.
If none of these work your iPad may be falty or you may need a new charger. Goto a apple store and have them check out your hardware.

Why does my mac book pro screen go black when it goes to sleep and then will not light up again unless I unplug the power cord

When I either leave my mac book pro open, but idle long enough for it to go to sleep or close the top and put it to sleep, the only way to light up the screen again is to diconnect the mag. connect power cord. Any ideas why and/or how to correct this problem?

So this is what I got when I took my computer into the apple store to have it diagnosed.
After the apple technician performced several tests, the only thing that fixed the issue was an SMC reset. Based on this he figures it is probably a software or firmware issue that is going on. He is a little concerend how ever that the fans of the comupter don't reach maximal rpm when the computer is displaying the issue. So he recorded the problem, and told me to just perform the SMC reset as needed for the next couple months and wait for a new update from apple. If the issue persists I am to go back to the apple store and they will take the appropriate steps.
He said an SMC reset doesn't hurt the computer in any way, so its safe to do. I am gonna contact blizzard and let them know about the issue as well because if it is software, it could be their game (Diablo 3) that is causing the issue as well. If I hear of anything new i will let you know. So get on the blizzard form and let them know of the issue to fix the problem faster.

Keep iPhone on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. This can take 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

Not sure if this has anything to do with the new download, but Thursday I downloaded the '08 updates (yeah...I am slow getting to it), anyway... while I was downloading the updates, my phone of course was charging from the computer. Odd problem, but there are all kinds of problems with the wall chargers. If you want a new one, make an appointment with your local Genius Bar at the apple store, bring in your misfunctioning one, and they will swap it out for a new one. They do this routinely for charging bricks, sync cords, and headphones.

I have a gen3 iPod touch. It shows the battery charging when I plug into my PC, but will not show as an extra drive in "my computer" and won't show up in iTunes either. Can anyone help please? I have exhausted all "help" options.

I am trying to get my iPod touch (3rd gen), to show up in "My Computer" and in iTunes. I am using a usb cable and it is connecting okay, because the battery is charging. It won't show up as an external drive on my computer, and nothing in iTunes either. I have used the exact same usb cable and plugged into the exact same usb port with a different iPod touch without having this problem. I have swapped them back and forth and it seems to be a problem with this particular iPod, because the other shows up just fine. I have already downloaded and installed the latest iTunes update, and I already restarted the computer afterwards. The other iPod is a 4th gen touch, but that really shouldn't matter.
