MY NEW IPOD 60G WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MY EXISTING MUSIC FILES

I'M TRYING TO SET UP MY NEW IPOD AND IT WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MY EXISTING WMP LIBRARY OR A PORTABLE SONY VAIO LIBRARY. HOW CAN I CHANGE PROPERTIES OR EXT SO IT WILL. THANKS GB

You will have to get the tracks into iTunes before you can load them on your iPod. iTunes will import the following formats: AAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV, and unprotected WMA. If your tracks are in one of these formats, iTunes should be able to bring them in (try the Add To Library command first).
If the tracks are in protected WMA (either purchased from another download music store or imported from CD with the Windows Media Player default to copy-protect turned on) or are in Sony's proprietary format, then you will not be able to import them directly into iTunes. In those cases, the only way to get the tracks into iTunes will be to, if your download service allows, burn the tracks to an audio CD and then reimport that into iTunes.
