For forwarding to work you have to have credit in your account and the number being dialed has to be in the proper format. So if you were forwarding to a UK number make sure that it ha +44 in the number. Make sure your phone or your provider aren't blocking the incoming random Skype numbers that reach your phone when calls are forwarded as there is no guarantee that the id of the number calling you will be passed by the provider. In testing my own Skype number the caller ID was passed when calling from a phone but a random number was used when originating from a Skype name. People have posted in the forums that forwarding is more reliable when a Skype client remains logged into your account (like a desktop) 24x7. Though not a requirement there could be issues with your phone being partially asleep enough to be viewed in some away/offline state in which the call doesn't bother to forward so the person gets transferred to voicemail (if enabled).

If your Online # is signalling either a busy or fast-busy tone first check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.
Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from Only people from my Contacts List".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.
Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in again.

1 Skype Business Phone number routes to agents available to take calls.
Just like in contact center setup.
We want to use 1 skype business number then when calls come in - they are forwarded to available
2-4 agents in our office.
So 1 skype number - forwards to different skype users in the office to answer.
Is there a feature we can pay for this?

Sign-up for Skype Manager, then setup a SIP Profile. Then get a IP-PBX or SIP server [I personally am using Brekeke Sip Server]
Then have each UA REGISTER to the SIP or IP-PBX server [UAS]. If your Skype DID is forwarded to SIP # and called, it should forward via routing to any extension once they register ip-phones.

... please note that the Skype Number will not "ring busy" - if you are using Skype, incoming calls would be diverted according to your Tools -> Options settings. The Skype Number provides a phone number for people to reach you, but the number has nothing to do with outbound calls you place.

I am wondering if it will be less expensive for me to get an online number as an individual or for me to get an online number through Skype business manager subscription.

IMHO. I think you need to determine if you would like a single method to fund Skype services to other Skype names you can create using the Business Manager as well as if you intend to share a Skype name with others.
Sadly, if you intend to share a Skype name, those that have the password for that Skype name, who maybe need it to answer calls from that Online Number, could change the password to that Skype name, if that Skype namecreated by the Business Manager was assigned the Online Number from the Business Manager in that case, the password can be easily reset.
That said. If that Skype name was not created by the Business Manager, an angry person having access to that Skype name and password, might change the password and then you maybe at their mercy to be able to answer calls from that "Online Number" assigned to that Skype name and/or access to other Skype services assigned to that Skype name. as well.
So, there are some security benefits as well as single source funding/payment benefits to consider one over the other based on what you might want and do now or in the future.

Hello everyone, I am looking to use skype for my business, more exactly, I am an expatriate and I need to buy/use a skype phone number that has the same format as local numbers have in my homeland. Yesterday my Skype in number wasnt allowing the other person to hear me or for me to hear them. Today the number was engaged and now it is saying this number is not accpeting calls at the moment.
I run this number for a business and cant afford for this kind of thing to happen. Also where is your support number Skype? Why am I having to post on a community board after you have taken my money and not delivered a fit for purpose service?

No meaning to get skype online number

No meaning to get skype online number, i subscribed for whole year online number, but the online number doesn't work most of the time, I am very upset, disappointed, and my friends are also very upset, angry and worry when they can't find me through the online number i bought, i am too busy to complain the quality, but now I need to voice this BIG BIG PROBLEM. I am using android reception Orange . Skype has to compensate me!!
Also if I am out and call my other country friends from my mobile through Skype, most of the time the sound quality is very very bad, they can't hear my words, like under the water, so what is the point i pay money to Skype !?!?

I have the same problem, after I choose my state, the area codes are 'loading' but none are displayed in the drop down menu. I tried this a few days ago as I was exploring this option and phone numbers for my area code were shown. So, a temporary glitch?

same here. Since a couple of days ago Skype to go number gives busy signal when called from a registered landline phone (worked before). When called from a registered mobile phone it gives 2 clicks and that's it.
Incidentally at the same time we changed the cable TV/internet equipment, but that shouldn't have anything to do because the lindline phone is on copper wire.
I must be a general Poland issue.

I have heard from the horse's mouth. My chat with nice people from Skype support (aka Microsoft) indicates that, as far as I understand it, the problem lies most probably with the provider (in my case Orange Polska, former TPSA). They may have changed the policy (no more Skype access and maybe also other ways of circumventing their revenue stream) or it is an instance of traffic shaping, which hopefully is temporary. It was also suggested to me to try changing the access number altogether, although without guarantee of successful resolution.
Guys please report back on this thread as the situation changes!

Good evening! I'm running a company based in Australia and I'm fairly new to telecommunications so I'd like to know a few things about Skype Business.
I'd like to know if this scenario is possible with Skype Business or any related information to this query.
I have a 1300-number (or a hotline) where anyone can just ring one or a universal number wherever they are in Australia. Now, let's say, a caller rings the 1300-number then that call would be transfered through Skype to be received by my virtual assistants overseas. So my virtual assistants only have to do is be online on Skype to be able to pick up any phone calls from Australia.

Using U.S. Skype online number and forwarding to F...

Hello, I am a U.S. citizen but will be living in France for four months. I need to be able to effectively be in touch with business and family back in the U.S.
What I'm planning on doing is purchasing a prepaid SIM from Orange or another French carrier. Incoming calls from French numbers are free, so I was wondering if Skype would be able to fill in the gaps. If I were to get a U.S. Skype online number, is there a way where I could forward the calls directly to my French prepaid number?

forwarding your US Skype Number to a French mobile number will require you to have adequate Skype Credit (or possibly a subscription) to cover the cost of the forwarded calls

Using Skype - Business Version - How Many People c...

I am thinking of signing up to the Skype Business Version, but am concerned that it will not be able to handle the number of people that we require on the conference call. We regularly require 12 people or more on a conference call, can you please advise if this is possible using Skype Business Version. Please can you also advise what the maximum number is.
