My Scenario R/3- XI- File systeem

Hi
I would be working on Scenario R/3->XI->File system. I thought of using ABAP proxy at R/3 end but later I realised that I cann't use ABAP proxy as my R/3 system is of 45b version.
Can anyone tell me what adapter I should be using for this scenario shall I use RFC adapter or something else.
Regards
Ria

Dear Ria ,
For R/3-XI-FILE scenario ,
Do the following :
1) Do ALE layer configuration between R/3 and XI
2) If u are using customized IDOC the the after creating CUSTOMIZED idoc , PLZ CREATE TRIGGER PROGRAM ALSO and if u are using standard idoc then trigger it using standard trigger program .
3) Use only file adapter in this case
4) Do your required configuration in SLD , related to software component, Technical system , business sytem etc both for sender as well as receiver .
5) Do the configuration in IR and before that u must import your software component from SLD .
6) Configure your ID for File adapter , receiver agreement , receiver determination , Interface determination . Note : plz don't configure sender agreement in this case .
Hope it will help you .
Cheers

how to solve this issue ? please give the suggestion ........

    Hi..
the error showing occurs if the ports are not correctly opened with the mail server.
check with your basis or IS team for opening the ports/access to the mail server.
Once the connection is established after opening the ports, activate the channel once again and it should work!

  • How to configure a scenario which posts same file to different directories

How to configure a scenario which posts same file to different directories of a receiving system?
Consider an Idoc to file scenario where I have to post same file to two different directories but logical receiver system has to be same.

    Hi,
You can try out like this: Using multiple receiver interfaces you can send it to multiple directories with the help of enhanced interface determination/conditions and with the help of multiple receiver communication channels.
Another option is to copy the file from one target directory into another directory  with the help of Unix script by executing the same from the OS command level.
One more option is to create a Java Server Proxy and inside the proxy, you can write java code to FTP into different locations.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,

    thanks

i didn't get you sir ...can please clarify me . i had done the same scenario using XI but in PCK is it the same? because in PCK it requires Default Interface Name and Namespace which must exists in XI and we can't even create our own interface in PCK .so howz it possible without XI.

  • File to RFC synchronous scenario stopped Picking the files

    Hi Experts,
We have a File to RFC synchronous scenario. Till yesterday night it is working fine.
But suddenly it is stooped working. In moni, i can see the failed messages with the Mapping error " Can not create target element, values missing in the queue context "
No Payload in moni / communication channel monitoring / Message monitoring. I've noticed that, wrong files placed in the To-be- processed files and the adapter picked those files and failed in mapping.
I tried by stop and start the communication channel / did some dummy changes in the communication channel and activated. cleared the cache.
But still the communication channel is not working.when i stop and start the communication channel it will try to process the wrong files and failed.
Give me your valuable inputs to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Bhargava krishna

    Hi Bharghav,
    Please go through the below,
    Symptom
FTP Adapter is being used in the business scenario for message processing.
During file processing it is noticed, that the FTP sender channel stops
polling. There is no error in the channel monitor or the trace/log files
and the polling jobs are correctly displayed in the AFW scheduler table.
The issue is observed after a network connection issue with the FTP server.
In order to remove the hanging locks from the FTP Adapter, the parameter
'ftp.timeout' setting is required to be set, which releases the lock once
the timeout value is expired. But in the above situation, the value for the
'ftp.timeout' is not taken properly while establishing the data connection
    by File Adapter.
    Other terms
FTP Adapter, sender, FTP, adapter, timeout, stalled, network, hang, polling
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Program error
    Solution
The hanging situation has now been improved by code changes. Please see
section "SP Patch Level" of this note for a list of updated software
    components.
To get this correction available in your Support Package you need to apply
the patch matching to your Support Package version as per the instructions
in the NetWeaver Support Package Stack guide which can be found on the SAP
Service Marketplace as described in SAP Note 952402.

  • BPM- scenario RFC - XI - receive file - - SOAP - return answer to RFC

    Hello everybody,
    I have the scenario
    RFC call a BPM
In the BPM, I have to receive information from a file ( generated by another system 4 times in a day)
Mix the data of the file with the data of RFC
    Send them a SOAP
send the reply to the RFC
My problem is : how to receive the file on demand because in file adapter ( sender ),  the definition is only by interval of time?
Is there anybody who can help me?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
    Eric.

    Hi Eric,
in sender file adapter, we just have polling interval - so in your receive step in BPM you have to wait for the source file.....
i do not think any other workaround will be feasible for your this case

  • BPM scenario to send same file data two RFC function modules

    Hi,
Scenario:same file  need to send the data to two different RFC functions.
so in this case i need to use two receive steps or only one receive step? beause file should be places in the archive after second rfc triggered.
but this scenario client need to go with BPM only .I am new to BPM.please suggest the steps and process need to follow for this scenario.

    Hi,
You will have one async receive step to start the BPM from your file interface, 2 synchronous send steps for each RFC, and an async receive step to archive.
Don't use the transformation steps in BPM, as it decreases performance. You can use the same abstract interface for your file format in the send steps, but specify different Send Contexts for the receive steps. In Configuration, use a condition on Context object ProcessStep = Send Context from your BPM, and route to the correct RFC interface, using a mapping from your file to the RFC.
    Hope this helps !

