My Router Stats and Speedtest results....

After getting hold of BT on 150 my broadband has improved from 0.50mbps to 2.50-3.00mbps.
My issue now is that I was at 6.30-7.00mbps in the first place so wondering if anyone can see anything wrong/affecting my speed below.....

Confusing Speedtest result

ok, to cut a long story short our broadband has been fixed this week by a friendly engineer (that was not meant in a sarcastic way he WAS a very nice and helpful lad) he said our broadband should be capable of doing up to 18Mb according to what the instruments said. we thought whoopee cool!
anyway he mentioned it'll take a few days to settle in, which was not a problem for us. that was this week on Monday.
the DL speed was approx 14Mb until Tuesday night then it suddenly dropped down to 3.5Mb and stayed that way. the upstream was 0.5Mb around that time.
i kept checking the speed with speedtester.net which works faster and is actually quite precise. ok you don't get the extra info but i wasn't bothered by it.
the daily check told me that the downstream stayed low on 3.5Mb but the upstream suddenly increased and is now around 0.9Mb.
so i thought it was time to give the bt speedtest another whirl today and the result is somehow mindboggling odd.
i have to add the router is now running without any interruption since tuesday.

so my question is why aren't i getting the speed the DSL Connection Rate claims i should have and the engineer said was easily possible.
it's like someone left the handbreak on for the downstream, whereas we never had such a cracking good upstream.
can someone give our downstream a gently nudge to wake it up please!
do i have to wait longer or should i ring up on Monday??

looking at btspeedtester results your profile is only 3500 which is why your download speed is so low for your 18mb connection. Did you notice before the drop in download speed if your router reset a few times in quick succession as that could be enough with 21CN aggressive nature on noise to drop your profile.
what is your connection time from the router? is it staying connected now 24/7?
it may help if you posted the adsl stats from your router and someone may be able to offer help/suggestions to get your profile back to normal

Acceptable ranges for router stats

There are many queries posted here about line speed which result in repliers asking the questioner to post their router stats.
Two of the main figures that always seem to be mentioned are the Line Attenuation and Noise Margin.
Is there anywhere that gives an acceptable range for these figures and a simple explanation of what affects them?
Same for any other useful stat figures e.g. values given by BT speedtester.

The main reason for the post was to put a little point across.

Now if I'd have posted that Q in December of last year then yes I wouldn't of had a clue. It's only through ye olde BT Beta Forums that my knowledge on certain subjects has grown to the level it is today. I've also learnt a stack of stuff from these 'thriving' forums (mainly unsolicited attempts!!!!!) and I've done my best to award a rating and to thank the poster for the reply. (If I've not then soz!).
Now to answer your Q:
I, by no means call myself an [Aspiring] Expert, many other members know a lot more than me. Some have made the odd post and IMHO deserve to be moved up the rankings and others have made many (they too deserve recognition). I'd sooner those with greater knowledge try and resolve other members issues. Finally Roger did get me thinking if I'd missed something and I thank him for replying. As the BTHH is pretty well locked down I replied referring to BT as that's all that one could do if all checks are carried out in the home by the user. The bit about me being confused with another customer is true (BT staff believe it or believe it not, are like us - only human and mistakes do happen) and it was in the hope that BT would double check that my hub is set back to auto. Many gamers ask for fast. I don't use my 360 online so I'm not overly fussed (yet).
Expertise wise: I've been known to open the odd hub or 2 and report on my findings (old forum - now history). Internal images are available on request. Wireless via the HH - I've learnt a lot from General Disquiet and again while I'm at it I'll thank him too. Privacy and tracking - thanks Dorset Vinney where ever you are now. Info on the BTHH's and interference on the phone - thanks Jarviser. You might see a pattern here with user ID's.
I'd also like to thank everyone else (too many to name) for helping me out along the way. You know who you are.
I'm yet to tinker with the Vbox but looking on the WWW it looks like it probably isn't worth the hassle.

Where on the Hh2 do you find the router stats ?

BW 10 days is a myth to keep you out of the helpdesk's hair. It all happens in the first two or three days once connected.

DAX - IF statement and filters within calculated column

Hi all,
I've got a bit of a complex formula I'm trying to run, but I'm not quite there yet. I don't know where/how/if I can place a filter within my IF statement for a calculated column due to so many variables. I either get errors or wrong numbers.
Hope the following makes sense.
Here is my formula for the calculated column [Years Since Last Task]:
=IF (ISBLANK([Last Task Date]) && ([Current Role]<>BLANK()), DIVIDE([Quarters],4), FLOOR(1. * ( today() - [Last Task Date]) / 365, 0.25))
Problem: I am getting "114.25" for Ken....but I want a blank result instead. Meaning, I need to also filter out any name (row) who has a blank [Current Role]. How do
I add a filter to this current formula? Is one more step of filtering possible in this IF statement? (Maybe I shouldn't use an IF statement, and try CALCULATE instead?)

Problem with store ResultSet and show result in table

Hi, I'm kind of new in ADF, I need to store ResultSet and show result in table-component. I have two problems:
1) I get my ResultSet by calling callStoredProcedure(...) and this returns actually ref_cursor as ResultSet.
When I try to println() contains of this result set in this method - it works OK (commented part),
but when I want to println() somewhere else (eg. in retrieveRefCursor() method) it doesn't work.
The problem is that the scrollability of the ResultSet is lost - it becomes a TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY ResultSet.
Is there any way to store data from ref_cursor for a long time?
2) My second problem is "store any result set and show this data in table". I have tried use method storeNewResultSet() but
without result (table contains only "No rows yet" and everything seems to be OK - no exception, no warning, no error...).
I have tried to call this method with ResultSet from select on dbs (without resultSet as ref_cursor ) - no result with createRowFromResultSet(),
storeNewResultSet(), setUserDataForCollection()...
I've tried a lot of ways to do this, but it doesn't work. I really don't know how to make it so it can work.

FI -Account Statement and Aging calculation

I need to develop an account statement for customer open items (FI) in smartform and also need to do the aging calculation at the end of main window ....for the days like 30,60,90,120,150,and grtthan 150 which is given at selection screen....pls help in this regard

Hi,
Open Items cannot be archived in SAP even if has met Document/Account Life.
Items in BSIS, BSAS & BSID are all open items.
1) Identify all open-item managed accounts
2) Check which accounts have automatic clearing through SE16 BSIS table
3) DISCUSS and AGREE WITH THE FINANCE TEAM which of these accounts need to be open-item managed. Those that do not have to be OIM can be changed in MASS transaction
4) Block the accounts that need to be changed to non-OIM
5) Run a COPY of RFSEPA03 (of course you have to do testing first). This program changes the status to non-OIM in the master data and line item tables. You have to do this for each combination of company code and GL account. If you have a lot of combinations, I suggest creating an ABAP program to "loop" the program. The combinations can be read from a flat file. Run-time depends on the number of line items that need to be changed
6) Test the accounts for archive eligibility
7) Unblock the accounts if everything is ok
This is safer than clearing. As someone mentioned earlier, you have to be careful with clearing. The same with resetting clearing.
Also, changing an account to set OIM active is very complicated. It involves reloading archived data and could result in huge problems later on. Your totals may not match with line items. This can be accomplished through a copy of RFSEPA02. SAP suggests that you create a new account instead. Knowing this, you MUST be certain that the accounts you change to non-OIM remain OIM.
For aging Calculation:
use the function module to get the customer open items....from BAPI_AR_ACC_GETOPENITEMS Function module.... after fetching the data from the bapi,
.-> read the internal table values and move to the local internal table. and prepare the final table.
.-> as asking aging 30,60,90,120,150,and GT 150 ... declare parameters and also declare the similar fields in form interface in the smartform...
.-> And pass these parameter fields VIA smartform function module....
.-> so now ur values are availble in smartform ....just arrange as per need....

Rh10 - HTML Help - linking to pdf shows when generate CHM and 'view results' but not when double-click on CHM in project folder or in product help

I have several PDFs in Baggage Files that are linked to topics in the Table of Contents. When I generate the CHM file and 'View Results' I am able to pull up/access the PDFs with no problem. When I go into the project folder and just double-click on the CHM file, I cannot pull up/access any of the PDFs nor can I access them in the product help. Any ideas? Is a setting "off" somewhere in my project?
I am using RoboHelp 10.

