My Proxy: How to implement a validation before insert/update

Hi,
In my env, the OIM User has an attribute called Employee Grade. When the user is configuring My Proxy, he/she can select users who grade who has grade equals or higher... I created a Rule Generator adapter and I tried to assign it to the Pre-Insert of Users.Proxy data object. Problem: There is no field availabe for this entity and I thought it was related to the table PXD (PXD_ORIG_USR_KEY and PXD_PROXY_KEY).
If I could access those fields, I would search the proxy user by PXD_PROXY_KEY and get he/she grade. After that, compare with the grade of the original user.
I alse have to iimplement the same logic when the user reasign a task to another user.
Have you ever implemented that or have any idea?

One option is to implement the proxy funtion as a separate RO. Makes it possible to do validation in the approval process but will force you to manually implement any functionality that you would like to have associated with the function.
Probably not easier than a GUI customization but I wanted to mention the option.

Even though I can save data into the infoprovider.

Do you just want to display them as red or also validate on them?
If its just display, you can try this:
Set both fields to autoSubmit="true" and immediate="true"
set the styleclass to depeding on the values like this:

Confirmation before insert, update or delete

Hi,
I want to create something like alert which before insert or update or delete ask me to do that. I mean that if i am going to insert a record, it will ask me "Are you sure you want to insert record", and provide two buttons OK and cancel. If i press cancel then it will not let me do that. I tried confirm function of javascript but even when i clicked cancel it went to insert the record. How can i achieve this functionality.

Need user response(confirmation) before Insert, update or delete

Hi,
I want that before insert or update or delete etc., an alert is shown to the user and if the user click OK button then that action is performed on database otherwise not. I wrote following javascripts in a user interface template and then called this function but it did not work

How to find out who made inserts/updates/deletes made to a SQL Table

I want to know WHO MAKES INSERTS/UPDATES/DELETES TO a particular SQL Table. Bascially I want to AUDIT ANY Edites made to a SQL 2008 TABLE. I need info such as WHO AMDE THE Updates i.e. the user first/lastname, When update was made, what row was updated etc...How
can I do that with SQL 2008?

One way to achieve that would be to use triggers to detect when a change is made to the table, and then insert a record into another table/database detailing what changed and who by.
You'd need three triggers, one for insert, update and delete respectively, and for each of those you use the "inserted" and "deleted" tables (system tables maintained by SQL) to retrieve what has been done. To retrieve who made the change you can query IDENT_CURRENT
which returns the last identity value for a specific table.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT SCREEN VALIDATION IN LDB?

I am making use of Logical Database in my report, and I want to do screen validation with the screen which already exists in the system? Is it possible to do so? If yes, then how? The LDB, I am using is PSJ.
Also, I would like to know, can we define our own selection screen incase of LDB? How is that possible if the answer is yes to it.BUt here I am not talking about dynamic selection screen. What I mean to say is that..., can we restrict the selection screen in LDB, by defining the fields which are required in the selection screen on execution of the report?
Someone, please guide.

Yes, we can define our own selection screen and that will come right below your LDB selection screen.
AND also LDB selection screen can be restricted ..for this you have to code in PBO of report for hiding the elements which u don't required.

How to do data validation before the submit by email

I am developing an offline interactive form. There is submit button inside, which should check all data and submit the form by email if checking passes.
My problem is that I can not cancel the submit event when the checking failed.
I use Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1.3284.
If I use Email Submit Button, I can do validation in presubmit event. But I can not cancel the event. Even there is error in validation, form is submitted anyway.
If I use normal button, I can do validation in Click event. But I can not submit form with code.
Is there anyone who has experience on this issue?

in that case, you can code just one line in the change event of all fields of the form
xfa.form.form1.....button_validation.presence = "visible"
xfa.form.form1.....button_submit_by_email.presence = "hidden"
After click of validate button,
if validation is successful,
xfa.form.form1.....button_validation.presence = "hidden"
xfa.form.form1.....button_submit_by_email.presence = "visible"

How to listen to treeModel before an update was made

I have got a listener on DefaultTreeModel. The problem is that its lisetner on 'treeNodesChanged' method contain only the new value of the node and not the previous value. How can I get the previous value of the node before it was changed.
can I have some event listener that have the old value, the new value and the path? on a changing TreeNode?
Alternatively, can I override the update of the TreeNode itself because I'd like to set it to another value and not the String value that JTree modification set it.

when you say "value" im not entirely sure what you mean, but if say value is path or really anything else this problem is quite trivial; Just have a local variable to equal this value e.g
TreePath mypath = tree.getLastPath(); (or whatever the method is)
then if an event happens you still know your previous path, do whatever you want with this and then write
mypath = tree.getLastPath() ; (or whatever the method is)

I pad 2 updated to iOS 6.1.3 and now wifi is greyed out. Apple support engineers say replace but my warranty exited 09/12. Funny how it worked perfectly fine before the update.

I just updated to6.1.3 and now my wifi button is greyed out. Apple support said it is a hardware issue. Funny how it worked just fine on the previous iOS. Now apple wants me to buy a replace not because my warranty expired 09/12. Seems to me like ios6.1.3 was an update to sell more products. Tried all suggested fixes with no success. With all the noted issues with ios6 there may be another class action lawsuit coming. Apple tech senior advisor unwilling to help. First advisor told me just buy a new I pad. Second advisor wants me to pay for a replacement. Can someone explain to me how an apple approved software upgrade that damaged my i pad is classified as my fault. I've seen some shady selling techniques but this one takes the cake in my book. Anyone have the contact information to higher up executives in apple for me to speak with about my issues?

Why you have to pass 14 parameters for DELETE and UPDATE? Do you have any Primary Key? If you do NOT have primary key in your table then in case you have duplicate information, SQL will update both or delete them together. You need to provide DDL of
you table. What are the data types of fields?

Running validation before the 'save as' script

Hi
I'm looking for a steer on how to run form validation before implementing the 'Save as' script - is this even possible??
Basically I want the save as script to run in the click event of my newly formed save button only if the validation script returns a positive value i.e. all mandatory fields are completed, I've used the script below:

Pre Database Insert / Update Validation

Hi,
I have a maintenance view that allow user to insert / update.
Let's say, z_my_table is my table
key1
key2
field1
field2
field3
I want to validate whether field1, field2, field3 whether exist in my table before insert / update.
However, due to some restriction, I cannot make it as part of the key.
My question is, how can I capture OR validate it before the data get inserted into the table ?
I checked some online help, and found that suggestion is to write a function module OR enhancement point.
Just wonder what is the common practice and how should I do it ? Thanks.

I don't agree with the design but if you want to do it anyway it can be done using Events in the Maintenance View.
After you've generated the Maintenance View of your Z table, within SE11 pull out menubar Utilities->Table Maintenance Generator, then menubar Environment->Modifcation->Events. Create New Entries and I think for your requirement you would need 2 entries - one at event 05 and another at event 18. Input the name of your routine and write the code by clicking its corresponding button.
The following is an example of a scenario where text of an object is retrieved and filled into the view display-only column according to user input of its related object id - for your requirement you would validate the user input after checking the input values in your existing table:
