Hi my mobile is due for an upgrade in 7 days but I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade now or will there be a charge for this?

There will be a charge you will have to pay off all of your old contract. Wait the 7 days and there will be no charge.

    I don't believe they were looking for a trade in, they are due for a subsidized Verizon upgrade. I think the bringing the iPhone 4 was for setting it up and transferring as Verizon does not require you to swap your previous phone for an upgrade.

    You'll need to do an Assumption of Liability. The parent that is the account owner and your boyfriend will both have to be at the store to do this. Your line is actually your parents and it will be your fiancee's once the change is made. But you should be able to get your upgrade and you definitely get to keep your number. Also depending on your fiancee's credit history there may be a security deposit required.

    If you're the account owner, you can log on to My Verizon and see when you become eligible to upgrade.
    When you do become eligible, you will get the 2 year contract price of the phones - which is displayed on Verizon's website.

    There is no way nor any need to delete an Apple ID.
    Purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID.
    Regardless of having an iOS device, if you ever have the intent of listening/watching the media purchased with your Apple ID or in the future using an iOS device and the purchased apps, you will need that Apple ID.
    Simply restore the device as new prior to selling and it will wipe all your content and personal information from the device.

    I ask this question, because I was a little late purchasing CS4, and by the time I had it properly up and running on my XP sp3 machine, they brought out CS5. Add to that the fact that I bought a new Win 7 machine, and then found CS4 had a few compatibility problems, and I was not a happy bunny. Luckily I kept my XP machine, and still use it for web work.
    Having been a Dreamweaver and Fireworks user since version 3 - (not CS3) and using the two together for webs site design, it seems that I am no longer catered for by Adobe. There is no economic upgrade path for my CS4 Web Standard, and UK prices are way above US prices. I don't want to get bitten twice!
    So before I go down the less expensive path of purchasing a stand alone copy of Dreamweaver, and using Fireworks CS4 to produce the graphics, I need to be sure that the next upgrade version is not just around the corner.
    Can anyone tell me when the next version is due for release?

    In your guys and gals opinions, should I get the 4S or should I tough it out and wait for 5 (when I have not clue when it is being released). My 3GS is really slowing down now, I have had it for 2.5 years....... I can't decide..... what does everyone think?

    3GS to 4S is an excellent upgrade. If your 3GS is slowing down and you don't feel like waiting, I wouldn't feel bad about upgrading to 4S now. I think you'll be happy. Remember, no one has any idea when the next iPhone will be released. You could set yourself to wait another 8 months.

  • Options after new phone stolen (had for two weeks), and refurb doesn't work?

    Back in November, I ran into some bad luck with Best Buy phone insurance, and wasn't due for an upgrade with Verizon until March.  Long story short, I went into a Verizon store on Black Friday weekend to see what my options were, and walked away with a brand new Droid Maxx for only $40.  It counted as my new upgrade, and I was thrilled.
    Not two weeks after purchasing the new phone, it was stolen from me.  I contacted the Asurion insurance company and shelled out $150 to have another phone overnighted to me.  Much to my surprise, they sent me a refurbished Maxx with a small crack in one corner - clearly a great deal older than my two week old stolen phone.  I decided to give the phone a chance, since I didn't have enough money for other options.
    Now, nearly three months later, this refurb is not working out at all.  The crack has grown, I can't do any hands free or voice activating calling/navigation, the speakers cut out periodically, and most of the time I can't hear out of them to the point where I have to use speaker phone, and then the people I'm speaking with can't hear me.  To top it off, the usually fantastic and long battery life I enjoyed on the original phone are NOT present on the refurb.  It lasts half as long, when it does bother at all to charge.
    I work for a hospital and need to be on call nearly every day, and the needless quirks on this phone are making it very difficult to do so.
    I am at my wits end, and would like to know what my options are.  I did not pay almost $200 to insurance to have a subpar refurb for the next two years, and I cannot afford to pay $150 to Asurion for another refurb.  If my money goes anywhere, I would like it to go to something that will last me the next two years. I realize that I am very lucky to even have a nice phone, but it is not meeting my needs and is risking my day job when the hospital can't get ahold of me readily.
    What are my options?  I am on  family plan.  Should I pull my number off the plan for my own?  Try to qualify for Verizon Edge?  Or take my number to another provider that will give me a new contract and a new phone?  Thank you for your help in advance!

    You should have arranged return of the damaged replacement to begin with right then.  Too late for that though. At this point, you can buy a used phone on Swappa.com or elsewhere that is compatible to Verizon or buy full retail.  I don't they will let you Early Edge right now being so close to having just upgraded.

  • Has anyone had a problem with their phone dialer since 4.3 upgrade?

    My phone is useless unless I want to call someone from my contacts. As soon as I touch the phone app I get an error stating my contacts have stopped. I cant get this fixed. I've called Samsung and Verizon and tried all their suggestions and nothing works. The final suggestion from Verizon is to purchase a new phone a full cost because I'm not due for an upgrade until next year and I have a small crack in the corner of the screen so I'm not eligible for the trade in that the offer. They were kind enough to add that I can spread out the cost over a 1year period after I stated that a new phone would cost over $500. That is my only option at this point. Very frustrating, since I have been a customer for over 10 years! I signed the petition that is out there. Hopefully an upgrade comes soon to fix this upgrade.

    We are a family of 2 on AT&T family plan.
    Husband - iPhone 4S (White) - Due for an upgrade
    Wife - iPhone 4 (Black) - Broken Glass;Out of warranty;Not due for upgrade until 2013
    Option 1 - Take the upgrade and get either iphone 4S ($199) or Samsung Galaxy s2 Skyrocket ($149). Wiser to chose the cheaper option as we wait for new iPhone 5 or Galaxy s3
    Option 2 - Fix the wife's phone outside for $60 and be happy. Shouldnt pay $149 to get it fixed at apple and for the same amount we can get better samsung phone.
    Problem is we dont want to lose the upgrade chance by getting an older phone. Rather buy some time and get the newer phone. If apple fixes my wife's phone for less money or AT&T offers a temporary smartphone for less money that would be idle. What do you think?

    I went with the Galaxy S2 skyrocket and its been terrible. The battery life of the phone is bad especially after icream sandwich upgrade. The e-mail client is horrible. The keyboard and SMS client are also not that sleek. Lets not talk about the notification interface. I should have listened to you guys. I cannot wait for the new iPhone to come out. I have now realized that simplicity rocks. Even my 4 year old macbook is pretty cool. Apple, I miss you!

  • Losing all my recordings due to an upgrade

    I've just been informed that I will lose all my recordings due to an upgrade in 30 days time. Unfortunately the 2 weeks prior to this I am on holiday and wanted to record things whilst I'm away. Frankly, I am appalled that any upgrade should make us lose recordings and will therefore cancel my contract, seek compensation and change to someone that understands customer needs!

    Will this upgrade affect ALL BT Vision users I would love to know why I have not been notified?
    I am going on Holiday and want to record the Tour de France whilst away so this is terrible news

    On top of all the other BT Vision service problems I am experiencing: The rubbish BT Vision box locking up daily! - All my recordings ending 5 mins early! -  BT Vision box reporting no iternet connection when my PC and tablet both have wireless conectivity through the same home hub! this is the worst news possible.
    I am totaly fed up with BT Vision already and I have only had it for two weeks!
    Time to go buy a seperate HDD so I can just record off my TV directly!
    What a total joke and waste of my money BT Vison is turning out to be.

Within a wk one of the new iPhones started turning on and of like 10 –15 times a day. Wk 2 it turned off and would not turn on again . It was my sons who was in college at the time so we talked and he took it in to a Verizon store where he was told I need to come in since the account was in my name. He was away from home , Verizon could see on account it was his phone they said it was not abused, they could not even turn it on , they sold me the phone give him another phone maybe even a loaner till he gets another. So now I need to go to store and explain to 3 different people this is my phone and my son has it and I need a new one. what a waste of time after about 2 hrs and talking to different people and yes they said there were notes on his account from other person he had talked to from different store. So I finally walk out with a receipt in hand and being told I would have a new phone in a couple days. As I sat in my vehicle thinking this is stupid I looked at my receipt and noticed it said droid on it so back into Verizon I went. The salesman said that’s what your son has on his account. My son had activated a friends old phone so he has one since VERIZON REFUSED to give him one. Another hr 3 people and yes they can see he had a new iPhone and notes on it from other store. Sometimes sorry just doesn't do it. I was now late for a appointment . Now I walk out and have been told I will get a new iPhone in the mail in about 2 wk Yes 2 wks   again I bought it there just give me a new one and you send old one back. I will also get a new droid that I have to send back because they said they cant cancel it  . In about 3 days I get the Droid and sent it back Verizon mistake and a waste of my time . After waiting over 2 wks and not receiving a new iPhone back to Verizon I went . I am now bitter at Verizon after doing 20 yrs of business with them. 3 people 1 hr later I was told it got delivered to my post office . I got the tracking num called the post office and they say o yes that was the droid. Go back in to Verizon another hr of explaining I walk out being told I will get a new iPhone in a couple of days, We’ll see . Once again I got the phone in your store just give me a new one . Do you realize how much of my time you have wasted ? do you care? O what is Your Policy ? How many Billion did you make last year ? I am Locked into a new 2 yr contract . Why don’t you just release me ? After 20 yrs do you think I will ever renew my contract ?

    Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
    the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee

  • Phones are unavailable for me. How can i upgrade Leopard to Lion?

    The only thing stopping me from purchasing Snow Leopard is my self imposed isolation without access to friends or relatives who can make a phone call for me.  It is my choice and hardly Apple's fault. I left upgrading to Snow Leopard until long after it was withdrawn from sale from the on-line Apple Store. Thanks to Klaus1 for enlightening me. He is a good friend.
    I can hardly claim Apple should make a simple product already in existence available to me via the same methods much of its other products are at present, through their existing storefront in their existing website. I have no right to point out that this product is advertised with a price point and necessary in the path for upgrading to the most recent product Lion and is key to being able to purchase apps once that is functional with my OS. 
    But actually it falls under the jurisdiction of handicap access, and this problem is as always still an issue, not just for me, but many. It is not isolation that drives this query, but a demand for equal access.
    It is not like a person makes a choice to lose hearing. I did not impose my difficulties, they are in fact my constraints. I do not own a functioning phone for obvious reasons. I am delighted to own an ipad. I am here fighting for the opportunity to upgrade my laptop using a method that has been available to me for years... i know it may be easy for ya'll to call but i cannot. I am writing all this to appeal for an intelligent response to solve my very real problem.
    Who knows the best link or email where i can type a message and get support help...  I have sent several messages in varying locations with no response as of yet.
    Who has been on the phone call to get this upgrade, can you confirm what i have heard, that there is a link to purchase the product?
    Maybe there is a support line i can mail a text to.
    Please don't tell me to call or get a friend to call. This is not a solution, it is a way of skirting around the problem and it unfortunately alienates many people with a myriad of complex constraints who for whatever reason cannot use a phone.

    I would not know the price if it were not advertised. Posting a price and intent to sell is advertising.
    I suspect Apple's legal department would not agree.  If you wish to pursue that issue, good luck, but this is certainly not the place.
    I don't see how this is a policy issue. I see it as an oversight, and would like to have this thread available to others who share my situation of not having access to a phone.
    It's clearly not an oversight.  When Mountain Lion was released, and Snow Leopard was dropped from the online store, many folks complained.  Only after a month or so was it offered by phone. 
    Again, back to my question, does anyone have any experience with the phone call, leading to a link, what is that link, or does anyone know a way to get customer service via email.

    I'm glad to hear you'll be taking advantage of an alternate upgrade on your lines.  As previously mentioned, this can be done directly from My Verizon, where you can compare up to five devices and decide which device is perfect for you. Keep in mind you'll first select the line that is eligible for an upgrade.  Once this is done you will get an option to choose the line where the device will be activated.