Well, first off, even though it would be WebHelp, it would be inside a CHM container. So for all intents and purposes it would be a CHM file. But having said that, I'm not sure there is a way to merge these hybrid types of CHM files.
If your statement about Adobe fixing the issue is meaning that they can either remove the Print icon from the CHM Viewer, I wouldn't hold my breath because as I said, that's in Microsoft's lap and they haven't updated the CHM viewer in a long while. Doubtful they ever will.
The only hope would then be for Adobe to update the code used for the Mini TOC. The only way that will happen is if enough folks submit this as a bug via the following link:
http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
Until that would happen, your likely best bet is to simply avoid using the Mini-TOC feature or just insert a warning that if the topic is printed, it will cause issues. Or, you could use bookmarks and links to establish your own verision of a "Mini-TOC"

You need iTunes on the computer. There is no iTunes for your phone. See:

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

As Mark responded - it all depends on the actual data to load, structure and source/origin. On my busiest database, I am loading on average 30,000 rows every second from data in external files.
However, the data structures are just that - structured. Logical.
Having a data structure with 100's of fields (columns in a SQL table), raise all kinds of questions about how sane that structure is, and what impact it will have on a physical data model implementation.
There is a gross misunderstanding by many when it comes to performance and scalability. The prime factor that determines performance is not how well you code, what tools/language you use, the h/w your c ode runs on, or anything like that. The prime factor that determines perform is the design of the data model - as it determines the complexity/ease to use the data model, and the amount of I/O (the slowest of all db operations) needed to effectively use the data model.

Apple tells me it is the printer mfr issue and printer companies tell me it is apple issue. Any help appreciated.

Arguably, they're both right.
Changing your router changes everything, so your best course of action is to research the respective printer's documentation and determine how to reset them to factory default condition. Then, add them again using System Preferences > Print & Scan.
For that, I recommend you first "reset the printing system" according to these instructions: Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system. Its instructions for Lion are identical to those for Mountain Lion.
As the article states, it will remove all your existing printers, leaving the Mac's printing system in a similar "factory default" condition ready for you to create a new print queue for each printer, which you should probably do.

GET statement and internal table

Hi community,
I use the GET statement and I want to use some older code segments.
I read somewhere that I can use the result of GET like an internal table.
So I tried to get the content of bsid into my internal table it_bsid. But that doesn't seem to work.
Do you have any advice in this?
I wanted to do the following:
TABLES:
        KNA1,
        BSID,
        BKPF.
DATA:
      it_bsid TYPE TABLE OF bsid WITH HEADER LINE,
      is_bsid LIKE LINE OF it_bsid,
GET bsid.
LOOP AT bsid.
APPEND it_bsid.
ENDLOOP.
-or-
GET bsid.
LOOP AT bsid INTO is_bsid.
APPEND is_bsid TO it_bsid.
ENDLOOP.
But in both cases I get an error.
' "VERSION ... ." expected after "BSID" '
Do you know what is the reason for that?

Hi Tobias,
first you have to assign a logical database which has BSID to your program (in program attributes).
Then GET is the event triggered by the next BSID record according to your selection. You can not LOOP here but you may append to an internal table. This table may be processed using LOOP in the END-OF-SELECTION event.
Read some documentation about LDB [Logical Databases|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_01/helpdata/en/f0/ca4584260211d28a430000e829fbbd/content.htm] - it may help to understand the concept of this obsolete technique.

Oracle Prepared Statement and spaces in field

I have a field that is defined as char(10). It has characters like '39' in it. When I select against it using standard SQL (where clause) I get results. When I use it in the where clause of a prepared statement it does not return any rows.
If I have the field defined as char(2) the prepared statement works.
If I have the field defined as varchar2(10) and loaded with '39' the prepared statement works.
If I have the field defined as varchar2(10) and loaded with '39 ' the prepared statement returns no results.
I really do not think this is a JDBC problem. However, since Oracle's site basically <expletive deleted>, I am hoping someone here has a solution.

Let me clarify.
I cannot remove the whitespace from the data in the database. I do not need the whitespace to do the query if I am not using a Prepared Statement. This seems to be a problem with the way Oracle is handling the prepared statement. (hence.. my thinking that this is really not a JDBC problem at all.. but I could be wrong.)

Merge statement and insert into a third table

I'm wondering if the merge statement will work in my case. I'm loading a file into a temporary table. I want to compare this temporary table with an existing source table (there are multiple source tables, I've thought of breaking them up into separate statements) and write out any differences to a third table. The third table would be used for future processing on the rows that are found to be different. Do you think this is possible using the merge command?

Why use the merge command for that purpose?
If you want to find out the differences of two tables and put the result into a third one then you should do
