Try going to file-devices-restore from backup, if you dont have a backup then you may redownload past purchases (movies, music, apps, etc) from their respective stores by visiting "purchased" section.

Log into icloud.com and then click on the Contacts icon. If the list is empty, then it's gone.

I'm sure this happened to some of you before but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I purchased music direct via my iPhone but when I synced with iTunes some of my albums were missing. What is also weird is that the digital booklets have synced but I can't find the songs. How do I get them back?
I know that Apple has a policy to not downloading twice but I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not all that confident either so would really appreciate the help.

Restore your iPhone from the backup on your computer. Any messages received or sent since the last time you synced/backed up will not be recoverable.

Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it.

Use your computer's backup to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link, or do the same with both computers networked in some fashion, which shouldn't be hard to do if both computers are connected to the same wireless network.

The last time i synced/backed-up, my contacts on iphone are gone and address book is empty. how can i get them back?

i have an old mac book os x version 10.4.11 and an old iphone 3g. i've never had a problem syncing and backing up before, but the last time i did, it deleted my contacts on my iphone and my phone/address book entries on my mac book. any suggestions on how i can re-create? and, why would it have "deleted" my info this time? thank you for your help!!

OK. I signed into my Icloud account on my computer and just the basics
were there. My contacts, calendar. find my phone. No picture Icon.
In reading I had to Photo stream from my camera roll. It sounds like I
should just backup everything to Itunes in the future which saves everything.

After installing iOs5 onto my iPhone, all my photos and videos were deleted? How do I get them back?

I got the iOs5 update for my iPhone and I just checked my videos and photos in the camera roll and there is none there. It's all gone. Some conspiracy is going on . I upgraded my iphone and before upgrade, obviously iTunes backed up my iphone. After upgrade, lost all my contacts and I feel the icloud *****. Trying to contact apple asks me to pay for support. Isn't this annoying, on one side they keep reminding you to upgrade to new ios and then when you upgrade, you loose everything. They will only be where you put them. You get one download of audiobooks. As always it is your responsiblity to back up your content.
Certainly you did not update before making sure that you had trnsferred all purchases to your computer.
