My sons 4s wont reactivate because its asking for an icloud email, i don't know what that is. how can i reactivate it?

i have tried my original itunes id and that has not worked.

Enter the password for the Apple ID that was setup on the device.
If you do not know what this is, there is nothing that you can do.
Activation lock is a security feature to prevent lost/stolen devices from being restored as new and used by those that the device does not belong to.
There is no way to bypass the Activation Lock feature.

I'm sorry about your loss.
Are you trying to recover data from this iPad, or to set it up as new (erase everything on it, and simply use the iPad as if it were brand new as your new iPad)?
If the latter, you can place the iPad into recovery mode as shown here. You may have to try this several times:

If iTunes is asking for a password to restore from an iTunes backup, then yes, you did set one up. You must have selected 'Encrypt iPhone Backup' when you created the backup. If you don't remember the password, then you'll have to restore the device as new.

Freecorder asked for admin access & now i don't know what it installed

first time writing a thread. i stupidly installed freecorder. it is reknown ... more like notorious for installing all kinds of garbage on windows. they must have just come up with a dmg for mac - as applian's customer service still has no idea that there's a mac app. it asked for admin access during install. briefly afterwards, i realized that that was not normal for an app to do - so i started looking around & sure enough, it's filled with nasty stuff. i have since deleted the app, but wondering what else it could have left on my computer. also if there is a way to see what changes it made, or why it even needed access to my admin ...
i'd be grateful for any help. still getting to know mac.

It's normal for your Mac to prompt for your admin password when installing apps.
If the app is still in the trash... drag it out of the Trash to the Desktop.
Then install this utility > Download AppCleaner for Mac - Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
AppCleaner will not only uninstall the app but all the associated files.
If you emptied the trash, click the Spotlight icon top right in your screen. Type freecorder in the search field.
Hopefully that will help you find any of the associated files.

New iphone indicates voicemail temp password has expired, set up new one. Step 1 asks for current password. I don't know what it is. What do I do/ does that mean to just enter a new one?

New iphone 4 indicates that temporary voicemail password has expired, select a new one. In trying to do so, the first step is to enter current password. I either did not have one, or I don't remember it. Could the prompt mean just to enter a new password?

The voicemail password is independent from Apple/your iPhone and is related to your service provider. If you already set a password for your voice mailbox, you would need to input it in order to access your voice messages associated with your cell-phone plan. If you forgot your voice-mail password or did not set one, I'd advise you to simply call your cell-service provider support which should quickly resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, you can't. There's no way around it. You'll have to get the ID and password used to originally activate the phone or you will not be able to activate it again. If you can't contact them, try to get your money back because you won't be able to use it.