  • Bypass scenario with a specific file naming schema

    Hi,
I am working on a bypass scenario where I pick a file from FTP location with naming conventions SCOS2UVMS_.TXT and place the file at other location with the name USED_Car.TXT.
Now I have to place this file with the Date and Time Stamp as DYYMMDD.THHMMSS.
    How can I achieve this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sachi

    Hi,
U can bypass the Integration repository steps and pass a file from 1 locatio to other.
U need to configure only the Integration Directory. In all the objects (sender agreement,Receiver determination,Interface determination,Receiver agreement) just give the interface name as dummy and name space also dummy.
Means u just give a arbitary interface name and namespace, which doesn't exist.
Then run the sender communication channel and check in target directory.
    This will work fine....
But i think its nt a good idea to use SAP  PI, for the just sake of transferring the files from 1 location to other.
U can schedule a batch file, and move the files b/w two locations.
I hope this will solve ur problem..

  • IDOC to file scenario plus control (master) file

    Hi PI gurus,
I have got the simplest possible scenario.
It is IDOC to file without BPM. Works fine.
Is there a smart way to add master file ( the one that would contain number of records and filename with data sent ) without BPM ?
THe requirement is first to ftp data file and then master file as the second file ( The reason is master file triggers processing of data file ).
    Cheers
    A.

    should be simple.
use two interfaces, one for data file and one for master file.
two mapping which will create the required files and then in interface determination add the interfaces in the required order and check the option maintain order during runtime.
    this should solve your problem.

  • Scenario-- One Idoc-- Two files has to generate.

    Hi All,
I got the scenario where i need to generate two files ( 1 with header data and 1 with item data) for single idoc FIDCC1.
Is it possible to acheive this?
Please suggest me how to appraoch this scenario?
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Seema.

    Thanks Rajesh,Ramesh and Preteek.
    Im following the below steps.
File type : 2 DATA TYPES (Header, Item)
Msg Type: 2 Message Type (Header Msg, Item Msg)
Msg Interface: 2 Messgae interfaces (Category Inbound, Mode assynchronous).
    Message Mapping:
You can do a multi mapping (1:N).
    Else
    Perform 2 message mapping
    a) with IDOC TO Header Msg
    b) Between IDOC to Item Msg.
    Perform 2 Interface Mapping
    IDOC-> HEADER INTERFACE
    'IDOC -> ITEM INTERFACE.
    ID:
    Import Both the Business Systems
    1) Define 2 Communication channel for File Business Systems. (one for Header, other one for Item).
    2) Define 1 Receiver Determination
    3) Define 2 Interface Determination
    4) Define 2 receiver Agreements as we have 2 communication channel.
    Hope it will works..

  • File to RFC scenario want to read file name

    Hi All,
I am having file to RFC scenario in which i am having file name in format  text_yyyymmdd.txt.
i want to read this file name and by separating the date in file name i have to pass this to one of the RFC date parameter.
please help me to sort out this.
    Thanks
    Swapnil

    Hi,
By writing simple UDF in your mapping you can Acheive this
    Try this Once
    DynamicConfiguration dynamicconfiguration = (DynamicConfiguration)param.get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File", "FileName");
    String MyFileName = dynamicconfiguration.get(key);
    String str[] = MyFileName.split("_");
    return str1[1];
Map this to the date parameter(RFC) in the mapping .
    Thank & Regards,

  • HT201250 I have 2 Lacie external drives connected to a Windows PC.  What is the best scenario for backing up files on both computers?  I would like to save all my files on one backup drive and have Time Machine backup that external drive to the other.

I don't know if this is a good idea, because the external drive is going to be slower than using my local hard drive to open files from.  My IMac has 1tb and the 2 external drives have 1tb each.  The IMac is my computer and my Wife uses the Windows PC, so I have to make sure both of our files are backed up.  Thanks in advance for any advice regarding this issue.

I'm in a similar situation including movies I've purchased from iTunes...
    Here's my setup:
I have all my iTunes data (music, movies, etc.) as well as about 10 GB of photos stored on a nework storage device that uses RAID-5 with SATA disks. This is basically a little toaster-sized NAS machine with four hard drives in it (www.infrant.com). If one of these drives dies, I get alerted and can insert a new one without missing a beat since the data is stored redundantly across all drives. I can also just yank out any one of the four drives while the thing is running and my data is still safe (I tried this after I bought it as a test).
That's how I prevent problems with a single disk... Redundancy
    Now onto "backups"...
Nightly, my little RAID toaster automatically backs itself up to an attached 250GB USB drive. However, these backups are only of my critical data... documents, photos and home movies... I don't bother backing up my "Hollywood" movies since I can live without them in a disaster.
... I actually don't permanently store anything I care about on a laptop or a desktop. It all goes on the NAS box (Network Sttached Storage) and then my other computers use it as a network drive. It's attached via Gigbait to my main computer and via wireless to most everything else.
My achilles heel is that I don't store anything outside of my house yet. If I was smart, I'd alternate two USB drives attached to my NAS box and always keep one of them somewhere else (Safe Deposit Box?).
...and that's just one way to do it.
    -Brian
