My search media bar brings up the stuff I want when I search for it but won't let me click on the results for anything.
Hi guys, I've been having troubles with my search bar for searching media in itunes. It worked a while ago but now when I search it brings up results and the results I want but it won't let me click them for anything. I can't go to the song, album or artist or add it to the song queue. It's really annoying to go through my library and search for a specific song without using the search. Please Help!

a lot of apps or processes running, it really causes the system lag. Try holding down the top button and home button at the same time. Then wait until it has powered down. In 60 sec or so, restart it the same way. Should fix your issue. There is an app I use called Lite Scan. It allows me to see what is running and it will free up 30mg at a time. Not much granted but enuf to keep the system from going to a crawl.
as far as your device in itunes goes, open itunes, without your phone connected. look in the advance settings and make sure everything is as it should be. Back up your data and try again. good luck

Firefox software update appeared. I allowed it to be installed. It screwed up the search bar/box. I use to be able to click on the magnifying glass icon and ALL the search engine options would appear and I could easily chose one. It was easy. Now nothing. I cannot search anything through Firefox. Firefox is useless to me now, which means I have no computer. Do I have to go out and spend another $1000 to get a new computer? This is not right. You should not do this to a person. Not everybody is technically advanced as some of you are. Now I have no means of searching for anything using Firefox. I really liked Firefox. Now your software update messed me all up. So what am I supposed to do???????????????? IE is worthless. Not safe, not secure, can't trust it. Never works right. Can't even print out correctly. Firefox update should not have messed up my computer. I need to make searches and now I can't. I mean it, it really is not right. So, just for you so called brilliant Stanford types, when I click on the magnifying glass icon or the little, inverted triangle, there is nothing. The search bar is blank. Blank, blank, blank. You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.

You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. When i click on 'Show all in Finder' after searching for anything on spotlight, NOTHING happens! NO Finder window opens up and the spotlight dropdown menu just shuts! Please help!
I'm having the same problem in other places as well, for example when i downloaded Easyfind right now, clicking the small magnifying glass button on the right of the file name (shown below) would usually open up finder highlighting the file, but now nothing happens when i click on that button!

what is going on?????I updated my iTunes to 10.2.2 this morning and have had various odd things happening. Including strange things with the iTunes Store, and also my Home Sharing bombing out on me. It just occurred to me that I haven't restarted my MackBook in a while, and then I remembered that Software Update didn't ask for a restart after updating iTunes when normally it does.
Anyway, I retstarted my Macbook, and my iTunes now appears to be behaving itself. The Store is fine and I have Home Sharing back on my iDevices too.
I'm sure you've probably done a restart, but maybe like me, you haven't, as to be quite frank, I rarely have to as nothing really goes wrong.

Took delivery of imac yesterday with pre-installed Pages, Numbers and Keynote. App store says they need updating but won't let me because I've never owned the major version of the software. I have paid like anyone else, so why can't I update?

Spotlight is not indexing my hard drive? Mail won't search for anything.
Ok, So I tried the command prompt: "sudo mdutil -E /" and it just tells me that indexing is disabled. I've tried everything I can think of. Any ideas? I can't find a way for spotlight to re-index my hard drive. Also, when I search for anything in mail, nothing will come up. And I have it set to search for everything. Any ideas with that? Help with either problem would be appreciated! thanks.

I tried getting the update for my new iphone and now it is asking me to activate it again but won't let me, how do I fix this? I had started using it for a few hours and tried getting the update and now it won't let me activate the phone. I also can't call the helpline because it won't let me leave this screen on the phone that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." What it says on iTunes after I fill out the activation info is "There was a problem activating your iPhone. Please contact Verizon Wireless at 1-800-922-0204 to have this iPhone added to your account. Click Continue to be able to explore its features and the App Store." Please help this is driving me nuts!

My iPod touch 4G 8GB, lets me download apps on iTunes, but when I go to my iPod, and then apps, the entire selection is grey and won't let me click my new apps to add to my iPod. Usually I just restore my ipod and re-download everything, but thats time consuming, and after I unplug my ipod from the cord connected to my computer, I can replug it right after and this will pop up again. I'm getting tired of doing this.
Like I said, it will let me download the apps off iTune, just when I come to my apps page on my ipod, it won't let me add it to my iPod. I can't download it straight from my ipod either, but iTunes doesn't work on my ipod, and when I update my apps, when they're in waiting they never move. What can I do?I would say that you are not connected to the iTunes library you last synced with. You can only sync with one iTunes library. If you connect the iPod to another computer/another iTunes library then you get what you see.
You can only manually manage music and videos among different libraries, not apps. -
When trying to download apps on my new iPad I keep getting prompted to update my security questions for my safety. When I choose this option it freezes and won't load the questions, however, when I hit not now it won't let me download. What do I do?
Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
I took the system file out of the system folder on os 9.2 can't boot to put file back in machine also has osx 10.2 but won't let me boot to either need os 9 compatible boot disk I think?
If the OS X 10.2 on the hard drive is/was bootable, try this -
Restart or boot, then immediately press the X key, keep it held down until you know the machine has started to boot using OS X. This is a hardware instruction to the Mac to boot using the first usable instance of OS X it finds.
Once booted to OS X, you should be able to move OS 9's System file into OS 9's System Folder.
Note - in general, unless you know for sure what you are doing and that the results are desired, do not relocate or rename files in OS 9's System Folder or in OS X's System or Library folders.
