My new Ipod is called "My Ipod" in iTunes, but my computer calls it the same name as my sisters Ipod when it registeres it as a device being plugged in?
Ipod touch, both my sister and I have 8gbs and are both running Windows 7 home premium. So in iTunes the ipod is called the right thing... but when I am looking at my computers C: D: cd drives and that stuff... The device is listed as hers? E.g. Sisters Ipod?
Anyone know how to fix this so it will call it the correct name in both iTunes AND my computer devices and storage list?
Issue resolved. Deleted the ipods drivers completely from my system and auto-reinstalled them. It now shows up with the correct name. Thanks

How to sincronize with itunes an 3G iphone that has the same name as the new 4S
I've just boght a new 4s iphone to substitute my old 3G so when asked by itunes I didn't change the name of the new iphone. Now I have two I phones with the same name and the old one is not able to sinchronize with I tunes any more. It's not even able to restore it self so I could change its name to use it under a different Iphone, does any one have any idea of what can I do to reutlize it,. I'd much appreciate your advise, thank you,
León NikIt's easy to rename each unit. When you connect your iPad and it syncs, the unit will appear on the left of the iTUnes screens just click on the unit there and you can rename it. You should do this immediately so you can see which unit was backed up by it's name. You can sync as many decices as you want in one iTunes library and you can even share Apps as long as you're going to sync both from teh same iTunes account. My household has 2 iPad 2s and we share our apps, and we also share downloaded books, magazines, music, etc.......

I plug my ipod touch in and it wont show up in itunes. My computer says it doesnt recognize it either. I have tried almost anything. Can any one help me?

All it says on my ipod is it connected and disappears right away.
So you can't get your iPod to stay connected to your PC and iTunes is that correct? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port? Have you double checked to make sure the connections on each of the cable are snug? What happens if you try a different USB port or sync cable?

MY iPod touch says iPod I'd disabled, connect to iTunes, but it is green at the top instead of red. It won't allow me to slide bar to open screen or nothing. I tried to connect to iTunes and a message appears and says iTunes cannot find my device must have pass code to continue. But I can't do anything on the iPod at all. What can I do to fix this?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

im new to macs and im having problems connecting my ipad2 to my mac pro. i figured that it was the same percedure as hooking a ipod to a pc.... thank for te help!
Open iTunes with your iPad connected. It should be listed in the Devices section of iTunes sidebar. Select it. You should now see a window with several tabs across the top. You configure what you want synced under each tab, then sync.
You can download a PDF or iBook version of the user guide here. It contains detailed instructions on using the iPad, so I recommend you read it. -
I bought a new Ipod Nano and purchased songs on Itunes. How do I download the songs from the computer to my new ipod
Connect the iPod to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and then on the right-hand side you can use the Music tab to select which of your music that you want on the iPod.

i have 4 ipods on itunes but my computer was running slow so i put windows 7 on it but it wants me to sync my ipod but if i do i will lose all my music on my ipod how do i take my music and send it to my playlist so i can sync myipod so i won't lose any music
Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.
2. Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
3. Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.
A substitute for using the security questions is to use 2-step verification:

My daughter has an iPod touch using my apple ID, I just purchased an iPhone with the same ID. Is there a way to keep my stuff seperate from her ipod but still share the iTunes account? I was looking through the photo section on my iPhone and found pics my daughter has taken from her iPod. I do not want my pics, emails, etc to show up on her iPod. Is there a way to stop this from happening or do I have to create a different Apple ID for her to use instead?
If you have iOS 8 on all devices then:
If under 13 years create a new ID for her by:
Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids - Apple Support
The use family sharing to share apps

Family purchases and payments - Apple Support
If underage and not i)S on all devices then you have to create an ID for here under your name and supervise it use:
Create a NEW account using these instructions so yo do not have to use a credit card.
Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
More details of how:

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. -

My Ipod will charge in the computer but noy my iPod dock, my sisters iPod dock or the wall charger. My sisters iPod will charge in all and we both have the same software and generation. Why won't mine charge?
Look the dock connector on your iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corred contacts, foreign material and cracked/broken plastic.
Try:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears..
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod -
My iPod Touch is a 6.1.6
I got it as a gift a couple years ago, so I'm not sure exactly what generation it is. My iPod Touch will not connect to iTunes or my computer, and the "on this iPod" tab is also gone. I can't put anything new onto it and I can't take anything old off of it! This just happened recently as well, as it was working fine up until a couple months or so ago. Ipod classic does not show in itunes or my computer. Can anyone help?
I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I've had my Ipod classic 80GB for about 5 years. Yesterday for the first time, I encountered a major problem. My Ipod does not appear in either Itunes or My computer when connected by USB to my laptop.
The I pod just displays the message 'connected - eject before disconnecting'. Also my Itunes and internet explorer freezes while the I pod is connected.
I've researched the problem online all day and still no solution. Have already reset the Ipod to factory settings, performed diagnostics both on i tunes and disk mode on the ipod itself. The latter displays the information 'Reallocs 0 and Pending Sectors 2, which from my research indicates that the disk drive on the ipod itself is still ok.
Is there something I'm missing here? Or is it time to get a new Ipod classic?
Would be extemely grateful for any advice.
Thank you
Dario- however once i reached the crutial stage of
actually switching the 'terminal services' from
disabled to manual, I get an error message on my
computer "Error 5: Access denied" and nothing on the
site gives any indication of what to do in such an
eventuality.
Do you have an administrator account on your computer? If you are not logged in as administrator, do so before attempting to change the to manual. However, I myself am having the same problems with my own ipod..
